Winner: MBC

(T)Light

- How did you feel after the match ended?
▲ All the match-up came up exactly the same as we predicted, and we all got the opponent that we prepared for. Although the games looked very easy, but the preparation for them were extremely difficult. We think that this is a very valuable victory.

- You caught (Z)Jaedong again after round 1.
▲ During the first round, Jaedong tend to play in protoss favored maps, and it was not what I expected. But he also play in balanced maps so I did prepare for it somewhat. Jaedong is likely to play on this map today so I prepared to play against him. To beat Jaedong with protoss or zerg is very difficult, so I prepared especially on maps that him or another zerg will likely to play on. On the contrary, Jaedong didn't seem to have prepared for ZvT much.

- Your record against (Z)Jaedong is at 9:10.
▲ I don't really pay much attention to records, but he is number 2 on Kespa ranking and is one of the best player, so it's very hard to play against him. However terran does have a slight advantage in the matchup so I feel that it is still playable.

- Sea was brought up on set 4, were you anticipating a 4:0 win?
▲ No, Hwaseung is a very difficulty opponent, we were even prepared to go to the ace match. Especially since if it does go to ace match, there is a very high chance that it will be Jaedong, so it is very hard. There aren't anyone on the team that can take down Jaedong for sure. We couldn't afford to be careless in any of the games today.

- You were in a dangerous position when you lost your first bunker, was that how you assessed the situation?
▲ I thought that I must defend it at all cost. It was dangerous when his zergling broke in. I thought that I might have lost the game before my medics came out, but when I saw his zergling reinforcement I knew he is doing an all-in.

- Your win today brought your win-rate back to 50%
▲ Thinking back to last season, I was like this during round 1 and 2 also. I only started to change people's opinion during the winner's league. I wanted to play well too. I am working very hard now, so I will not be too concerned over short term results. I'm beginning to develop a mindset where I enjoy the game, and I'm preparing each match seriously.

- Next opponent is SKT.
▲ SKT's current form is shaky, so they will be desperate to win. However we are desperate to win also. We only have 2 match remaining in round 2 and both are against higher ranked teams. We will prepare very seriously for both match and we must win.

- Will you attend the eSports Award on Wednesday?
▲ I'm still very far away from being awarded (laugh). To be honest I don't really care for it much. I don't care about records and I don't wish for awards. I have already set my own record in the winner's league and I'm very satisfied with that. Of course it would be nice to get something from the eSports Award, but it will require alot more hard work for it to be possible. Only the best players should be awarded, and attending the Awards this time in all honesty has little meaning for me.

- Any last thoughts?
▲ I have been preparing for Bloody Ridge, but I always seem to bump into protoss. I practiced 300 games in 3 days and the map really felt protoss favored. Thats why I really hoped that (Z)Jaedong would play on Bloody Ridge today. Before I came to the match, coach (P)Pusan did some practice with me and pwned me, his skills are still the same as before, maybe he should play next time (laugh). Today is the first time we won 4:1, I hope we can win more in the future.

btw maybe the reason for OZ fail is that they haven't got a strong former player as a coach? (the mentioning of how (P)Pusan "pwned" (T)Light led me to thinking so)

Is that just an exaggeration, or do ya think he really played 100 games a day? O_o That would be insane!

Thanks!

I'm at a loss as to how you can actually play 100 games in 1 day. I don't think there could possibly be enough time.
I say he's exaggerating and it's more like 30/day.

I am pretty sure it's an exaggeration for the number of games played, but as Stylish pointed out, he probably just played 16hours a day on the same map, so what does it actually matter how many games it really was^^.

There are 1440 minutes in the day, so... if you play without sleep 24/7 your games must last for an average of 14-15 minutes... wtf for this, when a) TvT and TvP usually last more, b) Light obviously had to sleep :D

Practicing for a map is a bit different i think. Maybe a lot of them were only building placement practices, and other kind of short games.

Without Pusan as coach, Jaehoon and Tyson wouldn't be doing so well. Last season Pusan was supposedly playing really well in practice too but he got too nervous on the televised stage and lost more matches than he should have. So it's a good thing he moved on to coaching.

Given the standard of MBC's practice partners, Light's games probably weren't that long. 50+ games a day is very possible.

I wish they had interviewed Saint too, it's been awhile since he got an interview and today he played solidly.

Oh yes Jaehoon is doing so well in this PL, I'm a fan of him (and also because he is known as Jaedong's best friend ^_^ ). But seriously, Jaehoon is so good at macro, and his multitask doesn't suck too. When he is friends with his nerves he looks just too fearsome

If his average game was 10 minutes (Which is very short) that would be 17 hours/day. I call bullshit on this one. If he didn't sleep/eat/go to the bathroom and his games were over 14.4 minutes on average...this would be mathematically impossible.

Not every practice game needs to be finished all the way through. If he is training his opener, he only needs to play a few minutes before seeing what he and his opponent are both planning, and compare army compositions for the early game. If he or his opponent blunders at one poin, which happens when testing new builds/timings, they can restart as well.
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

hes probably learning how to bunker rush protoss every game. j/k.

probably he is just going through certain parts of the early game and learning how to defend early ling pressure(sea vs shine)

Its probably an exaggeration. Pretty sure he just means he grinded hard to bring his play level back to a decent level...I wouldn't take it too literally.

Either way, I'm pretty sure he just spent a lot of time testing out new simcities to better deal with early pressure. His funnel simcity against Jaedong was particularly different from the many complete walls or depot/bunker combinations you often see from most terrans.
