I feel like you need more practice explaining what the players are doing. I'm only 4 mins 30 into the first video, so far it seems like in a couple of months these casts would be great if you keep at it.
Subscribed anyway.

Edit: "LOL WTF HYDRAS", classy
Hmm I'm at 9:45, and I feel like if there was a downhill, that's where the casting went. Don't discuss individual units, talk about the overarching strategies. Theorycraft forward even, how could Leta combat the mass undetectable lurkers in his main, as opposed to the 'OMG LURKERS OMG OMG OMG LURKERS'

You might want to consider pre-watching the VOD's in future.

Edit 2: You sounded ill during the cast, those sniffles were possibly more annoying than anything else :D
I definitely feel like you should have pre-watched it and pre-planned at least some of what to say and when.

You no longer need to limit your videos to 15 minutes due to YouTube, all you have to do is add a phone number and then verify this. It's a lot nicer than having two parts to videos, unless you want a video with two parts. Like, "The X Saga, part 1" or something.

I subscribed. Good casting, good knowledge, good enthusiasm for the game, and great potential. No real complaints; considering you have only done a few commentaries so far, it is reasonable to expect that you will improve as a matter of fact, as you gain experience doing more commentaries. Keep up the good work. I will watch your videos.

I wouldn't really pay too much attention to the specific criticisms/suggestions; each person has their own specific preferences, and its never really possible to cater to them all (as far as I'm concerned, there are no significant flaws, or flaws worth mentioning at this point - the style of the commentator is up to the commentator). Certainly note useful suggestions, and consider implementing them, but its also important to do what is enjoyable and comfortable within the broader goal of providing entertaining and informative commentary (a lot of commentators have burned out, for one reason or another).

But definitely do not pre-watch vods in the future, as was suggested above; that is a terrible idea, for obvious enough reasons.

Obvious reasons? And those would be?

Him having some idea what to say in advance for the big battles would have made for a better cast. He can always act surprised/Yell to hype it up when he knows its a good moment.

Well, I'm not sure what specifically prompted your suggestion that he should watch videos (I assume its something to do with what he was saying during big battles) but I think a more desirable and effective solution, would come from simply casting more videos and getting more experience (it is harder to think of things to comment on, earlier on, but it gets easier with time).

Pre-watching videos however, is going to necessarily detract from key features of informative and entertaining commentary: for example, commentary involves the analysis of build orders, tactics, strategical play, possible outcomes, branches of action, etc, and if the commentator already knows the result of the game, his/her analysis is undermined from the perspective of a listener, and therefore uninteresting to say the least. Hopefully this reason is sufficient. There are also others. It wasn't my intention to offend anyone, but I don't think commentators should pre-watch videos.

yeah i don't know how people don't get this. Commentating isn't about knowing the answer. thats why even post live games make it hard to cast sometime. just cause you know schroddinger's (sp) box has been opened.

In my experience, do NOT watch the VODs beforehand. It's more a case of practice- that is your preparation.

I don't know if you've seen any of my casts (EleGant, for UED gaming), but believe me when I say that watching a game twice, or even just knowing the outcome makes it impossible to bring the same enthusiasm or provide a non-biased analysis.

Keep up the good work.
