Hi
I was for long time intrigued by starcraft: brood war, and finally I bought this game today and downloaded and installed ICcup-server. But I had no idea how to play the game after logging in. I tried to join in some games from the lobby, but they kicked me out and even banned from there.
Then I decided to download and instal that anti-hack launcher, and after that I cannot even log in to iccup-realm because the game says that application is not valid and maybe has virus. I uninstalled the anti-hack launcher but it did not help.
Can someone help me, I really want to play the game.
And if someone has time, I would appreaciate some practise partner.
Thank you.

If you just run the ICCUP Launcher it should run the anti-hack automatically i thought..

1. iccup launcher, 2. open port 6112
|
Where do i get iccup launcher?

|
I did all that
except that first part

Needs to be patch 1.16. You can download that in the Starcraft Files section of the iCCup website.

it says that i need to have a certain version before that patch, and i dont have it

Did you try to connect to BNet first to patch the game automatically?
|
|
But you did not try or could not connect for some reason? If the latter, please, specify.

I can not connect to battle net either because application is not correct or there maybe virus.
This came after i installed anti hack launcher.

A lot of anti-virus programs flag ICCup's AH as a trojan. I think Norton actually just deletes some files without even telling you. Just disable your anti-virus and re-install everything.
Also, you could try using ICCup's version of BW rather than the one you bought.

In that case, definitely try un-installing everything, then downloading ICCup's BW version from the FTP link.

i think somehow you corrupted the starcraft.exe file. anyway, i recommend uninstalling and reinstalling again. download patch 1.16.1 and if you want to play without cd, follow these instructions after patching. then download the iccup launcher, install it and log on to the iccup server and play. that's how it usually goes for me. are you using vista or windows 7? u can google the solutions for support issues. edit: do not replace starcraft.exe with any kind of cracks -_-

When you try to connect to b.net, do it with starcraft.exe, not with iccup launcher or it will say that antivirus thing.

I have reinstalled starcraft, and installed that iccup server thing
what now? should i download maps? where do i put them?
|
yea, download them and put them in \maps\broodwar\
that way you'll see the iccup map folder as soon as you try to create the maps. or... you can put the maps themselves in the \maps\broodwar\ folder if you want to see them when you try to create.
when playing 1v1, use the game mode one on one, and speed on fastest, make melee versions of maps. for 2v2, use top vs bottom mode. for playing with friends, you can use 1v1 maps on melee, or obs maps on use map settings.
you can use /j op teamliquid to join the tl channel (or /j <chan name> for other channels)
/motw for the maps of the week list, they give more points when you win
/f add <name> is to add someone to your friends list /f remove <name> removes /f m is for messaging everyone on the list /f o to see who of your friends is online and where (game name or channel); note: you'll only be able to see where they are if they added you too /f l lists all your friends and if they're online and where /w <name> is to whisper someone a msg /ignore <name> squelches someone
now, when making games, try to make motw maps, and name them like "1v1 <rank> <map/short map name>". so, for example: 1v1 D+ Python. try to avoid joining games that aren't for your rank, because most people will ban you.

Okay thanks
btw should i download anti-hack launcher too?
|
yea, ofc, always use the iccup antihack launcher. that way you get more points when you win. also, 80% of people will ban you if you don't have the antihack launcher.
use /ah to see if the antihack is on.
besides, the launcher has many cool features, like lan latency, which makes microing and playing a lot easier. then, it has the autoreplay feature that saves your replays automatically (in \maps\replays\autoreplay\).
if you want to watch the last replay, just find the last replay there, or load up LastReplay.rep in the \maps\replays\ folder.
/f add bmk.Quirinus if you need any help
