The dong dong dong dong dong~
-How do you feel about getting the first win? > Naturally, I won. If I can get into the Ro8 next week, I'd be even happier.
-Was preparation more difficult because the opponent was new? >Due to the fact that he was the new guy, it was assumed that I would have no problem winning. This gave me quite a bit of pressure. As a result, I took the preparation even more seriously; I simply cannot lose.
-Have you thought about who you will be playing in the Ro8? >I haven't gave it much thought. I would like to show my ZvP, however.
-You didn't look too happy about winning. Are you not satisfied with your current level of performance? >The perspective between the player and the audience is very different. Although the commentator stated it was a great match, I was not satisfied with myself. During the match, I became very aggravated which resulted in a sloppy mid game. My opponent's counter attack also caught me by surprise. Therefore, it was not a perfect win, so I might have shown my displeasure afterward.
-The queen was used. >I have been practicing this build quite a bit and the queen could've been on the field a lot sooner. The over-simplistic style of attacking is another reason to why I wasn't satisfied with today's game. If the queen was out earlier, I could've won in a much more convincing manner.
-How do you plan to prepare for the remaining matches? >Today's map was in my favor and I still performed poorly. I am very disappointed in myself and will use this as a lesson in preparation for next match.
-Any last comments? > I want to thank the two terran, Speed and Bee, for helping me practice. Our terran are all very nice people. Please don't view them as unhelpful!
PS - thank you sillylaughs for the last part!

Hydra - liskuuu!
Q: You have the advantage now on the path to the Ro 8. A: First off, I was fortunate to have won the first game and will prepare for the next game with a happier mood.
Q: Quite the economic play during the early game. A: I wanted to set up my economy into a three base play but my opponent took the middle very quickly. I hastily made a bunch of hydras to attack. Stork may have forgot to research storm so I got lucky and won.
Q: When did you think you've won the match? A: When I realized my opponent did not research storm, I felt like victory was within my grasp.
Q: Looks like lady luck is with you, do you feel you can win MSL? A: After the group ceremony, I felt I can go very far in this MSL. It is only the Ro 16 right now, so I can't say much. I just want to focus on the task at hand.
Q: If you can defeat Stork, you may be able to advance to later stages of the MSL. Are you confident you can win? A: Stork's PvZ is superb so I had a lot of pressure when I was preparing. If I practice really hard, I am confident I can win. It'll come down to how much I prepared.
Q: Any last comment? A: I want to thank my team for helping me during practice and the fans who came out here today to cheer for me. I will do my very best and get to the Ro 8!

Calm vs Hyuk interview below!
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=217502
Let there be light!
-That was fiercely long battle! >My opponent is Mind so a lot of folks said it will be an attrition warfare. This is what I had in mind as well, so I prepared a long term battle plan. Throughout the battle, I thought it may end in a tie. However, my opponent made small mistakes which I took advantage of, and it added up to a lucky win for me.
-You seem to possess the talent for long term engagement. >It's nothing like that. Truthfully, I make mistakes too, such as missing the timing for ridge advantage. I will prepare more thoroughly for next match and demonstrate my strategic capability.
-You didn't think about playing a quick game for today. >Our previous record was 2:4, for me, but I noticed I never lost if it reached late game. This lead me to play a more drawn out game today.
-Evaluate your current strength. >In my opinion, I am not performing well. The others may think I am doing just fine but if that was the case, I would not have missed the 12 o'clock and other advantageous locations. Once I start to over think, I was not playing as smooth; otherwise, I could've ended this much earlier.
-Do you plan to employ similar tactic next time? >It was a 44 minutes battle this time; I'll try to shorten it next time.
-Any last comment? >My plan for today was to outlast my opponent. We will battle it out again next time. I will not let my guard down, and will be fully prepared for the next match.

Which is a good thing, Jaedong is not an arrogant player, he knows his flaws when he sees them, and he learns, adepts and crushes those flaws :>.
Thanks for the interview!, Jaedong will easily go to the Ro8 really.

Yes it was a rather sloppy game for JD. And he recognized it, so he'll work harder now to prevent that in the future right? <3
Except he better not burn himself out again. Ugh >.>

Stork take this scrub out!

that Jaedong game was really strange. I thought he was outplaying Reality qutie a lot when he droped the 5 o'clock expo. Then the stream died for 2-3 min and when it got back up, Reality was sieging two of Jaedong's expos and it looked like he was going to lose. And then in the end Jaedong pulled a comeback win. Stange.
It's also strange that he finds Dante's peak favorable for zerg vs terran!

Thanks for the translation. Jaedong seems a bit too hard on himself at times, but I guess that makes him a better player.
|
Jaedong is not pleased unless his opponent is thoroughly and completely destroyed in every facet of the game. No doubt that mentality is what makes him so damn scary and consistently dominant. I thought that game was very good and the fact that JD didnt like his performance after that win just proves why he deserves to be one of the two best players in BW.
|
This is honestly why I love Jaedong and respect the crap out of Flash. They set the standard for themselves so high, and you never(rarely?) hear excuses when they don't meet them. Gotta respect the mentality it takes to be as good as they are.
|
Now this is the Tyrant I know. Always finding a way to perfect himself and utterly crush his opponent. I can feel it - he's gonna go all the way this time!

I like it that Jaedong is criticizes his own gameplay, there were moments in the game where he was dangerously close to losing. Minimizing and preventing those kinds of moments is pretty much a job-requirement. (can't rely too much on opponent screwing up)

God stork, there's no reason for you to fail here. :s
|
Good that Hydra recognize the fact that he won partially, if not utterly, due to his opponent's silliness. Props to him for that.

God I love jaedong, he's like the only player who doesn't ever complain about maps and only his own playing. No matter what even on the most imba terran/protoss map he wouldn't complain (least in all the interviews I have read of him ).
Mad respect Jaedong, hope you win the MSL! ^_^

Thanks for translation! I really wanna see what Stork has to say about that game though... haha.
