Seems like a good decision. He should be able to transition into a relatively normal life if that's what he wants.

Anyway, my last major memory of him will be that time he played protoss like a zerg~

I still find this fairly unbelievable—not in the "OH MY GOD" sense, but in that I don't really believe him.
