What is Expression Number? A number derived from all of the letters in your full birth date make up what is called the Expression or Destiny number. Although this number is called both of these names, throughout this site it will be referred to as the Expression number. This is the number that describes the talents and attitudes at your disposal in this lifetime, if you choose to develop and use them. This is sometimes referred to as your potential or destiny. Hehe I tried both my names "RY" and "RYSHI" and they both add up to 7. Number 7 fits me quite well, but then I looked at the numbers and realized they could have fit just as well.

My conclusion, despite that I got 5 which is pretty accurate, is that this result is soooo wrong that it invalidates the whole thing, so much in fact that this thread should be closed and the word numerology bannable on this forum.
this is kind of stupid. If you read the definitions, just like astrology all the meanings are exactly the same and are open for interpretation of the reader. The only difference with this is it requires a couple of minutes of math to actually figure out out what your horoscope is.
Mine was 4,and to be honest is damn right. I had a book about Numerology,and this thing isnt a thing to joke around with,really serious things are the ones u can learn from this about yourself. Great Job!

And I got number 3, which is almost opposite of my personality.
Wow I got a #9 which is like the furthest you could get from my personality. I did like the 22 from my SC2 name (because I am egotistical) so I will stick with that. Proving my pride and lust for power can overcome any innate love of humanitarianism if I try hard enough.

Haha, lol. The Number I've got, Number 7, is describing me almost exactly. Not only in a way that what it describes is true, but the description also focuses on my by biggest characteristic and personal traits.

i got 6 and its kinda true, but i tend not to rely on these kind of things to tell me who i am cuz we are always changing and the rocks in space cant tell me how i am or what ever the source is if u think about it and read each one of em you will c that you can relate to 90% of them cuz they are too general in a sense, its playing with you head

I see it like this, it's like fastest possible map in BW. It's obviously not the way to play the game competitively. Who finds enjoyment in it though can play it as much as he wants. I don't mind people playing it (or people calculating their personality based on their name), but if it would be shoved into my face and I would be forced to play it, or it would be in the Starleagues, I would have a problem with that. Same goes with the front page, which is an official part of tl.net and which pretty much should represent the best tl.net has to offer. So I am kind of annoyed by this appearing there.

Let's see. This thread got 11,000 views so far and out of the 131 posts, 99% of them enjoyed doing this because it's all just for fun. You are making it sound like people like me, who really care about contributing something new to the BW threads beyond what happens in Korea not want to take the time to write fun things like this up. But I worked hard on this and I'm proud that it got spotlighted because it encourages me to add more to TL and make it a better place.

I don't really get what you mean with the second sentence. but you make it seem that I am doing a personal attack. In fact what you did with the progamers is a good example of how you can fit those personality descriptions on anything (here the progamers that don't even speak our language, and of whom we pretty much only know their public personalities from games and interviews).
In any case: Would you agree that I should voice my concerns, if my definition of 'a better place' differs from your definition of 'a better place'? And, related to the topic again, isn't it interesting to find out why people feel like there is some merit to this?

Perhaps as someone else suggested, if everyone were to read each description and choose the personality that most represented them prior to calculating their number. Even an informal test like that would be fun. ^^

Yeah, the site that you linked didn't cite the source for that claim either. I suspect that even if we were to agree on who throughout history could be considered a general and did the numerology calculations for all of them, that the distribution of generals would probably be evenly spread among all the number possibilities. The best part though is that this is a testable empirical claim, so we shouldn't take my word for it.

Fun thread. I can see bits of me in each one, so I don't see what part is actually true or not. Personally I think these are too general to be effective, but it's a fun distraction from me doing homework and laundry. Yay!

Never been one for horoscopes and things like this, but my real name and my assumed name BOTH came up with the same number, and when I read the description for my number, it described me so well it even stated my desired PROFESSION.

It is surrounded in skepticism, like the "I Ching", astrology, and many other... arts, however trying to say that numerology is represented just by this name analysis is like saying all Starcraft is, is just building some zerglings and atacking destructible rocks..

It would be really swell if, when people say things like "This isn't bullshit" they actually took the time to back it up with something in the very same post to actually convince people it wasn't bullshit.
Then again, it'd be really swell if people who believed in things like this could all just stop breathing and do the world a favor, but you obviously can't expect too much from people...

See, the problem with this reading is that it lists negative characteristics as well, some more insulting than others. Cold reading doesn't work if you say bad things about the person. I believe that some of the disadvantages were described in less insulting terms was meant to provoke a kind of 'IT'S TOTALLY ACCURATE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT" argument amongst people.
I remember being pretty disappointed in the result for the Myers Briggs test (which is supposed to be vaguely more scientific) when I took it. I had a friend who said 'what are you talking about, that describes you perfectly!" and said that hers was accurate about her too. Well of course she thinks so, she got the cool one! Or rather, she got the cool version of mine, since they were identically except mine was lame version.
If you think of any positive characteristic, you can find some moment in your life where you've embodied it and it was true. If you think of a negative characteristic on the other hand, it's very likely that unless it's balanced by a good one, you're going to reject it as hardly ever being accurate.

Bahaha, I don't believe in anything supernatural, but the idea that Jaedong doesn't persevere through pure determination seems comically mismatched. Even Flash has said Jaedong works harder. And Flash is a great player but leader? Not sure about that either.
