Unless the latest version has ground breaking bugs that limit the games ability to play matches at a competitive level, then I see no reason to hold onto the old patch. From what I've seen so far, there's nothing in 1.18.3 that suggests that they can't hold pro matches on it. Every pro complaint has been just them complaining about things being different. In addition it seems its only a slight minority that are against the new patch. Problems with losing control groups for one is glaring and terrible for the game. Hope Afreeca switches back to 1.16 until Blizzard irons out all the bugs because it's destroying the competition. Also, just because every other esport screws over its players, doesn't mean that we should as well. ASL started with patch 1.16, it should run with the patch till it finishes then next season they can adapt the new patch. Gives time for Blizzard to fix up issues and for players to get used to any changes, only logical.

(assuming the tournament is run by the developer. obviously developers have no control over schedules of tournaments run by other organisations.) seeing as how asl is literally the only major tournament in bw right now, it would make more sense for blizzard to pay attention to it and work around the schedule rather than imposing new rules halfway through. thats just retarded

Viewers : why you choose 1.18 now? It is unfair and has some problems. Please use 1.16 BJ Kevin : sorry, but we dont have any options. But i will communicate with Blizzard and send your opinion to Blizzard.

However, if Blizzard had done the patch right originally and made sure there were no issues then I don't think patching would have been a big deal at all. The game itself hasn't changed, just the lobby and ease of access. But strategy isn't going to change, hotkeys aren't changing, etc. But for some reason Blizzard felt the need to rush out the patch and while I am not having issues, I know there are plenty of players who do.

For example, when casuals were already playing on 7.8 patch, pros were still on 7.6 and later siwtched to 7.7 and the season ended even before they could touch the latest patch.

Mong : 1.18 has some preblems, so i was under a lot of stress during preparing this games. please, Blizzard must improve 1.18 version for players and viewers. I wish that Blizzard will be considerate our feelings. Best : I entirely feel diffrent in ASL and home, especially Mouse.(he means Battlenet vs UDP). I think Blizzard have to take responsibility about this problem. Many ex-pros cant play active work and do their best.
