I didn't see this interview up yesterday and thought, "Hmm, when I wake up, I bet it'll already be translated!" And then I woke up and saw that it wasn't, and had a D: expression on my face. Well, you finally get your interview now! (Should I be called “Clean-up translator” from now on? Make that into an acronym? CUTter? Nah that doesn’t work, and can be misinterpreted in so many different ways… ANYWAY-)
Violet: “I still have a lot of things to work on”![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/Gf7JC.jpg) Violet, with a band-aid on his face for his... battle scars? On January 23, KT’s Violet in the Shinhan Winners’ League 10-11 season Round 3 Week 3 continued his 3 kill record from Hwaseung Oz to STX SouL and pulled his team to victory. Violet, who fell into a slump in the 1st and 2nd round, has finally been resurrected, which is definitely good news for KT Rolster. Violet showed us his modest attitude by saying, “I still have a lot of things to work on,” as we listened to his thoughts on today’s match.
Q: Your thoughts on getting your second 3rd kill record today A: It’s regrettable that I wasn’t able to end it with an all-kill, but since I was a huge help to our team’s victory, I’m satisfied with myself today. In order to get even more wins and aim for an all-kill, I’ll practice even harder starting from tomorrow.
Q: This is the 2nd time that you’ve let the chance of an all-kill slip away. Were you overexcited over the chance of getting an all-kill again in the 3rd set? A: I wasn’t overexcited over the chance of being able to get an all-kill. I started feeling really down in the last game. I usually practice a lot on that map (Empire of the Sun), but my strength from practicing a lot on that map didn’t come out, so I had a bad game.
Q: Your games against Zergs today were very smooth. Did you suddenly receive enlightenment in PvZ? A: I didn’t particularly receive any special enlightenment or anything like that. I prepared various strategies as usual, but since I’ve been playing a lot in the Winners’ League, it seems that I’m just riding my momentum and things are falling into the right places. I thought that I was only going to get at least 3 kills today, so I prepared a lot to go all the way to the 3rd set on Aztec. That’s why since I prepared a lot, I was able to make 3 kills again. I didn’t practice that well for my last game, but it’s more regrettable that I keep on not being able to show my true potential and being unable to get an all-kill.
Q: Protosses are winning a lot against Zergs these days. Why do you think they’re winning so much recently? A: It looks like Protosses are winning a lot against Zergs recently because Bisu is too good against Zergs, but isn’t it because Bisu is just doing well all by himself (laughs)? It seems that when I face off against Zergs, luck seems to kick in. My personal opinion is that I don’t feel really overwhelmed or intimidated by those players’ force. I just think that my luck is getting even better these days. Since I’m still lacking in many things, I don’t really think that I’m in the position to say, “Protoss is doing really well these days” or something like that.
Q: After you made 3 kills, when it came down to 3:3, your heart must have been pounding. A: It wasn’t like that, but since I didn’t really have a good game in the 4th set, my spirit was drained, and since my teammates that went up after me were losing, the thoughts of if I had just done an all-kill, then our team would have a huge advantage and wouldn’t have to suffer through all this kept on plaguing my mind. If I had made an all-kill, then my winning percentage would have gone above 50%, but since I lost this week, I let the chance I created to exceed 50% barely slip away from me again. There are many things left to be disappointed about.
Q: You are really active in Winners’ League nowadays A: Ever since I was first introduced to Winners’ League, I’ve always had the confidence that I would do really well in it. But I always do badly in it. That’s why I’m still lacking in many things. Even though I have 2 continuous 3 kills right now, I don’t think that equals to outstanding results or ability. I just think that I got really lucky. That’s the reality I’m feeling right now.
Q: Any last words you want to say? A: First, I want to thank my teammates for helping me out with practice. Although I’ve made my 2nd 3 kill record, I feel like I still have a lot of flaws to work on, so by working even harder, I’ll try my best not to be unprepared again and achieve better results in the future.
Flash: “Even though I’m not doing a whole lot these days, I’m still happy”![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/aJHNQ.jpg) Cute, but deadly. If there’s anyone that can figure out a “sense of security” in Proleague, then it’s no one other than KT’s Flash. Even though the most wins he earned so far was against defeating SK Telecom’s Bisu, his winning percentage of 92.6% can surely be called a “godly winning percentage”. Flash as the “Final Boss” has shown us that he can support his team and also be able to show off KT’s strength in Winners’ League. [T/N: “Finale King” means something along the lines of “King of Clean Up Duty”, since Flash always comes out and wipes the floor in the last/final set. Fomos used the more badass nickname of “Final Weapon”, but everyone knows that funny > badass. Edit: I changed the more literal translation of "Finale King" to "Final Boss" due to everyone's suggestions. Thanks for the input! :D]
Q: Your thoughts on finishing off with a victory for your team A: Since it was the last match and Bogus was in a situation where he was under a lot of pressure to win a victory for his team, I knew that he would try to play safely. But since he did a completely different strategy from what I was originally expecting, I did fall into a bit of a panic, but since I was able to play without getting flustered and reacted instantaneously, I’m happy that I won. I had that sense that he would try something funny from the start which wasn’t shown that well on the broadcast [T/N: how he reacted accordingly to Bogus’s strategy with lightning-fast reflexes], but by overcoming it and winning in the end, I’m even happier that I was able to win.
Q: Since your team was in a situation of getting 3 reverse kills and had their tail caught, you were sent out. A: Even though we were in a position where we had our tail caught, my mind was somewhat relaxed, so I just went out there to do what I could. Although I knew that if I lost, that meant that the whole team lost as well, but I tried to deal with the situation by being as relaxed as possible. Still, since the prospect of 3 reverse kills loomed over us, I did feel the pressure on me. Since I was able to overcome the mental pressure and win, it seems that I played exactly as I should have today. Even though the second half of the game wasn’t some big macro fest, I’m satisfied with the results as they are.
Q: Weren’t you burdened to face off against Bogus who’s been doing well in Winners’ League recently? A: I’ve always had the mindset of no matter who has a strong force, I have not that bad of a force as well, and the outcome of who comes out on top is unknown until we face off against each other. Today, Bogus’s momentum was one that pierced the skies and was good. However, since I have my own play and confidence, I wasn’t intimidated by his momentum and just played like I always do. [T/N: This answer sounds really funky in English, I know, and it sounds just as complicated in Korean as well. Basically, Flash’s saying that no matter who he faces, he doesn’t get intimidated because he knows that he’s got self-confidence in himself, and he relies on his own style. He has this tone that he really likes Bogus’s momentum and sort of this “Bogus was a worthy opponent” tone. I can see why people call Flash arrogant now, but it’s not the really arrogant kind of cockiness he has, but the “I have confidence in myself, so why should I think about losing” kind of attitude. Sorry if you got even more confused after reading this. ><;;]
Q: Recently, the other players in KT have been participating actively and contributing to a complete victory in Winners’ League. [T/N: Recently, you guys aren’t really KTFlash anymore. Thoughts?] A: It’s really great news to me. Stats and Violet hyung have been really solid recently, and since everyone is steadily improving, I’m really happy. Since the other players have plenty of room to improve on, I’m anticipating how much their efforts will come to fruit. It seems that soon we will show our old selves as the team that won the championship last year. We must try to do our best in the upcoming rounds.
Q: You have the important role of being the “Final Boss” in KT. A: I have plenty of desire to try to want to get victories in every round. Since that desire is connected to my want for our team to win, I have enough desire to try to make it happen. Even if I come out as the first player and lose, I don’t care, as long as our team wins in the end. Right now, our team’s victory is essential. The event that I suddenly lose early in Winners’ League will happen at least once, but that will be kept to a minimum so that our team can rise to the top and catch up to SK Telecom who is in 1st place.
Q: What do you think of your nickname “Final Boss”? A: Since it seems like people think very highly of my role, I’m really happy about it. I haven’t lost as the “Final Boss” yet. I’m always strong when it comes to important matches, and I show off my true potential especially in important matches. When I go out in those kind of matches, I can feel something like a burning sensation inside of me. I like how they call me that nickname, and it seems to have a positive effect on me. If it gets to around the 7th set, a lot of fans come. Since my strength in important matches is recognized, I’m happy that it seems like I’m displaying good results, and I think that I can do even better in the future.
Q: In your previous interview, you told Bisu, “Stop getting all-kills already,” but he just made another all-kill. [T/N: LMFAO, Bisu takes no orders from no one when he’s on an angry all-kill rampage!] A: Truthfully speaking, since I was the most-wins king for 3 continuous years, I don’t really have much desire to continue to be it. However, since in reality my 1st place position was snatched away from me, I feel somewhat bitter. That’s why I’ll try my best to pursue him, and it would be nice if Bisu hyung would slow down on the winning. Bisu hyung’s wins are a motivation for me. Since my winning percentage is as good as it is right now, I’ll do my best to preserve and improve it and also try my hardest to rack up even more wins.
Q: Any last words you want to say? A: I want to thank my teammates for helping me out with practice for the time being, and also thank the coaching staff who always worry and fuss over me. My fans have been worrying a lot about my wrist lately. The situation is worrying, but they don’t have to keep on worrying. Ever since I was born, I’ve never had a situation where people cared this much about me. Since everyone is worrying and caring so much about me from behind, I’m in a much better condition now. Since my wrist has been somewhat of an inconvenience since a little while ago, I kept on losing in practice and my games weren’t going that well, so I’ve been avoiding fighting intense multitasking and micro battles and have been winning by build orders so far. I think that’s why my fans think I’ve been not doing that well only in the past. My wrist has been steadily healing day by day recently, so I think that I will come back with a “crazy insane” force soon. When I’m practicing, it seems that it’s been a really long time since I’ve found this much confidence in myself again. Since I’m practicing like a madman these days and managing my wrist well, I have a really good feeling about myself. [T/N: Uh… I thought it was a bad idea to practice crazily for your health, Flash? o___O;;; Oh wait, you’re Flash, I forgot….] Even though I was eliminated in both of the individual leagues, I think that I’ll definitely be able to show a better appearance in the coming season. Even though I’m not doing a whole lot nowadays, I’ve been really happy with myself lately.

Since these guys had quite a mouthful to say (I'm looking at you, Flash, you and your complex vocabulary that made me run to my dictionary one too many times <.<), I must've made a ton of mistakes, so please don't hesitate to point any out!
Congrats to KT for getting another victory, and congrats to Flash for crushing another player's all-kill dream? Anyway, I'll just throw some bonus pics at ya now.
+ Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/GZQtM.jpg) Look at these guys, they could be brothers! ![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/Kk00s.jpg) An epic NG with Violet laughing and Flash looking uncomfortable. ![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/nNtCt.jpg) MANTOSS. ![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/iRxaV.jpg) The text on the iPad cheerful says, "I'm the mothereffin' God Young Ho ^^" Slight exaggeration in the translation may be included.

Thanks so much for the translation! Really appreciate it.
The happy faces of KT in the last pic really warmed my heart, but the mafiazerg obviously looks a bit down because he's just not performing as he does in practice I guess. Hope he gets better luck in televised games.
Glad to see Flash's condition is improving too, it's really amazing that he has taken his double elimination and the threat of carpal tunnel syndrome so well, he definitely has the mental strength of champions. I'm sure he'll bounce back up, if he hasn't already done so.
Really happy for violet too, he was always gonna be one of my favourite tosses after that exclusive interview and his laidback and carefree demeanor. It seems like losing the captain's armband has really had a positive impact on his form; long may it continue.
|
You are the man! Great interview and I'm looking forward for the next KT matches. Can they go 9:0 in the 3rd round...
|
thank you very much, clean-up translator;-) when there is no hope left and everybody else seems to vanish, spica comes out!
|
woot, been waiting for this, ty.
edit: finished reading, awesome interviews. Final Boss fighting.
|
Thank you very much for ''cleaning up''!
Flash's interview was really long. :D I'm still worried about this talk about his wrist though. D:
|
thank you for this loooong translation!.
KT is in awesome shape now...the tosses and god are doing their jobs..
now im just hoping for action to step it up...kid has lost too many games in a row..
|
thanks so much for the translation. violet and flash are amazing players and it is always very interesting to see how those progamers think about themselves.
|
YESS thank you so much spica <3!
|
Is it just me or does that picture before last one look like Hoejja is looking at Reach's ass while Action and Violet are looking at his abs while Reach himself is proudly smiling and showing his body ~_~
Violet is on fire lately KEEP IT UP MAN!!!
|
I guess "final boss" caught on in korea too
thanks for the interview
|
Awesome picture of Flash. And funny how Flash is destroying people just on his build orders, amazing.
|
thanks for translating! I wanted to do it but there wasn't any chinese site that translated it ><
|
Flash is going to burst into the individual leagues next season like an unstoppable tsunami Assuming his wrist heals all right....D:

Holy fuck
Violet's bad acne is REALLY apparent in these pics, lol
|
I'm so happy to hear that Flash's wrist is getting better. Don't overdo it kid, there's two more titles for you to get next season!

GJ Violet. I like that flash feels inspired by Bisu. Especially since Bisu will be #1 in the power ranks.

Thanks for the translation! Good to see that Flash is as strong as ever, despite his early exit from both leagues.

"Last Boss" is a much better translation of that, i think :O

Ah, they look so proud and happy together. KT Fighting!

Stork winning silver in both leagues(maybe only one) vs Bisu getting the longest winning streak record plus 3 AKs this is a close one.

Thanks for the interview, long awaited:D
My hand has been steadily healing day by day recently, so I think that I will come back with a “crazy insane” force soon. Crazy insane, duh

Great interview! Really interesting to hear what Flash had to say, and I'm glad Violet is coming back in force for KT. Spica, we can call you the finale king of interviews :D

So Flash admits what I've thinking about his recent games, he hasn't been playing at 100% capacity. He certainly hasn't been raping his opponents quite as much as he usually does and I'm a bit surprised he hasn't actually lost any games so far in WL. Guess even an injured Flash is better than almost anybody else, coupled with a bit of luck and people simply being afraid of him.
Bogus should have played a standard game but whatever, STX clearly felt cheesing Flash was the way to go, who am I to argue.

Bogus was tired, can you really blame him? he wanted to get it over with and I think he knew he couldn't win against Flash in a macro game, but Flash owned him :D
I am really worried about Flash's wrists, I hope he's okay... He is my favorite player of all time and I don't want him to get hurt or something for being the God that he is.
But I have faith, and just look at the stats, he' like what, 25-2 is his Pl and WL run, and undefeated in his WL run? THAT IS SO SICK, GOD YOUNGHO HWAITING! also great to see violet step up, he really is on fire lately :D hope action can step it up, I feel bad for that kid... KT Rolster HWAITING! I hope they win against Woongjin Stars :D

Thanks for the input everyone, I changed Flash's nickname to "Final Boss"! I was considering using final boss too, but decided to put king instead because that's what it said in the original text. Final Boss is more badass anyways.
But I do hope to be like Flash the Final Weapon and come out and wipe the floor later with interviews if they're not translated yet!

Screw you Flash for denying Bogus his AK!
In a serious note, great interview! Thanks for the translation!

gosh I really want to see Yellow and Reach play more. Action played a lot and lost mostly all his games, KT should let other players have a chance to showcase their talents. As soon as Flash's wrist gets better, KT will send him out first to get that all kill.

DES has these little video interviews where you can hear more of the player's thoughts not covered in the text interview. The videos can be seen on the main DES homepage as little preview pics with a screenshot of the players with wacky font subs on them, but here's a link if you're lazy (like me) : http://esports.dailygame.co.kr/news/read.php?id=39100 I didn't cover all of the mini-interview, but here are some points that stuck out to me:
- Thoughts about Bisu's angry all-kill rampage Flash: "I want to win and take as many titles I can, but since it looks like Bisu hyung wants to snatch those opportunities away from me... *Scary tone* I'll have to stop him."
- Asked if he thinks he can get 100 wins Flash: "100 wins?!?? O__O Uhh... I don't think that anyone can do that.... That seems impossible and way too hard....." Caption on video reads: "Even God can't get a ranking of 100 serial wins; Who can do something that God can't even do..."
- Asked about why his team's Zergs are failing, I mean uhh, not doing that well lately Flash: "They usually do well in practice, but in broadcasted games, they haven't been showing their true potential... But I believe that they'll start winning more soon."
-Generic last words Flash: "Blah blah blah I'm really happy nowadays since I just have the Winners' League to practice for I'm gonna dominate next time I hit the individual leagues and roflstomp everyone, watch out suckahs!!" Well, he said something along those lines... In a much more polite and fluffy tone, of course.

lol @ flash getting bitter at bisu.
Still though his 92% win rate is fucking insane

You can pause the video at that picture and wait for the whole thing to load, just like waiting for that red bar to go all the way to the end in Youtube videos, but instead it's a gray bar at the bottom instead of a red one. Spica can you tell me the time in the video when he answers: - Thoughts about Bisu's angry all-kill rampage Flash: "I want to win and take as many titles I can, but since it looks like Bisu hyung wants to snatch those opportunities away from me... *Scary tone* I'll have to stop him." I wanna hear that scary tone!! ^^

I wanna hear that scary tone!! ^^ Aheh, I may have exaggerated that "scary tone" a bit, but it's certainly scary as a Bisu fan! ^^;; He really just lowered his tone that sounded rather threatening to me, but that part in the video is at 1:12-1:18. It's kinda hard to catch/unnoticeable because he just subtly slightly changes his normal speaking tone.
A better part to watch is when Flash is asked if he can get 100 wins in a row in my opinion. His reaction is priceless, with his eyebrows flying up and having a "you gotta be kidding me/wtf u sayin?!" tone in his voice, and him shaking his head and sighing and going, "Yeah, I don't think that anyone can pull that off...". That part in the video is at 2:53-3:12. I think that anyone can understand his utter bewilderment there. XD

Wow, Flash is really gaining a lot of weight. His face is so chubby. Now that he has time, he should hit the gym a little.

Lol if you compare the Bisu's interview with this interview it's just like these guys are in different worlds.
Flash : I'll dominate the world, I'll destroy everyone, I'll stop Bisu, noone will stand before me. Bisu : Noo I don't look like a girl, noo i'm not pretty, noo i don't look like a celebrity, stop saying that i'm too handsome...
