Entropy's SC 2008 X-Mass Wish List
"yeah I am 2 years early, but it would be a good 10th year StarCraft happening and x-mass present!"
1. A SC/BW sequel, not sc2, 2d higher resolution, new music, expansion of story line yada yada..
2. Recode original SC/BW so that it is not Swiss cheese for hacks and piracy.
3. A new race*

i)adding a new race adds complexity, more complexity more fun, more strategically depth, and it permits to side step the balance issue, once launched the new race can be tweaked, independently, until it is balanced with respect to the other races (without having to mess with the units of the established races).
ii)progaming will not be hugely affected by it, because progamers will still use their races, those that chose the "new race" will be at a disadvantage for a long while before they reach the skill level to compete with them in that skill level. That way it does not alienate all the current players from the new ones. A sequel has to take in account the Korean pro-gaming phenomena so it does not hurt it in any way.
iii)optional matching system a la warcraft3 style.
4. After one year another sequel with 2 new units per race (i.e. repeat the Brood War magic when everyone used to the new race, keep everyone buying and playing).
5. A system so a single online game can be watched by thousands almost live or live (i.e. bwtv)
6. an optional, Blizzard run, fee for service* and thus daily upkeep, real i.d. registration and a secure online ladder/tournament, prizes provided by third party corporate sponsors.
*so they have a concrete reason to keep it hack free and abuse free.
Nothing wrong with dreaming..and last but not least,
7.  for the movie.

4) Hack Free Blizzard Supported Ladder (Top 10 ladder players go to Korea [Blizzcon etc...] and fight it out)
5) No more black screen of death
6) Allow "illegal" characters to be made into names again

Despite all the whining and wishes you guys always have, I'm actually pretty satisfied with Starcraft in its current state; Like 99% satisfied.

A new race... that sounds interesting but I'm afraid it will be an unfufilled wish. In a couple of years if not months StarCraft will die if nothing is done...

A more user-friendly lower-apm requirement interface
multiple building selection
larger group size
not multiple casting with a group of casters

Keep broodwar to what it is, but cell shade the entire thing so it can keep its 2d-ness, but still have decent graphics.

I really don't like the idea of another race. 4 races just seems like a really strange number. 3 is perfect.

yeah, i dont understand why the illegal characters cannot be used.. anyone know? hmm i will keep my wishes to myself.. as theyre not likely to happen.

also keep in mind that koreans don't like the number 4 :p
I read somewhere that koreans usually have 3 marines in every bunkers except on occasionnal purpose. Don't ask me why i don't know it's a part of the culture :p

3 marines have the same firing animation as 4 so as a deterrant it's just as effective
