That's really an awesome work !

Actually, if we want to win the contest, a good looking, flashy & classic logo won't be enough imho, cause every website concerned by sandlot will have something like that. In the best case it'd be a toss up with many others...

We obviously need something original, and this one is perfect. Tho i tend to prefer it with yellow stars %)

The only change that I would do to this, is to the tail. Looks like a dog tail. Must be longer and like a horse.

here's my suggestion: maybe little wraiths instead of the stars? or a little wraith in the sky wayyyy far off? there should be a random starcraft unit in there that maybe viewers have to look for and go 'oh cool!' to when they find it

I think Jellycat's logo is really cute. It probably won't win the contest, but is that really the contest we care about? Sure, we don't allow super 3D FX UlTrA/ ZuPeR GRFXZ signature images all the time, so naturally we don't attract unoriginal photoshop 3d futuristic logo designers. Let's have a sweet logo, let reps.ru or w/e win the logo contest, and own the fuck out of the tournament.

the goal is not artistic integrity, the goal is to win the competition.
and individuality alone will not win the competition when the individuality makes it look worse than all the more professional ones done by the other sites. accurately representing the site will matter, but the visual impact will matter far more. a cartoon llama with flags and team liquid in crayon under it doesnt do that.

HungZerg, I can understand you not liking the design (yes I call it design, my bad) of the logo : it looks childish, shiny colors, dumb concept etc.. I just can't understand how you can be so sure that this particular logo won't stand a chance. Especially considering the arguments you provide.

Well, the goal is to do our best to win it. I won't kill someone to win this personnally. I love SandLot's concept because it's fun, I won't suicide if TL doesn't win as long as our team put up the best fight it can.
- And it you really wanted to win this competition, you may have (choose from the following) : hide the thread to keep it secret up to the last minute (kinda like sclegacy), hire someone to do this, pay blizzard etc.

Hmm, how can you be so sure about that? Do you know how the selection will be made? Any idea of the criteria of choice? "Design contest" doesn't mean cleanest / shiniest / most professional looking logo, for me the design is not just about the look but also about the concept.
- but, true, Blizzard may not understand the concept of my last logo

Anyway, just my opinion on the matter.

Nice logo Jellycat... I have few remarks though.

1) I don't like centered layout that much because there isn't any visual stress... although there is a nice 'biblical' pyramid type shape in the logo. But asymmetric is the way to go.

2) You have alot of empty space in the sky. Why not extend the flags there and or make them bigger, you can barely recognize them now.
