basically this guy is saying: BW is over, deal with it. Honestly, those kinda comments make me mad too. And while it is exaggerated, it is true that the age demographic of sc2 is different from BW and that BW is more popular in Korea than Sc2. €: Elitism? if your only referring to demeaning remarks, i agree. But most users here simply like Sc1 over Sc2 for a couple of reasons, that is just how many of us feel about the game(s). And many do so with good reason, as they have played their fair share of both games, which you can't claim for the elitists on the other side of the table often enough in short i feel:Expressing that opionion in the BW subforum is a legit thing.

yes its hyperbole but its not a totally false statement either. ask any kid and most of them would favour sc2 more over BW due to sc2 being a more "modern" game and also inexperience with BW. And I don't feel elitist about that, only pity for these kids for not being able to appreciate BW.

People still forget quite how difficult and time-intensive it is to be competent at SC2. Less so than Brood War but a lot harder and stressful than most other modern big titles.
There are teens who play it, obviously. I'd still say the majority of players who are very invested are older, people who grew up with BW, AoE, CnC and WC3 and still love to play RTS
