+ Show Spoiler + the terran (who I understand was heavily favored in the match) proxied rax in the middle of the map, and the protoss using 1 dragoon and a shield battery managed to hold it off and come out with a win If anybody knows what game I'm thinking of, I'd appreciate it if you could post a link. It was pretty awesome to watch. | ||

Update 1. Ever since embedded videos began to load within spoilers, the OP of this thread had become nearly unloadable (unless your profile was set to not embed videos—which, btw, is a good idea since the spoiler change), so I changed the format of the OP to link to VODs rather than embed them, and updated all the old ones. 2. I updated the VODs that were in the main list of the OP and had stopped working. The problematic ones were VODs from the MSL: as a result of copyright takedown notices from MBC, all MSL VODs on the nevake account have been set to private. In most cases, I was able to find equivalent VODs on Youku. In the case of game #32 (Rainbow vs. Goodfriend on R-point in the Cyon MSL), I couldn't find another VOD for it, so I moved it back to the Games without VODs section. 3. To replace game #32, I added game #112 to the main list: 112.  HoeJJa vs ZerO; Empire of the Sun; Proleague; 2010-11-10VOD + Show Spoiler [What makes this unusual?] + After one player blows a build-order advantage, he turns to some unorthodox play to try to get back into it. Very close, rather unusual game. + Show Spoiler [more revealing detail] + 2-base hive play in a ZvZ + Show Spoiler [Worth watching? Some stats, just for the heck of it. These were compiled from the 41 games in the "Hall of Fame" (i.e. games many people saw and many people liked). 'Most Unusual Maps' 1. Andromeda (3 appearances) 2-7. Aztec/Blue Storm/Heartbreak Ridge/Holy World/Monty Hall/Nemesis (2 appearances) 'Most Unusual Players' 1. Bisu (7 appearances) 2. Jaedong (5 appearances) 3-5. FanTaSy/Hiya/July (3 appearances) 6-13. boxer/free/iloveoov/Kal/sAviOr/Stork/YellOw/ZerO (2 appearances) (If you want to count different versions of a map as one: add Byzantium/Byzantium 2 and Requiem/Neo Requiem) | ||

My first immediate suggestion (which actually relates to my thread) would be to create a "Lockdown" or "Ghost" category. Would that be feasible? I noticed there is a "Mind Control" category already (I know mind control is usually more of a game changer though). Also, I always wondered if it would be possible to generalize this whole idea. Has anybody here ever thought about creating a database and registering the games there? When registering the game, things like those below could be associated with the game, and searching for specific things would be very cool:
I know there is quite a few people here that track every Brood War game. It would be a simple matter of somebody who would be in charge of registering those games in this database. Anyways, I will CERTAINLY watch most of the videos in the OP still. This thread is almost a dream come true to me, thanks a lot qrs! | ||
