Woongjin's very own free has been on a tear since receiving surgery on his wrist. Even though he only has a meager 2-1 record yet, he was fielded in the final set of SKT vs Woongjin on the 14th and crushed Bisu to signal his revival. After surgery, free has said his wrist is no longer in pain, and added that "even though I'm not in perfect condition, I am glad that that there is no strain during practice. I want to continue this momentum and show an improved version of myself."
Q How does it feel to close out the match for your team. A During practice, I aimed to not lose to any SKTelecom T1 Protoss users, since they are so strong these days. I am happy that my determination shone through today. I lost to SKTelecom Protoss' a lot in the past, so I always wanted to win.
Q Did it pressure you that your opponent was Bisu. A I always enjoy playing against the opponent team's ace. Since he did not show in the first few games, it became clearer and clearer that I would be matched up against him. If anything it made me feel more comfortable.
Q How much of the past dragon can we expect to see in free this season. A I practiced hard last season but my game play was unsatisfactory so I was very disappointed at myself. This season, my goal is to play games that I am satisfied with. Results will follow naturally then.
Q How do you think Woongjin will fare this season. A It feels like every team got a huge boost in their lineups. We were able to acquire sHy, but for some reason a lot of fans think our team is weak. We have a stellar veteran pool and shy is already looking promising, so I have no doubt we will perform well.
Q Why did you let your opponent come back from a disadvantage and win last game. A I was constantly afraid of an all-in bust so I cut probes often and ended up giving him a big economic advantage. That made me nervous and I committed to a timing push prematurely.
Q ZerO is now on a three-loss streak; any words of encouragement as a senior. A Zero still has time. This season there are no ace matches nor winners league, so there is no doubt that three losses in the beginning will be detrimental to competing for the most-wins title. Also, since Neo.G_Soulkey is on a three-win streak, Zero might even have a hard time retaining his position as the team's ace. However, I remember when I was in a big slump, once you break the losing streak, it's not too difficult to start winning again. Zero has a strong foundational basis and lots of experience, so he will undoubtedly regain his form. He just needs to break the streak as soon as possible.
Q How has the surgery affected you physically and mentally. A I am much more relaxed due to the lack of pain during practice. I'm still recovering but as of now it hasn't caused me any trouble during my games and I can finally concentrate on playing, so I am happy.
Q Your goals this season. A Getting Woongjin to playoffs. Personally, I will try to go for the most-wins title.
Q Any last words. A Zero is still crushing during practice, so it's hard for me to believe that he is 0-3. Our next match is against Team8, so I hope to play against Jaedong and deliver an awesome game.
Have protoss ever looked so strong? We got the original six Ds with Horang2, movie and all those promising Toss rookies coming up. Where are the up and coming Terran rookies? Flash and Fantasy can't hold on forever.
free vs JD would be an excellent matchup, a chance for jaedong to prove his PvZ is still god tier (at least as it is in practice as bisu attests to) and a chance for free to continue his winning streak and ruin more fpls :o
Oh free... I want to like you, I do. You just always seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Winning when you're on my anti team, then losing when I trade you away, then beating Bisu to screw my FPL over even more... T___T
like i said before the moment the number of people putting free on their ftl will be greater than the one putting him on the anti team is the moment free will lose for some reason people cant see that its a cosmic thing good thing i checked before the match and bet woonging lol now people will trade him from anti and he will lose to team 8

I didn't realize free was having issues with his wrists. :o Still, it's good to see him tearing shit up, even though I lost my liquibet cause of it. lol This is going to be free's season. I know it.
I have always loved Free. To me he has always been a cool badass. However, this win over Bisu means nothing. It was a pure BO win that was hard to fuck-up. I'm not convinced he is anywhere close to his old form.
I'm proud of you free. There can never be too many good protoss. It's still super early in the season, but with the exception of Kal it looks like the 6 dragons are on their way back to respectability.

The Dragons are back! Too bad Kal is still in training, as I'm sure he is eager to prove himself.
Mapsmapsmaps. We haven't seen much Terran fielded yet either. Flash is 2-0 correct? We've only seen fantasy one time and I'm sure Bogus will turn it around.

That was known before FPL when a small news article came out about his successful wrist surgery, and yet I still put him on my anti, I refuse to take him off!
Thanks for the translations ^_^

I don't wanna sound like too much of a pessimist but I'd be lying to myself if I agreed that Baby, Leta, Sea, and Light are even close to being comparable to the Six Dragons plus the new Toss rookies and Horang2 right now.

well you can take kal from that dragon list cause he is more like an egg than a dragon there are enough terrans its just protoss players in the last 2 years were kind of invisible a side jangby stork and bisu with jangby reappearing in last season its good we have a protoss comeback will change things a bit + we have plenty of terrans as well bogus furebathero etc etc and if baby is not an equivalent of a dragon than i dont know who is

How is it a build order win when its a decision made like 7 minutes into the game, and after you've been scouted? Bisu fans are ridiculous.

Because 1 gate nexus is a build order. 2 gate obs is also a build order. 1 gate nexus beats 2 gate obs cleanly if the robo player can't scout the nexus.
As a completely random sidenote: Dragoons are quite good against probes.

What? Woongjin has become a serious contender since 2010. With Soulkey emerging and the addition of Light they had a scary rooster since last year.
Woongjin has won before from SKT1 last year if I am not mistaken, even with the bo7 and ace format. I don't think they have what it takes to be the PL champion, but they are surely a force to be reckoned with, as is Samsung Khan, only STX, Ace and well KT(so far) currently seem to be drawing the short straw.

You need to watch more PvP. Or more SC in general. Being scouted in PvP is not really being scouted when the probe dies or leaves before it sees anything after core.

Bisu wasn't aggressive with his 2 gate and placed no pressure on Free (critical mistake 1) Bisu did no damage with his faster reaver tech (critical mistake 2) When noticing that he was behind he had goons in the middle of the map in an aggressive stance in between the bases instead of setting up in a defensive stance with reavers @base (critical mistake #3)
Basically, he was outplayed. Perhaps if he had been aggressive at the start with his 2 gate, free would reveal his build. Perhaps if he did some damage with his reavers, free wouldn't get that far ahead with his econ. Perhaps if bisu had a good concave at his base with reavers, he wouldn't have been obliterated so easily and come back into the game by evening out army and getting an expo.
Anywho, I think bisu played poorly and free played well. I don't think build order is the sole factor for bisu losing the game.
Side note: GO FREE! I don't care that you killed my anti team! Wreak havoc and bring forth the goons of war!

Go Free! Wish I had put him and Soulkey on my fpl out of blind fanboyism rather than trying to play smart t.t
I'm glad to hear Zero still doing well in practice even though it's kind of expected given his history and the ways he lost. I still think he has the best shot at beating top tier players from other teams, but I guess with this new format that isn't as important a characteristic.
Anyways, doesn't matter because we won! Free fighting! Woongjin fighting!

Bisu lost because he didn't place pressure with his 2 gate end of argument lol, I don't think he even knew about the nexus going up as fast as it did and that was his fault. But realistically you can't expect players to always know what their opponent is doing but reaver tech went up at around the same time for both players (i think?, not 100% sure on this, I know bisu got facility first)
nevertheless, free outplayed bisu this week, and as a huge bisu fan i was pretty dissapointed lol but I still blame SKT's loss on soo lol

Bisu went a safe build because he thought free might cheese him, considering Bisu is the better player... so he put down 2 gates before nexus to defend any kind of 3-gate aggression, but instead free went greedy and bisu didn't catch it in time because he stayed close to his base to defend any potential cheese. Bisu's robotics went up quicker than free's but again he wanted to play safe and went obs before shuttle/reaver, which would have been his last chance at winning the game. Once his obs saw free's nat, the game was pretty much over since free had mined an extra ~130x7=910 minerals by the time Bisu put down a nexus at his natural, which wasn't completed until many more minerals later.

No doubt, they're cock-of-the-walk right now.
Perhaps someone with more knowledge of PvP positioning will correct this, but it seemed that if Bisu had held the top of the ramp when Free was pushing up it and had landed reavers near the mineral patches, Bisu could have separated the reavers from a main army fighting uphill into a choke and forced a retreat.

Had Bisu held the top of the ramp, which he should have done, Free would not even try to break through. Maybe he would have gone around. Most likely he would have just stayed put and macro'd up more. The game would have lasted longer but Bisu would still be at a huge economic disadvantage.
