I'm really pleased with BW graphics, and in fact I really do prefer BW graphics over "super hyper ultra high" SC2 graphics any day, but I sincerely can't buy this golden ratio thing :s
BW graphics are really nice and I do not think it is due to this golden aspect ratio.

I just took a dump and the feces had an aspect ratio between 1:1 and 1:10, i.e. approximately the golden ratio.

I played BW on release and I still think you're full of shit. Also, what does that have to do with anything? BW elitism much? I like the clarity of BW graphics more than I like SC2's, but it's not like BW is the pinnacle of godly and untouchable graphics. Stop acting like it is.
