The only fun in this is to see how it fools people from a psychological point of view. + Show Spoiler + Just have a couple of vague personality descriptions. Those fit everyone partially, and when you want them to fit, you can fit every one of those to yourself. One prime example would be "you are a bit introverted, but can also be extroverted in certain situations". That fits just about, well, everyone. When you read those descriptions, there is stuff that doesn't fit, but that gets ignored when you find something that fits you. The stuff that does fits then gets the effect of "oh hey that IS pretty accurate", and some general stuff that kind of fits situationally even adds to that. And then different people saying that their description is accurate only adds to the feeling, that there actualy is something to it. Then have some arbitrary basic math. It can't be anything advanced, because then people (especially people who fall for this stuff, sorry to sound arrogant) wouldn't be able to figure it out and wouldn't bother. And of course it doesn't bother people that the basis of the calculation, the name, is completely arbitrary as well. How this nonsense gets front paged is beyond me. It's front paged because this is fun to do. I'm sure the vast majority of the people doing this knows it's more or less arbitrary bs. But it's still amusing. Imma 7 woooooo! "Me and people like me"? I wouldn't have bothered at all with this thread, had it not been on the frontpage. I don't mind it as long as it is not in my face. And well, for me it's fun to be a smartass about stuff like this. I see it like this, it's like fastest possible map in BW. It's obviously not the way to play the game competitively. Who finds enjoyment in it though can play it as much as he wants. I don't mind people playing it (or people calculating their personality based on their name), but if it would be shoved into my face and I would be forced to play it, or it would be in the Starleagues, I would have a problem with that. Same goes with the front page, which is an official part of tl.net and which pretty much should represent the best tl.net has to offer. So I am kind of annoyed by this appearing there. http://numerology.findyourfate.com/expression-number.htm Expression #s: Made up from your full name, expression # results are entirely different in the above link http://numerology.findyourfate.com/lifepath-number.htm Life Path #s: Made up from your birth date, life path # results are what was included in the OP yet OP used Expression # methodology. Was fun though, when I used the OP's material I got 6 for my full name which was incredibly accurate (I even read through all of them and 6 remains the most accurate by far). With the PROPER expression # results, I got something that was pretty inaccurate.

I don't really get what you mean with the second sentence. but you make it seem that I am doing a personal attack. In fact what you did with the progamers is a good example of how you can fit those personality descriptions on anything (here the progamers that don't even speak our language, and of whom we pretty much only know their public personalities from games and interviews). In any case: Would you agree that I should voice my concerns, if my definition of 'a better place' differs from your definition of 'a better place'? And, related to the topic again, isn't it interesting to find out why people feel like there is some merit to this?
