Could you recommend me some 2v2 or 3v3 maps where the map is split symmetrically in two parts? Like Iron Curtain (link seems broken here, do you know where can I download it?) where the map is split with the wall and allies can spawn on same or opposite sides? It can be island, like mentioned, or open, with a choke. Thank you in advance, I do believe I'm in the right forum subsection, since there is no strategy involved.

A long time ago I made a shared base 3v3 map which I never published online. I made it with the intention of encouraging expanding more, although rushes are still very strong.

If you are interested in playing it, I can try to find it and post it online.

Ahh Iron Curtain was the best 2v2 map ever.. the ammount of times I used that in cw's with KwarK and we raped shit up was unbelievable.

Hm, shared alllied bases I found hard to find so I wound up making my own. It's not professional, but it might be worth a look. I had a lot of prototypes and failed attempts, but this was my best effort.

Description: It's not 3v3, but rather with shared bases in 4 corners it has the ability to be 2v2, 2v2v2, 2v2v2v2, 4v4, etc. (With my friends we tend to go 2v2v1.) UMS will have teams of 2 spawn together.

Warning: Although I tried to apply Nightmarjaroo's Map Making Guide, it will look a little different as I was trying to accommodate for nooby friends that don't like to expand. It's meant to be a halfway step between BGH/ Fastest Possible big money maps and the low money pro-maps. Hence the safe expansions behind the mains. (Although the back is droppable AND all minerals and vespene are low money/ not stacked.)

We found the 2nd map great, but the first is perhaps a bit too volatile. If you have other recommendations, it would be great.

I only just found this thread and wanted to post before it becomes too old. Ive actually been working on a new 3 vs 3 map for the last few weeks. Similar to oxidized's map, it will also make the teams spawn together on the same side of the map. I have based my map on bloody ridge but adapted for 6 players. And its nearing completion! Im partly writing this to motivate myself to finish it and partly to say thankyou for sharing your maps 'oxidized' and 'Falling'. Ive downloaded them and will check them out soon.

If anyone else has a team map they are working on speak up!

Have you tried Maps > Brood War > Allied?

You can play those in UMS too if you want a specific ally.

If you haven't ever tried it, I would strongly recommend playing team games the old-school way. For me these shared base maps in sc2 make the team games wayyy less enjoyable and not as entertaining.

Oh right this thread. I was trying to make a shared base island map when this was started, but I lost most of it during a windows reinstall. Put me off mapmaking for months, but I'm starting to feel inspired again. (Now mind you, I'm pretty newb at mapmaking.)

I finally finished the map above as did Falling. Mines released as 'Blueprint' and his is released as 'The Dead Marshes'.
