I think SC2 is way too lame of a game for Jaedong, but he might have no other choice if no other team can afford his salary.
And if he indeed switches, then SC2 lameness will be diminished because he will find a way to make it actually fun.
if boxer and july can't make SC2 fun, how would JD make it fun?
a player of jaedong's calibre would bring an amazing amount of hype to the stagnating pro sc2 scene in korea.
either way, people look too deep into netizen rumors/comments. of course jd is just visiting his old lecaf team mates -_-
Is the scene really stagnating in Korea, asking because I haven't seen tons of stuff about GSL failing and what not. Its never been huge in terms of spectators or people watching but I haven't got the impression people are already losing interest.
You actually mentioned the reason for its stagnation: it's the fact that it doesn't have the huge spectating in Korea when you contrast it with BW.
Because of that, it doesn't seem like people are losing interest because there wasn't a huge number that had interest in the first place. All of the are diehards staying around, while the few casual fans are fading away, thus it makes it seem like it isn't losing any steam.
There's certainly potential for SC2 in Korea once the expansions start rolling out, add that to the already huge popularity around the rest of the world and you'll have a game that may stay around for a while.
120 $ worth expansions might even kill SC2 in korea...
The game is cheaper over there, and blizz would not charge 60 dollars for the expansion. Just not happening.

I remember some interview on that. I think his coach said "he's been dancing more than he's been playing starcraft."
I don't think KT can get JD. They have Flash I think most of their money is tied to him. SKT might be able to...but i think STX and Khan will probably have a chance. maybe sneaky CJ will find a way too. Who knows I guess we'll see?
Personally I don't think JD will switch. No matter how good he is, he has a better and stable salary in BW. I hope he doesn't anyway.
People whom has switched are mostly gamers who didn't make anything in BW. It will probably be that way for a good while.
if jaedong moves to sc2, it would be the nail in the coffin for BW. in any case, whoever gets jaedong has to pay a lot of $$$; Korean SC2 teams are obviously at a disadvantage here...but who knows, they might be able to front the cash for Dong.
You know if JD switches to SC2 .. Blizzard is going to delay their expansion for a good 6 months to a year .. JD is game breaking .. I hope he doesn't switch. Aside from Flash & Bisu, other BW players just seems fodder for the scene and it's saddening ~.~

There's no reason to switch when you are already so dominant in a game though. There is still a reasonable level of stability left, and corporate money still involved in teams. I have a strong feeling he will be purchased by another proteam, and not switch... Yet.
Although I would absolutely do anything to see JD switch to SC2... He's the love of my gaming life <3~
I get how alot of people dont like the idea of jaedong switching to sc2... but there are a decent amount of people that would love to see it as well. However, a point I keep reading across this thread is "why would he switch when there is still so much money left in bw", and I just cant help but think how much money a foreign team (ex. EG, complexity) would pay to have him on their team without even making a splash into the sc2 scene prior. I kind of think a legend like jaedong would get a decent salary from switching, and I also remember that article a while back of him talking about how he eventually plans to switch and looks forward to promoting his name internationally. This is all just pure theory, and there still is not anything out there 100% suggesting that he is even considering switching to sc2 yet.

Last thing I remember was he saying it would take at least 4 years.
He expressed interest in SC2 months ago, and he said he would love to travel the world and compete in various tournaments, which he can do in SC2.
His brand name is so strong he would have zero trouble getting companies behind him sending him to MLG, Dreamhack and all those tournaments. So SC2 is a possibility.
I don't think any teams in SC2 has $200k+ sitting around to hire a new player atm...pretty sure no salary in SC2 comes even close to what Jaedong makes in BW.

yup this is pretty much why the chances of him moving to sc2 is slim. The best scenario would be if the entire Oz team moved to SC2 with jaedong. Same sponsors and all. haha but KESPA would never let that fly.

I just want to say this is wrong. Flash said something like 5 years but jaedong said this "It could be tomorrow, it could be a couple of years who knows". He doesn't know when he will switch so I am guessing if he can't get a salary he is happy with or something else happens he will switch to sc2.
I still would be sad if he moved to sc2, and want him to at the same time. I just hope news of something comes soon I am so curious what team he is joining or what his plan is!
