One thing to take into consideration when looking at average height is that people in the city of Seoul are taller. One could argue that it's either because city people are better off financially than rural folks, thus able to supply their children better food, or because all the people who wanna be in the 'in' crowd flock to Seoul, same way those who chase glitz and glamour go to NYC in the US. Either way, 173.9cm is the national average for males; the city's average is a lot higher (no source, just my impression from walking around... either the average is taller or short people all hide and don't come out at night lol), and Zero, being in the city, is probably surrounded by a crowd of people much taller than the national average. Plus it doesn't help that the entire male population is locked in a competition against one another regarding height, so even the tall ones go to great lengths to look even taller.. ex) my friend is 184cm, about 6'0.5" and wears shoes with 4cm soles and 5cm wedges inside so he can be ~6'4" lol.. I asked him why and he said if people who are 175cm can become his height with a boost he feels like he's 'losing out' by not compensating for those extra inches himself

No, I have no complaints about this one, Zero = sex maniac = the truth.

Also, for those commenting about height:

Shoes, the secret is in the shoes!

Every standard average Korean man knows that 2cm boost is the norm. I have a 2cm boost which became 1cm now (sigh need a replacement soon) in my everyday shoes. I have a slightly bigger boost on my good dress shoes which is about a 4-5cm boost. Height = confidence, I kid you not, the extra few centimetrers do matter. Idol stars (especially male) typically wear 2-7cm boosters (sometimes multiple) inside their shoes from what I've seen on various variety shows.

yea i have 4cm soles and an extra 3cm insole for my dress shoes I wear to interviews

SK is like one of the tallest Asian culture, i was actually amazed that they are almost like average European height, while Japanese(which i were more familiar with) are noticeably smaller on average. So it was weird to me hearing about their height problem.

Honestly, although Light doesn't have model/kpop looks, I'm sure not everybody is looking for that. He's average-looking, but I think he have a good down-to-earth, normal guy kind of vibe. I'm sure that is appealing to a lot of girls.

Bisu and Jaedong do talk to their fans after games... if there are fan-meetings. The same applies to Light. It's not that he specifically approached those fangirls of his after his matches but that the cameraman happened to catch him in the midst of a post-match fan-meeting.
