I was a wee bit on the bored side this evening so I decided to gather some statistics from the main liquibet page. I created some tables (nothing fancy at all) with the data I collected. All the info came only from that main liquibet page. Quite a few of the map names are missing there, I didn't include the liquibets where you select 2 players you think would move on from the group since those aren't matches themselves, and of course there's probably some small errors here and there. But anyway, this was just for fun, and was only meant to give you an idea of some statistics.
Player Statistics Each player is listed along with how many games they've played, points they played for, their win:loss ratio and percentage, and also all their matchups. You can click on a column's heading to sort the information.
General/Map Statistics Some general statistics along with a listing of all the maps mentioned, how many matches were played on them, and some race matchup stats.
So, anyone able to draw any conclusions from this?
Some quick obvious ones: Nada, Sync, and Nal_rA were great bets, while Jinnam, BlueK, and Autumn pretty much got hammered.
(And no, I didn't spend hours putting this together by hand. I used some JavaScript to do it for me, and I already had most of the parsing code done from that liquibet calculator thingy.)

Wow, check out Jinnam's slump.... 1 out of 14

Nice GJ
Gauntlet-TG is a ZERG MAP !!
|
What are good job.... good post Saro. Thx.
|
GJ, player stats are nice.
Yellow has the best stats for Zergs and hes slumpy? (not counting zerg players that played 1-2 games and won all)
Sync seems to be doing nicely.
General/map stats arent really trustworthy with such small population sizes for the MU stats. edit: JulyZerg doing better

why does nada own everything =/

Hm, the stats are a bit skewed since it would seem a lot of PvZ wins didn't show up O_o Same for ZvT I guess.

Thanks for the compliments (and I immediately took lovehis' cute English as a compliment too ). As for the "free time" bit, I suppose it's true that I do have a decent amount of it these days, while waiting to get a good job. But, this little project took maybe 2 hours of an empty evening, so not a big loss there. I didn't type any of the HTML myself, I just wrote some JS code to parse info from the page, load it into data structures, some functions to gather some stats on that data, and lastly another function to generate the HTML. Getting all the aliases straightened out took a good chunk of the time.
I have the player races down as T:38, P:23, and Z:32. The win % for every race can be deduced from the "All Maps" ratios on the general stats page. Although, they're not really gonna be 100% accurate because I had to make a some guesses on a few player races, but that was only for the small few names I didn't recognize from the Team Liquid TL#4 games, and they only played one game which was on an unknown map anyway.

Woah, Nice work. We need more of these so we don't steal all the material straight from pgr21
|
speaking of pgr21, ive tried to use their search engine but it doesnt seem to work for map statistics, only player and matchup. does anyone know how to get it to work for maps? i choose the maps and it gives me the same numbers as "all maps"
