Shark: A New Year party, in a sense!! Friends all doing their best in their positions.
We met to talk and there's a lot that's changed after five years.
Haha everyone is older than before. Pwuhaha

FB post

I think the guy on the far left is Kyuhyun, Super Junior member who likes BW and is close friends with Shark and Bisu. Can anyone identify the other guy? One random guess says Hwasin.

Friday, January 9, 2015 1:30 AM ~ 3:55 AM KST

@ Effort Afreeca Stream

+ Show Spoiler [Short Summary] +
Effort plays a bunch of games online against terrans and wins easily against amateur terrans.

Effort goes 0-2 against Hiya

Effort then proceeds to watch VODs of his past games back in KeSPA days with viewers for at 1-2 hours and then proceeds to go to sleep.

But in the end, he keep saying he'll sleep after this game or that game but continues on to watch more VODs of his own until Bisu comes to his stream and then Effort finally ends up logging off for the night, around 3:20 AM KST.

Somewhere in middle, Effort mentions about SC2 don't have any meaning to him anymore when answering viewer question about his interest in SC2.

@ Bisu Afreeca Stream

+ Show Spoiler [Long Summary] +
Bisu off-races as Terran and loses against another player who was off-races as Protoss (original race as Terran)

Bisu praises this player (most likely an amateur).

Bisu plays few games as Protoss and wins easily against Terran players.

Bisu during his stream continuously say he's hungry he's hungry and his viewers responses with balloon donations, some with 100 balloons, others with series of 10 balloons, another with 101, 400s, 200s, etc.

(T/N: I'm beginning to think that when he says he's hungry, he probably uses some sort of protoss mind control trick to signal viewers that this is the time to donate to him)

During one practice game, Bisu was looping this same song at least 3 times and he was singing to that song some point and as a response, a viewer donated him 100 balloons easily.

Bisu viewer peak was in 4600s and after matches when he proceeds to lurk other people's streams and not play games, it went down to 2448.

Bisu's CPU usage is hovering 40-55% when he's streaming on Afreeca + BW (T/N: Not high specs PC).

Bisu likes to make cutesy expressions such as "Wow~~~" "Agree? Agree?" "Hungry~~~" etc during his stream at all times

(T/N: makes me question what's the % of girls of his viewers are, if there's 4000 viewers, does that mean 2000-3000 are girls watching him... 2-3 AM in morning?!?)

Bisu said he's going to go offline soon (which means another hour of streams creeping and not playing games) and also mention most people might not stream on this weekend (due to KSL/SSL matches).

Bisu: I'm really hungry~ At this time, what would hit the spot would be Jin Ramen (korean ramen brand)

Bisu: Agree~? agree~? Ahhh~~

Bisu talking about different ramen brands, he doesn't like Shin ramen, he likes the Raccoon Ramen (Korean brand name).

(T/N: Shin Ramen is the popular Korean brand Ramen here in USA that most college students eat btw)

Bisu lurks Effort stream when Effort is still watching his own past VODs (when Effort previously mention he'll sleep after that last last VOD).

Bisu lurks to Guemchi stream and laughs at Guemchi expression he made on SSL10 Day 1 after match.

Bisu amazed the amount of ppl at the audience on SSL10 OGN stadium: "Why is there so many (people)?"

Bisu: "How can I go to Airforce ACE?" (viewer question) "I was earning money back then" (back in KeSPA days)

Bisu lurks to Tyson stream (Tyson and Bisu both greet on stream)

Later on, Bisu watches former Hwaseung OZ progamers singing Korean music covers (while having a backpack on their backs to advertise OZ products back then) on his stream with viewers, Bisu searches for a quest to find Jaedong's Kpop music cover.

Bisu in the end couldn't find Jaedong's musical cover and instead watches thru Killer and other ex-OZ players singing and Bisu even sings along with some of these songs....

As Bisu continues his late night (early morning) discussions with viewers.....

Bisu talks about food he likes again. He states how he wants to eat squid with soju.

Bisu: "Agree~? Agree~?"

Bisu said he likes to drink fast because he wants to get drunk fast. He feels he's going to end up being an alcoholic because he loves drinking.

Bisu also admits he doesn't smoke.

Bisu continues to lurk other streams, especially food streams near the end, multiple MULTIPLE food streams, people just eating food, Bisu commenting how he wants to eat that or this food, etc. (T/N: This is happening past 3 AMs in Korean time, all live streams..... AT 3-4 AM IN MORNING)

Bisu: Everyone, everyone see you either Saturday or Sunday... Bye! Saturday or Sunday everyone! Bye!

Bisu: I'll come back (to stream) after winning (KSL match)~ Bye!~

Last minute donation occurs and Bisu responds with a KISS ON THE CAMERA....

Bonus (~ 4:00 AM KST):

@ Guemchi Afreeca Stream

+ Show Spoiler [Stargirl] +
Guemchi lurks on SSL10 Stargirl blog where she was taking selfies with SSL10 players during SSL10 ro16 OGN matches and couldn't find his picture in the blog post.

Guemchi yells "WHERE'S MY PICTURE" and comments on blog post "You shouldn't do this to me!!"

Guemchi then stumbles on Stargirl's previous pictures and galleries, sees Stargirl on bikini and and other outfits and then yells: "NUUUUUUUNA! I want you!"

Guemchi then realizes Stargirl age (born 1986 so she's 30 in Korean age now) and is amazed by her appearance in her age. Comments about how he's 27 (Korean age) though....

Then he continues to practice online past 4 AM at Fish server......

He says that he received it during the lan party but sadly couldn't fly over, not that UK failed to go ahead on quality - lol.

This putz, hope he feels a mountain of regret and plays in SSL 11, or whenever he's out of military

Some streamers/chatters were talking about the SBENU sponsoring LoL leagues, and the prize pools are huge!

SBENU 2015 Champions (team league): 280M KRW or $250,000
SBENU Ladies Battle League: 40M KRW + 10M KRW + 18M KRW = 68M KRW or ~$61,000

Looks like the BW SSL (50M KRW or $45,000) is just a small speck of the SBENU marketing machine... But perhaps Sonic leveraged the LoL tournaments to convince OGN to broadcast BW? If this is the case, it makes (P)Bisu and (T)Sea's absence from SSL 10 even more disappointing, when Sonic is putting so much on the line to resurrect things and the biggest names don't participate. Ugh...

Prech, LoL is played by 5 players and as my friend told me, a pro team has more than 5 to substitute guys as opposed to just one person for BW. It's like sponsoring BW teamleagues, so if you think about it, a SSL first placer actually gets more. And it's no secret that it's the most popular esport in Korea today.

Assuming half of the prize is for 1st place:
BW: 25M Won -> First Place
LoL: 140M Won / 5 players (absolute minimum to play LoL unless 3v3 or smth) -> 28M Won

edit - typos

Whether you like BW, LoL, Sonic or whatnot. If you want to grow a business you will advertise where it is more effective or where most people will see it. League of Legends is the absolute perefect target audience since it consists of younger players and is hugely popular. The SBENU line is said to be most popular around high school kids which is just spot on for SBENU.

In my opinion it doesn't matter if it is to keep contact with OGN or if it was in the deal agreements, it will bring attention and eventually more money into Sonic's company > if he decides he will pour more money into BW or not, that is up to him.

And frankly, Sonic doesn't owe us anything. We are already in HUGE debt to him.

Yea the SSL 10 first prize is 20M KRW ((Wiki)Prize pool released few days ago)

I don't really care what the individual prize is, my surprise is just at the magnitude of the money ($300k!) and the fact that it's not Brood War. Nothing against LoL and it serving SBENU's business interests, just that it's not BW

The mythology of Sonic is that of a devoted BW fan who's taken huge financial risks, even bank loans, to ensure BW and the SSL survived. Now having succeeded as as an entrepreneur, he's continued to give back to the community, which is amazing . The surprise to me is that the narrative has turned askew, with another game entering the equation, with big money tossed its way.

Uh, I wouldn't take the total of the Champions prize money completely to SBENU - I'm sure Riot Korea provides a significant sum to that prizepool.

I feel a bit lazy today but after watching few hours on sSak stream, I would be an idiot not to post some bits of summary of his Afreeca stream.....

Monday, January 12, 2015 2:00 AM ~ 4:20 AM KST @ sSak Afreeca Stream

+ Show Spoiler +
sSak 2-0 Free before I came in to watch

sSak was watching Mong Afreeca Stream where it was Mong vs Free. sSak left the stream on while he told his viewers he's going to take a quick shower. sSak also said he's hungry and he wants to eat chicken during Mong stream (T/N: probably a slight reference on how Mong loves his chicken nom noms)

Heated battle between Mong and Free where Free targeted and starved Mong's economy well despite Mong using his army as effective as he can, forcing a GG to Mong (along with carriers, high templars, goons, zealots, arbiters).

sSak would go around stalking different Afreeca streams (starting around 2:30 AM to 3:30 AM?): viewing various girl streams, food streams, girl eating food, guy eating food, bunch of dudges with heavy muscles at a fitness center working out, more girl streams, etc.

sSak said that his type of girl is a pure white (pale skin or heavy makeup) face Korean girl and picks that one particular girl with very white face as his MVP pick of the tonight among his afreeca stream choices.

sSak had a moment showing off his dog where that dog kinda looks like that FrankerZ emote on twitch.

sSak Afreeca viewers kept bothering him to stop watching girl streams and play game already so sSak was like okok, "I'll play a game and then sleep".

So sSak decides to bother Free at 3 AM for another game which after some debating on Free's end (stating how it's 3 AM and all) he agrees for another bo3 series.

Game 1 Fighting Spirit
Game 2 Match Point

During the first game, sSak decides to get serious, TURNS OFF K-POP/BACKGROUND MUSIC and boosts in-game SC BW music up.

sSak manages to defeat Free twice, 2-0, with impressive mech army plays, macros and good defense by Free's aggressive fast pushes and battle micros on both of these games.

After the game, Free logs off to go to sleep, sSak notices in background that his dog brought his doggie treat all the way from the bathroom to his room, signaling hunger.

sSak doesn't go to sleep and instead talks about IU and his interest, defends/supports IU from viewer questions, compares IU to Hello Venus (another K-pop group) and about IU appearance in SSL10 finals perhaps?

sSak then says how AOA (that K-Pop group you see on SBENU commercials) will not come to (SSL10) finals? sSak said that's what he heard from others....

sSak stalks Stargirl profile and blog page (exactly similar to how Guemchi did not too long ago). He checks out stargirl pictures and also his selfie with stargirl which is on her blog page. (T/N: see posts above for sSak/stargirl selfie + link to blog, thanks prech!)

sSak said the stargirl made him hold that camera (for selfie) and he felt his arms was going to die for holding the camera so long.

@ 5:30 AM KST on sSak Afreeca stream (I was out a bit and sees he's still streaming)

+ Show Spoiler +
sSak proceeds to make some Jajang-myung Ramen (black bean paste noodles) and eats it on stream with his viewers watching, making people hungry, jealous and etc. Specifically puts camera on his food, takes more than half of screen (small part of stream screen shows Fish server channel where some guy messages him in English "your dog want to eat <3".

@ 6:15 AM KST on sSak Afreeca stream

+ Show Spoiler +
sSak faces recently popular skilled Hungarian SC BW player sziky (Zerg) into a bo3 where sSak 2-0 sziky using great control on his marines/medics.

Second game involved a 2-port cloak wraiths build into bionic only strategy (marine/medic/science vessel/dropship/firebat).

Breaking news regarding YouTube VOD uploads:

On January 12, Bisu discovered for the first time that there are series of VODs on his Afreeca streams on YouTube and he plans to crack down on the uploaders by filing an official complain/report to Google Korea. He fills out an application on YouTube to report YouTube user "Afreeeca".

But it is unclear if he was able to submit the official report due to difficulties filling out the report application on YouTube (and because he didn't fill out the entire "red dot/important area" sections of the applications).

For more details, please read the transcript below on today's Bisu stream.

Monday, January 12, 2015 4:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM KST @ Bisu Afreeca Stream

+ Show Spoiler [Transcript] +
Bisu does several practice matches with by.hero where he easily 2-0 him using early aggressive harassment micros using probes and zealots enabling easy wins in early game.

Bisu once again mentions how he's hungry again.

Bisu talks about his ideal girlfriend situation how he wants to date a girl with a lot of people in public. Bisu wants a girl who can drink alcohol with him and have causal talks with him while drinking.

Bisu reveals how he wants to start uploading his own VODs from his Afreeca stream to YouTube starting this March 2015.

Bisu communicate with his viewers of how to set up and manage a YouTube account and if it's possible to assign moderators or other people to manage the account too. He mentions how Movie does all the uploading/managing YouTube account by himself.

Viewers mention to Bisu how he needs a PIN number for YouTube account, how it'll take 3-4 weeks to get that PIN number and other possible requirements to setup a YouTube account to own/manage. (T/N: Probably because it's Korea, there is probably a different set of laws in place compared to what we know elsewhere like in US, PIN number isn't necessary).

Then someone in the Afreeca chat points out to Bisu of the VODs already existing off his Afreeca stream on YouTube, some as high as 100,000 views. So Bisu, for the first time ever, discovers a series of his Afreeca stream VODs on YouTube from past weeks, months, etc, including practice matches such as Bisu vs Larva and event matches.

Bisu spots majority of these VODs is uploaded by a YouTube username by "Afreeeca". Bisu also spots other videos uploaded by users "SC BW" and "nevake" when browsing through VOD playlists.

But as Bisu primarily focuses on YouTube user "Afreeeca", Bisu claims/believes that this is some random guy who happens to use the nickname/username Afreeca and is completely displeased by these uploads. He sees the view counts on some of these VODs ranging from several thousands to 100,000s and has a pissed expression on stream. Bisu mentions how those viewers on VOD were only on YouTube to most likely watch his VODs.

Bisu then says how he needs to report or file a complaint about this and asks his viewers how/where to report this, asking assistance from his viewers. Bisu said how he needs to make a phone call to Google Korea and his viewers assist him with the phone number of Google Korea.

Bisu does a live calling session on stream with Google Korea where he first got hung up. He calls again, met with the automated messaging options and as he is unclear what button to press, his viewers assist the options (spamming on chat like "press 6, press 6!!" or "ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ").

Bisu manages to talk to the Google Korea rep while streaming but after a conversation with the rep and hangs up, he states how he didn't understand most of what the rep was saying. Bisu mentioning how the rep was saying difficult things to explain and it didn't help him understand what to do. Within the phone call conversation, Bisu was mentioning the word police, possibly saying if police needs to be involved or not.

But in the end, Bisu has learned that this report/complaint can be filed online. With the assistance of Bisu viewers, he found the webpage on YouTube Korea where you can file an official report but notices that he needs to use Google Chrome to use it and as he was using Internet Explorer, Bisu switches browser to Chrome. (T/N: Google monopoly OP)

Bisu says this application report is complicated and he was confused at first how to fill out the application (all in Korean). But as minutes pass, Bisu was able to slowly fill out application, read the application directions, consult with his viewers and copy/paste links of Bisu Afreeca VODs on YouTube by user "Afreeca". When he double check these youtube videos, you see the typical ad pop out before video (ie. Larry King advertisement or other commercials) and mentions how this uploader must be making money off these ads....

Bisu fills out the form with best of his ability, checking all the checklist but mention to viewers how they (Google) will know and confirm if he submitted the report or not. A minute later he found a section to include personal info such as phone number and Bisu typed a phone number on his stream for everyone to see and quickly deletes that number. Bisu claims that's not his number, he intentionally did that but his viewers kept asking him regarding the phone number, spamming that phone number on chat, if it's his number, how they're going to call and check and constantly nagging him about that number. Bisu says not to call as the viewers will get in trouble calling/troubling some random guy and also mention that "those who know me will know that's not my phone number".

After much trouble, Bisu finally figured out how to submit/confirm this application report but YouTube kept denying the request with bold red text boxes and Bisu is confused and stumped why the application isn't processing. It is later to be revealed when Bisu show on stream that he didn't completely filled out the entire "red dot/important mandatory parts" of the application which neither him nor viewers seem to realize or notice. It is unclear if Bisu have officially submitted the application properly and if the application ever went through.....

Meanwhile Bisu decides to do another game with by.hero where by.hero does a speedling build, overrunning Bisu's natural in early game and forces Bisu to gg just few minutes into the game.

Bisu then goes to mention how his PC is lagging (possibly due to Chrome, IE, and other programs opening in background) and goes to look at YouTube again and sees YouTube pages of Afreeca BJ girls with their youtube videos, the highlight videos, the high video count numbers on these videos. He notices this one highlight video by an Afreeca BJ girl on Youtube has 1 million views and is amazed. Bisu tells his viewers how he wants to do that too, make his own highlight videos, upload on YouTube and get a lot of views.

Bisu mentions about Psy's popularity on YouTube, the view counts on his video (Gangnam Style) and discussing how it's hundreds of millions of views and how Psy must have made a lot of money off that. Bisu says to his viewers how he should do that too, get millions of views, have international fame, be a celebrity (and make lots of money) in process. Ends up that topic with "Agree? Agree?~"

Bisu said how he loves the fact the distance between where he's at and the stadium (for KSL) is close and how he's going to take the subway next time he travels there. Viewers commenting where he's at and where/when to spot him on subway and subway station and possible plans to stalk him.

Bisu then goes to watch by.hero stream for quite a bit while causally talking with his viewers.......

by.hero says farewell to his stream and says on his stream how he has to go to a "hagwon" (private learning academy). When Bisu asks what type of hagwon, by.hero says he goes to English hagwon to learn English. Bisu says how he learn English and should go to......

(as I at this point have fell asleep and passed out at ~5 AM).

Well cool that he wants to upload some. Gotta make bisu vods on /koreanbw unlisted asap tho, we really don't want to lose so much fpvs and league games over this. Thx for the info.

edit: done. All vids containing "Bisu" in their title are now only accessible through links, e.g. through the recommended games thread. Sry if that ruins anyone's playlists, not sure how that works. Might just do that for all vods, I've been advertising the tl threads on yt for quite some time so ppl should know.

^^Thanks, QS

I suspect even Bisu's games on YT won't reach a million hits, much less Psy. Maybe he should consider switching to LoL

Impressed that (Z)hero is learning English at a hagwon! Perfect for English spamming/"practice" on Fish
