Individual league sponsored by sOoL[WHITE] (notorious sponsor, fan, player) and organized/casted by LoveTV has recently begun - no wonder Love has been so quiet lately ^^
Group selection was streamed on December 8th and the league began on Tuesday, December 10th. Love is cooperating with Sonic on some level to avoid major scheduling conflicts (in terms of this vs SSL9 or players scheduled for this and SPL on the same day).
She talks about how we watch the tourney etc. then gets fun mad at ASM's hilarious faceswaps - she also understands that we were voting for who's cuter in Zanursic's poll and she thinks she's losing it but she's not sure so she asks chat to confirm. Also, she has no idea why there's an Elegant pic in the thread in the first place. She's like "who IS this guy???"
Prize pool Total: $1885 1st: $940 2nd: $280 3rd: $94 The rest (~$570) as a bonus for every game won: 100 ballons in Ro32/16, 200 in Ro8, 300 in Ro4
Format Preliminary Ro32: 8 groups of 4 players in a dual tournament format, top two in each group advance to Ro16 Ro16: 4 groups of 4 players; group pool league Ro8: BO3; tournament Ro4: BO5; tournament 3rd Place Match: BO5 Final Match: BO7
I'll take care of the LRs for this. Anyway they say everyone has a dream and mine is for all you lovely folks to refer to this league as LoL, thank you very much. VODs will be delivered one way or another.
no Bisu and Jangbi seems surprising lol. Will give the others a chance though, except Killer and Sea. They don't need anymore chances lol. This LoL league seems interesting lol
Shoudlnt' race section on players' list be enriched by their respective mottos: Terran "Pride of War", Zerg "Overcome all", Protoss "Victory after Victory"?

IMO 2 Bo5s and a super ace is a terrible format for an individual league.
You could go 3-2, 0-3, 1-0 and still win despite an overall 4-5 score, as the order of winning the games matter, not just the total number of games won.
If the aim is to build suspense, they could do it like OSL where they play one match on the first day, then the rest on the second day (or maybe play a Bo7 where 2 matches are played on the first day).

Her name is Kim Sarang=Kim Love, hence LoveTV. BJ=broadcasting jockey. All these leagues are called BJ leagues.

Doesnt mean they had to call it that though..
I'm not sure "사랑" (Sarang) has same connotation as "Love".

Any reason they shouldn't? Cuz someone far away speaking another language might misunderstand or make some immature jokes? Why should they care about some random english abbreviation they're either unaware of or don't give a shit about.

Looks like this will be the way Ro16 will work - everyone plays everyone, top 2 out of each group advance.
The order of games and the map order will be generated 10 minutes before the games start using that random generator site they use for everything. Sounds fun, I'm pretty excited for this

Love finally got her best BJ badge. I'm not sure about what exactly this means and how one goes about getting it, but I know she's been trying to get it for like forever so gj
Also, this is older, but she shared this thread on her fb too.
She says she knows it's only because of the famous players in the league but it made her really 'bewildered'. and that she'll keep working harder. We've been following her on TL before this league already though ^^

The two greatest players in Brood War have the names "Jae Dong" and "Young Ho." I think you're just going to have to accept Korean-English has a lot of double entendres. Just get your mind out of the gutter or laugh at it. Getting offended is not an option
This is over and it was nice, only two sudden schedule changes and otherwise no major issues. Season 2 is being prepared now, 15 players confirmed already and there should hopefully be some ex-pro additions to commentary as well. Format more or less the same since it worked well.
Edit: I went through the post a bit more and apparently she's negotiating with 5 ex-pros who are not currently actively streaming as BJs on Afreeca, so we can look forward to some new faces in season 2. Also the 2 co-casters should be ex-pros.
