Hey, better late than never!

+ Show Spoiler +
Fantasy: "I played in a state of trance"

Q: How does it feel to win the last game of Round 4?
- I feel great because it feels like it's been a while since I had won. My condition wasn't too good so I feel as if I played in a state of trance. I had heard before that when people are sick, they get to play better (T/N: It could refer to a situation where he's been sick before and people tell him this, or it could just be a general statement from before. I translated it as the latter), and I think I was like that today. I just played where my hands went.

Q: Your opponent was Calm
- I thought STX would send a Protoss but because they didn't I was a little disappointed. But there was a build I prepared to use against Jaedong from the last Oz game so I was able to play well.

Q: Recently, your spirit has been a bit shaky
- Maybe it's because my other team mates are doing so well, but there are times where I don't get to play and pushed off to the Ace match, so I think I need to play even better to keep my place and I feel responsible as the team's Ace.

Q: With today's victory, you guys overcame this difficulty
- I kept in mind two things, that if we lose today we go down to 7th place, and that STX always loses their last match. In a time where Round 4 is ending, I don't think 5th place is a bad score and I think if we just win 6~7 games in Round 5, we should easily be able to make it to the postseason.

Q: How is your team's spirit?
- We don't think there's a big difference between 3rd place or 6th place. If they're not 1st place or 2nd place, we think they're all the same and so we go about it well without feeling pressured. All of my teammates are doing well so we don't think we will lose if we go to "Best of" rounds

Q: Is there anything you want to say?
- My condition wasn't very good but after I won it has improved a lot. I want to tell Canata hyung that we can win next time together so he shouldn't feel down.

Best: "I thought it'd work out if I win"

Q: How does it feel to win the last game of Round 4?
- It was a very important game. If we lost we would fall to 7th place so we would have felt further away from the postseason, so I'm relieved that with this win we are pretty safe in our spot.

Q: Weren't you pressured by the fact that you were sent out when your team was losing?
- I didn't expect the opposing team to send out a terran so I didn't prepare for a terran matchup at all. I was also pressured because we were in a losing spot but I played calmly by thinking that if I win it'd be okay. There was some situations were I was in trouble but I think I overcame them well.

Q: How was the match?
- The opponent cut SCVs and eliminated a few things and did a timing rush. When I was watching this with an observer I thought it'd be very difficult to defend it, but my control was good so I was able to defend it, and after that my opponent has less SCVs I was able to play in an advantageous position. I'm quite satisfied that I was able to defend against a rush that's very difficult to defend against.

Q: Are you not satisfied by your recent performance?
- Right now I'm not that impatient. While my performance isn't as good as I want it to be, I'm practicing sincerely and these kinds of plays keep showing up on my games, so if I continue to practice hard I think I will be able to show my better side. If I slowly improve my skills my performance will slowly but surely improve.

Q: We're curious about Bisu's situation
- Bisu seems to have lost confidence because he kept losing in televised games. But since he is still playing very cleanly during practice, I think if he just wins once in a broadcast, I think he will be able to get an incredible winning streak. I personally don't worry about him.

Q: You kept revealing your shoulders
- Most of the gamers start sweating a lot when they begin to think they had lost. Today was very hot and so when I came to the bench I folded it a bit but I kept getting caught by the camera. I've been working out and it's embarrassing. But if the fans really want and if we win this season in KwangAnRi, I will show it to them completely.

Q: Is there anything you want to say?
- Recently my skin condition has deteriorated. But I don't know anything about skin care clinics. If there are any of you who know about them very well, I'd be grateful if you would let me know. I can't get any good info even through internet searches. But it can't be too expensive.

Hyuk: "This is a situation where I must do well"

Q: How does it feel to seal your team's victory in the last game of Round 4?
- First, I'm happy that my team is now 5th. If we lost this game and sunk to 7th place, the team's spirit wouldn't have been very good but since we prevented it from happening I feel good.

Q: Were you scheduled for the Ace Match?
- I was scheduled but I didn't prepare as much as I would have wanted to so I was a bit scared. I set the probability of Calm coming out at 70% and Kal at 30% and practiced accordingly.

Q: How was today's game?
- My build was good so I thought I just needed to defend. I thought if I didn't get ambushed I would have played the game in an advantageous situations with odds about 6:4. So I just adjusted to my opponent's play and built units accordingly. The map's features make it so that the zergling fights don't have a big meaning and so I just matched his zergling count and concentrated on Air units.

Q: You successfully escaped your losing streak against Zerg
- First since Canata and Bisu are slumping, if I lost here I think our team would have been in big trouble. In Round 5 I want to play well until these players revive. I'm very inconsistent but until then I cannot fall.

Q: Your Air prowess seems to be one of the best amongst Zerg players.
- During the days of Battle Royal I played a lot of matches against Zerg. I concentrated on Zerg matches for a few months and I think I improved a lot during then.

Q: Is there anything you want to say?
- Canata lost today and I understand him more than anyone else. He practices more than anyone in the team but it does not show well on televised matches. It will show eventually so I hope he wouldn't be too worried. We just need to all do well on Round 5. I also want to thank my coach for giving me the opportunity for the Ace match and coach Cha for watching over my game because it has been more comfortable preparing for matches. Because of him I think my skill has improved a lot so I want to thank him.

Question to other translators since I'm wondering how you guys translate some bits (so I can adopt since standardization rocks).
+ Show Spoiler +

1: How do you guys normally translate the "분위기" questions? Atmosphere? Spirit? I think Spirit works well but it's kinda odd and a bit too specific and I could be being a bit too liberal with it.

2: A lot of the questions waver between "The team" to "individuals". How do you guys decide whether or not to use "I" or "we" (even if it refers to "we", the person being interviewed could be the only one thinking it).

3: 성적 = Record? Score? Performance? Or do you decide based on context?

4: Do we go with normal standards? 컨트롤 = Micro, or just translate it as Control?

5: 열심. There's really no english equivalent I think? I can't just say "go about it more passionately" or do we just go a bit more liberal with it?

6. 좋은 모습을 보이다, or other similar statements. "Show them my good side"? I don't like that because it implies they weren't showing a good side to begin with. Is there another good english idiom?

7. 깔끔하게, used as an adverb. Cleanly seems a bit odd. "Without mistake"?

Thanks in advance :D

I fall asleep during Best vs Bogus match ToT.

Somebody told me Hyuk won't come out for Ace match.
Although I already somehow, instinct told me he will come out for ace match.

Ah, should have trust myself.

Thanks for the interview! I have been waiting for this for long time.

STX always loses their last match

hahaha, Fantasy is surprisingly funny

I didn't prepare for a terran matchup at all.

wow, I thought he played better than usual

But since he is still playing very cleanly during practice, I think if he just wins once in a broadcast, I think he will be able to get an incredible winning streak.

I thought if I didn't get ambushed I would have played the game in an advantageous situations with odds about 6:4.

jesus, this guy is some kind of genius mathmetician. how do you even calculate that?

I want to tell Canata hyung that we can win next time together so he shouldn't feel down.

too bad Canata feels down about his loss, it was a close game

great interview! ty for translation

1: How do you guys normally translate the "분위기" questions? Atmosphere? Spirit? I think Spirit works well but it's kinda odd and a bit too specific and I could be being a bit too liberal with it.

I write "atmosphere", but sometimes "mood" depending on the situation. At times, "momentum" fits well too.

2: A lot of the questions waver between "The team" to "individuals". How do you guys decide whether or not to use "I" or "we" (even if it refers to "we", the person being interviewed could be the only one thinking it).

If the question and answer are more general than it should be, I write it for the team. Use your judgment

3: 성적 = Record? Score? Performance? Or do you decide based on context?

I write record or result depending on the context.

4: Do we go with normal standards? 컨트롤 = Micro, or just translate it as Control?

I just use control. Micro is less formal, as you would have to say "micromanage".

5: 열심. There's really no english equivalent I think? I can't just say "go about it more passionately" or do we just go a bit more liberal with it?

Diligent.

6. 좋은 모습을 보이다, or other similar statements. "Show them my good side"? I don't like that because it implies they weren't showing a good side to begin with. Is there another good english idiom?

I usually write "show good performance".

7. 깔끔하게, used as an adverb. Cleanly seems a bit odd. "Without mistake"?

Cleanly is fine. Or since it's usually "깔끔하게 끝낸다" or "깔끔한 마무리", "make a clean finish" is good too.

One thing to note is that you don't have to stick to translating directly as it says in Korean. It's more fluent to change parts of the sentences. Have fun

I asked other translators how I should translate certain words/phrases (on the last spoiler) that I don't think had good english equivalents (mostly because I have this tendency to translate extremely literally if I can). So it's definitely helpful

Bisu seems to have lost confidence because he kept losing in televised games. But since he is still playing very cleanly during practice, I think if he just wins once in a broadcast, I think he will be able to get an incredible winning streak

But Bisu wins against Leta and Pusan and then slump again =(
I'm doubt that confidence is the problem.

Thank you for the translation!

I have been waiting for this and T1 players did not disappoint.

Juicy bit about Bisu's condition. I knew that it wasn't his skill, but his lack of iron mentality (unlike Jaedong and Flash) that made him slump.

Hyuk want to shoulder the team until Bisu and Canata return to prime. What a team player.

On the contrary I think it is. If you look back at his winner interviews taken after those two games and the ones before, you can actually detect the lack of confidence on Bisu's part. He was saying "I played bad", "I start losing, so I start thinking this is just my skill level" "It feels normal to lose nowadays", blah blah blah.

His interview after he defeated Pusan showed some level of confidence and the desire to come back strong. Yet he nonetheless entered a losing streak. His confidence is essentially shattered after such high expectation of himself. I don't think he has found the balance between winning and losing yet.

Can't believe how the T1 coach is coaxing wins out of his broken team. Still, one more round in which they have a chance to recover to prepare the team for the playoffs...I wonder if they can do it.

Thanks for the translations, as well as the efforts you're undertaking to bring us superior quality ones.

Why do I get the feeling from this interview that Bisu is really just not taking his televised games as seriously as his practice so that he appears weak for when he comes back with all of these crazy amazing builds he's been cooking up while everyone is thinking he's in a huge slump?
