BoxerR's retirement gift to Yellow: Given Yellow's comments about Boxer switching to SC2, this seems a little passive-aggressive from the Emperor. wat were his comments on boxer switching? i mustve missed it That it was disgraceful and stuff. According to Boxer's fiance, the box was actually empty. They're holding the CD for him in the SlayerS house for when (if) he decides to switch to SC2, along with a SlayerS uniform for him. I wonder how much Boxer is trying to coax over BW players, or if this is a special thing just for Yellow. Okay that's just lame if it's true, why would Yellow fall for those antics if he already called Boxer out on switching.
Fall for those antics? He's being a genuinely nice guy by offering a position on one of the strongest teams in SC2 right now.

Those antics may be more persuasive than we thought: Yellow was at the GSL last night, doing player intros.
He's also said he "wasn't ruling out" SC2.
I wonder if he's trolling us a bit, though.

Yellow working at GOM before the code A broadcast.
|
Yellow, during the filming, said that "The ID Call filming is really interesting and different", and remarked that "I would like help out in the Starcraft 2 leagues in any way possible"
Interesting interesting.
Adding fuel to the rumors, there's a SlayerSYellow on the ladder, but SlayerS_Jessica (Boxer's fiance head of SlayerS) has said that it's a fake (which should be obvious because it's missing the underscore, and the real Yellow capitalizes the OW in his name).
GSL finals have a reputation for....sucking...so GOM started putting in "undercards". I would not at all be surprised to see a YellOW vs Boxer Bo5 showmatch before a finals in the not too distant future. I think Yellow played some SC2 alpha blizzcons, but that might have been a different Yellow (he was playing Protoss).
As for switching full-time....enh? Maybe? He does seem to be teasing it quite a bit, but maybe he's intending to be moving into more of the business side of e-sports.

It's sounding like he wants to get in to the management or production side of things of Sc2 if anything. I don't care either way -- it'd just be cool if he found a way to stay in eSports.

That's my read, too. It's interesting that he's feeling out the production side of a game he's not a legend in (Wolf and qxc didn't even recognize him!), but I guess there's a logic to that. He can kind of waltz in to a decent position based on his name recognition, and then be established and experienced there by the time Boxer/July/Nada retire, let alone before MMA or Sage or whatever becomes a legend of SC2 and then retires. Obviously he can get a decent position in BW because of his experience, but he's be a big fish in a small pond as an SC2 commentator or show host or whathaveyou.
And if the SC2 thing doesn't pan out, he always has the option of going back to BW (from a non-playing standpoint, ofc).

Will always <3 [NC]...Yellow :D

The only thing I know about Yellow is him losing to Boxer's bunker rush, that and it still says he's Power Rank 2 on the sidebar of TL.
Why quit if he's doing so well?

Oh god. XD
He's an old school player. He hasn't played (or won) a televised match in ages. Hehe.

I feel like seven months counts, but to each his own, haha.

Now that I think about it, it's SC 2 so Yellow would surely be successful.

I honestly do not understand this xenophobic attitude some people here have. HOW did he betray BW? Honestly, answer that with a straight forward objective answer.
You're not even a real fan, to be honest. You're not even looking this from Yellow's perspective. And to be frank that sickens me that you can make such a disgusting statement and also proclaim that you don't like him anymore, like he OWES you something.
What would you have him do? Sit on the KT bench all the time, never having a chance to play in PL nor even advance past the MSL and OSL prelims? Is that what Yellow should still be doing? Being useless as far as being a player goes? Is him moving on with his life mean that he's KILLING BW or something? This goes the same with Boxer, Nada and July. Were they meant to spend the rest of their careers simply being bench-warmers for their respective teams or just become coaches?
Did you even think about what THEY want? Did it occur to you that maybe some of them want to advance their pro-gaming careers further in another environment? Or must they cater to people like YOU who demand they stay in only one area for their entire lives? Who are you to say they're betraying BW? Will BW suddenly experience a massive upheaval that will tear it asunder?
No, you're just a xenophobic BW elitist. You're just as bad as some of the SC2 fanatics here.
Really, you're not intelligent with your hate. It's bigoted, biased and you insult Yellow by even claiming to like him. Do not post again about this

Sad to see Kong retire but atleast he was doing it before the PL playoffs so KT wont be jinxed in the final against SKT like in the recent WL final .
Actually Yellow had some epic matches in his latest years. His recent wins against Bisu, Leta and Jaedong are going to be remembered by many, myself included. Too bad he didnt win any majors (MSL/OSL) but it's not like he didnt win any tournaments - he picked up the King og Kings tournament and the KPGA(MBC) winners championship. Also the maps were terrible for Zerg back in the day.
Anyway I feel like his semifinal loss against Casy in Shinhan1 was the most heartbreaking of his losses. He really deserved to win that OSL (he overcame some very hard maps for zerg) and he never really came back after that.
