L3gendary PM'd me after I posted here. There's no drama between him and myself, so that's all good (thank God). We both had some differences of opinion about the qualification process and the ro32 format. He would've liked to see an OSL-style elimination round with a winners' and losers' bracket, with each being a bo3. To break that down:

Hal9000 vs Weed420

LilWayne vs Qaza

That's 2 games so far.

UncleRuckus < Qaza

so the winner will face the winner, the loser will face the loser

WINNERS BRACKET - Hal9000 vs Qaza

LOSERS BRACKET - Weed420 vs UncleRuckus

So now it's 4 games. The winner of the winners' bracket moves onto the ro16, the loser of the winners' bracket will face the winner of the losers' bracket. That would end up being 5 games total.

So, with 8 groups, there would be 40 games total. Not that bad.

Now, here's where we had the difference of opinion: L3gendary wanted every match (example: UncleRuckus vs Qaza) to be a best of three. 40 multiplied by three is 120, which is the potential number of games to referee, much more than a single-elimination ro32. And with a total of 16 matches in a ro32, the number of potential games is only 48, which is ultimately what I went with. I think L3gendary feels like with a larger tournament staff, he can allow the players to play more games, so any help you can provide to whatever comes next will certainly be important.
