I don't think we'll be watching for the skill of the players in this one, but I don't even know. I suspect he's playing a bit more to prepare for it. Then again after watching BoxeR vs. YellOw in the last OSL, you never really know.

He played a game at an Internet Cafe in Montreal on a show called Where is my Friend's Home.
Granted it was against a KPop star who played the game like once. And Grr was like, eating and drinking and doing random things at the same time.
Ok i was a massive fanboy of grrr... back in the day, ye gods this is going to be sweeeet (holy fuck Im getting old, 18 years since release of bw?!?! sigh..)
When was the last time Grrrrr did anything in bw? So awesome that he's back although I would presume that at least most people are like me and came to bw way after his period of awesomeness. Also I expect him to get destroyed, back when he played he was a crazy time and the others were all pros for a long periods so they have a lot of experience in a modernish meta. Other than that nada wins all because he's been practising, but it should be cool just to see faces old rivalries etc.
I actually only got into the pro-scene in late 2004 after Grrrr... retired so I always get surprised at how many know people who he is in Korea. Whenever I bring up bw with people they always talk about watching his games when they were younger. Hell even my parents know who he is.

Looking at the picture is like a lame "one of these is not like the others" quiz. Who is Grrr anyway and why have I not heard of him? His handle matches my initials so I'd likely pay more attention to him if I saw him before... Anyway, I was hoping some oldschooler would bring back shuttle reaver harass, er... warp prism disruptor harass? Maybe he is the one. At least Bliz realized they'll never be able to fix scarab AI and gave players a more direct control of the new "scarabs"
I'll be happy to see some Boxer too. Can he pull out marines vs lurkers in this game version finally? It's the main reason I wanted to have lurkers in SC2 ever since WOL... but Bliz made them too OP compared to BW so I guess that's unlikely. Oh well, at least they buffed his tank/dropship micro

or Guillame 'Grrrr...' Patry is the one and only non-Korean to win the OSL (the Hanaro OSL), which was also the first official OSL (I still think 1999 PKO was the first but bleh.) He also placed second versus Oddysay on the 1st GameTV Starleague where he defeated NaDa on the semifinals. He placed third in the HanbitSoft OSL by beating Kingdom and won the OGN Final King of Kings that pitted all the finalists at the point in one event.

I started following BW esports when the patch that introduced replays got released and don't really remember seeing guillaume play (although I heard of him a lot). Not saying there isn't any replay of him but I'm pretty sure his peak was before replays existed.

That's correct, Blizzard added replays in 2001, the time he won OSL was the year before. And I know that replays were SUPER buggy back then, not sure if they were buggy for a few month or a year or so.
Yea there wasnt reps when he won the osl but he was still active sometime after that. On the tl replay database there is a great game of him vs zerglee on blade storm. Awesome use of maelstrom

I don't recall too much on Grrr 15 years ago (never paid close attention to pro scene back then), but it was my understanding Grrr was not only one of the best at toss at his peak, he was very good with the other races too. He often would play random in a tourne.
Also Grrr and Elky were buddies back in the day. I remember it seemed like they would hang out. They even both went into poker at a similar time (tho elky obviously had better luck with it with all the millions he has won).
