Q: How do you feel about winning on the first day?
A: It was the first game in a long time. Although it’s only been 3 weeks, my skills have gotten worse, but I’m glad that the games still went well.
Q: It was a one-sided match
A: If I had not destroyed his expansion at that timing, it would have been a hard game for me. I was able to take the game easily after winning the battle at 9 o’clock.
Q: Did you game sense become worse after such a long break?
A: It did decrease a lot from not playing for a long time. However, I’m still glad that I was able to play like this before Winner’s League finals, and because I found my senses back, I think I can play better in the future.
Q: You’ve won all your TvZs in Eye of the Storm
A: I have always liked playing TvZ, but I realized from practice that it’s still playable for Zerg in the map. Thankfully, the luck was on my side and because the game played out well, I was able to win easily.
Q: You got a good start with 1 win
A:
Kwanro wasn’t an easy opponent. I want to win against hyvaa as well and advance to Ro8 with 3 wins.Q: Your next opponent is
KalA: I think it will be a fun game because I barely won against him last time. Since I have a lot of preparation time, I hope we get to play an exciting game.
Q: Winner’s League finals are right in front of our eyes.
A: I practiced for OSL until today. I plan to go all out for Winner’s League now. It didn’t matter who advanced, so I will prepare well and show good results.
Q: Anything else?
A: It’s our first final in a long time. I think a lot of fans waited for this and I think we will be able to win if all the seats are filled up. If a lot of fans show up, I will return the favor with my best game play. There’s an event on the KT homepage regarding the seats and I hope a lot of people participate in it.

- 개막전 승리 소감
▲ 정말 오랜만에 경기를 했다. 3주 만인데 생각보다 떨렸는데 다행히도 경기가 잘 풀려서 기분 좋다.
- 원사이드한 경기였다.
▲ 그 타이밍에 한방 러시를 갔을 때 멀티를 파괴하지 못했다면 쉽지 않은 경기가 될 것 같다. 9시 한방 전투를 승리해서 쉽게 경기를 가져간 것 같다.
- 오랜만에 경기였는데 경기 감각이 무뎌지지는 않았나
▲ 오랜만에 하다 보니 감각이 많이 떨어졌더라. 그래도 이렇게 위너스 결승 전에 경기를 해서 다행이라고 생각하고, 감을 찾았으니 앞으로 있을 경기는 잘 할 수 있을 것 같다.
- 태풍의눈에서 저그전 전승이다.
▲ 원래는 저그전을 좋아했는데 이번에 연습을 하면서 저그도 할만하다는 것을 알게 됐다. 다행히도 오늘 운도 좋고 경기도 잘 풀려서 쉽게 승리했다.
- 1승으로 순조로운 출발을 했다.
▲ 쉽지 않은 상대다. 신대근 선수와의 경기 승리해서 3전 전승으로 8강에 가고 싶다.
- 다음 상대는 김구현이다.
▲ 최근에 힘들게 이겨서 굉장히 재미있는 경기가 될 것 같다. 준비 시간이 많이 남았으니 좋은 경기 했으면 좋겠다.
- 이제 위너스리그 경기가 눈앞으로 다가왔다.
▲ 오늘까지는 스타리그 연습을 했다. 이제 위너스리그 연습에 본격적으로 돌입할 예정이다. 누가 올라오든 상관 없었기 때문에 열심히 준비해서 좋은 결과 내겠다.
- 끝으로 하고 싶은 말은
▲ 정말 오랜만의 결승이다. 팬 여러분들도 많이 기다리셨을 것 같은데 관중석이 가득 차 있으면 승리할 수 있을 것 같다. 팬 여러분들께서 많이 찾아주신다면 최고의 경기력으로 보답하겠다. 그리고 지금 KT 롤스터 홈페이지에서 결승전 좌석 이벤트가 진행되고 있으니 많이 참여해 주셨으면 좋겠다.

Q: You started your first individual league game with a win
A: I was really nervous because it was my first game, but my nervousness was gone when I sat down to play so I was able to play well.
Q: Your opponent,
Stork, has a really strong PvTA: I think that I shouldn’t feel belittled against stronger players and that I shouldn’t let my guard down against worse players. Because everyone’s skill level has risen, I have to play alertly.
Q: Was your preparation hard for this game?
A: It was hard because Stork is such a good player, but I thought that the map was favorable for Terran so I was able to play with confidence.
Q: You probably became surprised when you saw the 6 o’clock hidden expansion
A: I was flustered because I found it towards the end. I became nervous thinking that I would lose the game.
Q: Your Dropship usage was good.
A: The reason Terran is good on this map is that even if Terran uses Dropships, Protoss can’t do much about it. I think I used them effectively.
Q: Your next opponent is
HwasinA: I have the highest win rate in TvT and because I’ve been playing well, if I can just practice like I did today, I think I can take the win.
Q: You handled your opponent’s Carriers well
A: Stork’s Carrier control wasn’t very good today. As a result, it was easy to kill them.
Q: You have to play against
Jaedong tomorrow in MSLA: The map won’t be completely analyzed for both of us. I think I have a chance if my analysis of the map is better than Jaedong’s.
Q: Isn’t it difficult to play two games in a row?
A: I’m rather happy because I always thought that it’s good to be busy. I’m enjoying the moment.

- 개인리그 첫 경기를 승리로 장식했다.
▲ 첫 개인리그 경기라서 긴장을 많이 했는데 막상 경기석에 앉으니 긴장이 풀려서 좋은 경기 할 수 있었다.
- 상대가 강력한 테란전을 자랑하는 송병구 였다.
▲ 요즘 잘하는 선수 상대로 주눅들 필요도 없고 못하는 선수 상대로 방심해선 안 된다고 생각하고 있다. 선수들의 실력이 다 상향 평준화 돼서 긴장을 풀지 말고 경기해야 한다.
- 경기 준비가 힘들지는 않았나
▲ 병구형이 잘하는 선수라서 준비가 어려웠지만 경기 맵이 테란에게 유리하다고 생각해서 자신감 있게 게임 할 수 있었다.
- 6시 몰래 멀티를 발견하고 당황했을 것 같다.
▲ 6시 몰래 멀티를 끝날 때쯤 파악해서 당황했다. 지는 줄 알고 긴장했다.
- 드롭십 활용이 좋았다.
▲ 이 맵에서 테란이 좋은 이유가 드롭십을 써도 프로토스가 대처 법이 없다는 것이다. 드롭십을 효율적으로 잘 사용한 것 같다.
- 다음 상대는 진영수인데
▲ 최근에 테란전이 가장 승률도 좋고 잘 돼서 오늘처럼 열심히 준비한다면 승리할 수 있을 것 같다.
- 상대 캐리어에 대한 대처가 좋았는데
▲ 병구형이 오늘 캐리어 컨트롤이 좋지 않았다. 그래서 캐리어를 잡기 편했다.
- 내일 이제동과 MSL 개막전을 해야 하는데
▲ 신 맵이라서 맵 파악이 서로 덜 된 상태일 것 같다. 내가 제동이형보다 맵 파악을 더 잘 했다면 이길 수 있을 것 같다.
- 이틀 연속 경기를 하는 것이 힘들지 않나
▲ 예전부터 바빠야 좋은 거라고 생각했기 때문에 기분 좋다. 지금 이 상황을 즐기고 있다.
- 끝으로 하고 싶은 말은
▲ 연습을 도와준 우리 팀 이영호 선수와 MBC게임 장민철 선수에게 감사 드리고, 지난 휴가 때 대회 때문에 집에 내려가지 못해서 부모님이 서운해 하셨다. 꼭 내일 경기도 이겨서 보답하도록 하겠다.

Q: How do you feel about winning the first Ro16 game?
A: I seriously really needed this win. I really wanted to win by performing well. Thankfully, the luck was on my side and I’m relieved that I was able to win cleanly.
Q: Your Ro36 performance was disappointing
A: It’s different for the ones who actually played, so I think it was different from what the observers felt. In the end, I still didn’t play well so I took the time to self-reflect on my mistakes.
Q: You lost to
Calm in Ro8 of last OSL. You must’ve been desperate for today’s gameA: I’m embarrassed to hear about last Ro8 again. It’s something that I don’t want to recall. I practiced today thinking that I must win. I changed a lot since last time, so I’m confident now.
Q: People were talking about your recent performance issues.
A: I was really stressed about that. I never thought my image would become this bad. But because I’m the one who caused all of this, I will have to accept it and since there are many more games left, I will try my best to recover the good image.
Q: You must be greedy about this season
A: It is true that because I played the first game really well, I feel greedy. I want to go to Ro4 at least once. I will think of how far I go as my skill level, and I want to see how much I can improve through this tournament.
Q: You’re a dual-leaguer
A: I could meet Calm again in MSL, but because I won against him today, I will be able to play confidently. Although I’m a dual-leaguer, it still feels like my skills aren’t enough, but even just to stand confidently as a dual-leaguer, I will do my best to show good games.
Q: You must be greedy for Proleague as well
A: I have a lot of greed right now. There are 2 rounds left and I think being alive in dual leagues and Proleague is my chance. My performance will change how people look at me. I will try my hardest, so I hope people keep watching me.

A: People said bad things about me because of my last interview, so I wanted to do another interview by winning today. Although I had a lot of things to say, they will probably seem like excuses so I will just show it through my games. - 16강 첫 경기를 승리한 소감은
▲ 진짜 지금은 무조건 승리가 필요했다. 좋은 경기력으로 이기는 것이 절실했다. 다행히도 운도 따라주고 해서 깔끔하게 이긴 것 같아서 다행이다.
- 지난 스타리그 36강 경기력이 많이 아쉬웠는데
▲ 옵저버 입장과 선수 입장은 많이 다르다. 그래서 느끼는 것이 좀 달랐던 것 같다. 그래서 못한 것은 못한 거니까 반성을 많이 했다.
- 김윤환에게 지난 스타리그 8강에서 패했다. 그래서 이번 경기 승리가 더 절실했을 것 같은데
▲ 지난 8강전 애기를 하니 다시 부끄러워진다. 창피해서 떠올리기 싫은 기억이다. 오늘 경기는 무조건 이긴다는 생각으로 연습했다. 그때와 지금은 많이 달라졌기 때문에 자신 있었다.
- 최근 경기력 문제로 구설수에 오르기도 했다.
▲ 그것 때문에 스트레스를 많이 받았다. 내 이미지가 이렇게 굳혀질 거라고는 상상도 못했다. 모두다 내가 자초한 일이니까 비판은 다 받아들여야 한다고 생각하고, 앞으로 많은 경기들이 남았으니 이미지 회복을 위해 노력하겠다.
- 이번 시즌 욕심이 날 것 같다.
▲ 첫 경기를 기분 좋게 잘 해서 욕심이 나는 것이 사실이다. 4강까지는 한번쯤 가보고 싶다. 내가 성적 내는 데까지가 내 실력이라고 생각하고, 이번 대회를 통해 내가 얼마나 성장할지 기대된다.
- 양대리그에 모두 이름을 올렸다.
▲ MSL도 김윤환 선수와 다시 만날 수도 있는데 오늘 이겼으니 자신감 있게 경기할 수 있을 것 같다. 양대리거이기는 하지만 아직까지는 떳떳하지 못한 감이 있는데 양대리거로서 자신감 있게 서기 위해서라도 좋은 경기 보여드리겠다.
- 프로리그도 욕심이 날 것 같다.
▲ 지금 욕심이 상당히 많다. 두 라운드 남았는데 지금 양대리그와 프로리그가 내게는 기회라고 생각한다. 활약 여부에 따라 나를 바라보는 시선도 바뀔 것 같다. 최선을 다해 노력할테니 좋게 봐주셨으면 좋겠다.
- 끝으로 하고 싶은 말은
▲ 지난 인터뷰를 하고 욕을 많이 먹어서 이번에 이기고 다시 인터뷰를 하자고 다짐했다. 인터뷰를 통해 하고 싶은 말이 많았지만 변명 같아 보일 것 같아서 그냥 열심히 하는 것으로 보여드리겠다. 열심히 할 테니 비판 분만 아니라 많은 응원도 부탁 드린다.

Q: You got your first OSL Ro16 win
A: I came today thinking I will not lose. However, the fact that I played was scheduled for the last game today bothered my mind. I prefer to play earlier games rather than waiting for my turn on the last match (laughs).
Q: You tried 2 Fact against a Zerg
A: I was planning on using it if the rush distance was close. I would have gone for a different strategy if we spawned diagonally. If my opponent prepares well for this push, they can block it but otherwise, it seems to work most of the times.
Q: Why did you use this specific strategy?
A: I just thought of it during practice, so I timed my rush last night and used it today. I was expecting something good because my win rate was good with this strategy and I ended up winning as I thought.
Q: Are you confident about Winner’s League?
A: MBC advanced but I think we would have lost against them if
Flash didn’t play well in the regular season. I lost too easily last time so if I get a chance to play, I want to act as the person who brings the momentum to our side.Q: You were slumping for a while
A: I know the reason for my slump so I’m confident now. The reason is that I wasn’t practicing hard enough.
Q: What resulted in your slump?
A: When you’re in a slump, you become more nervous for your games so the games turn out badly. It was hard to get a chance to play because of that and my game sense had fallen a lot. It was hard to overcome those things.
Q: You must be greedy for this season’s win
A: I’m feeling good about this season. I will advance to Ro8 with clean 3 wins and rise up step by step.

- 스타리그 16강 첫 승을 거뒀는데
▲ 오늘 진다는 생각을 안하고 왔다. 다만 오늘 마지막 경기라서 다른 선수들 경기를 지켜보면서 마인드컨트롤을 했다. 먼저 경기를 하고 쉬는 것이 낫지 지금처럼 마지막에 경기하는 것이 정말 싫다(웃음).
- 저그 상대로 2팩토리 러시를 시도했다.
▲ 가까운 스타팅 포인트가 걸리면 2팩토리 러시를 하려고 했다. 대각이 걸렸다면 다른 전략을 사용했을 것이다. 상대가 대처를 잘하면 막히지만 대부분은 다 통하더라 그래서 사용하게 됐다.
- 이 전략을 시도하게 된 계기는
▲ 연습하던 중 생각해낸 빌드다. 그래서 어제 저녁에 잠깐 타이밍만 재보고 나왔다. 승률이 나쁘지 않아서 기대했는데 역시 승리했다.
- 위너스리그 자신 있나
▲ MBC게임이 올라왔는데 지난 위너스 정규 시즌에서 영호가 잘하지 못했다면 졌을 것이다. 내가 너무 허무하게 져서 이번에 내게 출전 기회가 온다면 상대 에이스가 나오기 전에 기세를 우리 팀으로 끌어오는 역할을 하고 싶다.
- 한동안 부진에 빠져 있었는데
▲ 부진의 이유를 알았기 때문에 이제 자신 있다. 그동안 연습을 열심히 안 해서 부진에 빠진 것 같다.
- 부진의 원인을 찾았나
▲ 부진에 빠지면 긴장이 돼서 경기가 더 안 된다. 그래서 출전 기회를 잡기 어려워졌고 경기 감각도 많이 떨어졌다. 이 부분을 극복하는 것이 힘들었다.
- 우승한지 오래돼서 이번 시즌 욕심이 날 것 같다.
▲ 이번 시즌 감이 정말 좋다. 16강에서 3승으로 깔끔하게 진출한 뒤 8강부터 차근차근 위로 올라가겠다.
- 끝으로 하고 싶은 말은
▲ 연습 도와준 저그 선수들에게 정말 고맙다는 말을 전하고 싶다. 그리고 지금 KT 롤스터 홈페이지에서 진행되는 결승전 이벤트에 많이 참여해 주셨으면 좋겠다.
