Agreed. As exciting as watching paint dry.

Bit Ironic eh

What a fantastic show. Thanks so much for the sub-titles thus far!!!

Hyung Jun is really cool and funny. Shark is a pretty good singer!
I hope Shark does a cameo in one of their performances or something. he could definitely sing Because I'm Stupid live

It's a bit odd... the things that are said about HJ's play (110 apm, didn't know basic build orders at the start of the series, doesn't hotkey his units) seems quite out of step with actual footage of his play, which looks competent at the very least. I won't go as far as saying his lack of skill and subsequent improvement is a hoax, but there's definite spin and exaggeration. The show seems to project a "D player to A player" type expectation, when I suspect the full transition may be a more realistic C to B- transition hyped by selective footage and comments.

Really? Seems to me he's pretty horrible. Okay, he can muta micro, but he messes up micro and probably macro since he never has many units/expos.

Frankly, in one of the episodes it was said that numerous koreans accuse of him faking his real skill level, and this kinda makes sense.
Imo it's odd that he had played 5 years (his own words iirc) with a current record of 30-100 or something, and not even know the most basic of build orders for Zerg.
Because of his other comittments, I really doubt he has the time to practise enough to even hope to win courage.
But for the sake of the show he has to ''improve''.
Oh well, love the show anyways.

Ya...It is just a show. It would be kind of disheartening if he was faking his skill level just to project a facade of improvement. I do believe he would have tried to beat ret during courage though, but since the match up was a ZvZ, we can't really glean anything about his true abilities from it.

I noticed that Shark is missing from the MBC bench these days. Must be pushing Hyung to the limit with a whip in hand.

...which is why HyungJun really wanted Tossgirl to be his instructor.

Shark mentioned on HJ's radio show that he gets paid about 1,000,000 Won a month. That's about 870USD.
no wonder bisu left MBC for SKT... Your salary depends on your performance. I remember reading that Sea gets paid 110k and Light gets paid 90k. But SKT does have a bigger budget. 110,000,000 Won is around the salary cap at MBC. They were paying July a similar amount in 2006-07 before he left for a far bigger paycheck, among other reasons. Yeah SKT and KT are the ones with massive budgets. Wemade and CJ pay well too. About taking it seriously, HJ practices a lot more than is shown on tv. You don't improve from 90 apm to 110 apm in 2-3 weeks without putting in practice time. They only have 55mins of airtime each week, a lot of filming sequences get cut out. are you serious? - - 90 to 110 is like nothing to those who play at 200+, obv. but i remember when bwchart first came out and i started working on improving my gameplay and going from 90-110 was a pretty noticeable change. When did you ever get to 110?

I have been wondering about his real skill level during episodes, too. But came upon an interview of boy band SS501 long before this show begin. In that interview, each of member had to take turn left the room, and other members would tell tales about him. It was disclosed that Hyungjun loves play game most amount members but he is also most unskilled between them. It was always a jock between members that Hyungun spent most time playing game but still is the worst player, and got slain by other members all the time.
I don't know how to play StarCraft. But it is said StarCraft is a real-time strategy video game. I guess you could still be bad if your strategy is to just kill where enemies you are happened upon. Maybe a little bit like playing chess? You could be a chess lover and know the rules to play. But you could still be suck at it after years?

It's hard to say if he's pretending to suck but the part about playing for 5 years is fake. I think we can discard what he said to the producers in the opening sequence of episode 1, he was trying to be funny/arrogant with the tossgirl jokes and all. A couple of Korean news articles mentioned that in the past he focused on other games but recently turned to SC for a new challenge so maybe that's closer to the truth.
I actually don't want him to win Courage today (or right now as I'm typing this) cos that means the show will end for sure at episode 7!

Yeah, he was not there against CJ on the 22nd, so probably teaching HJ? (If HJ ever makes it, he owes Shark bigtime).
On @play a couple days ago, Shark mentioned that it's really hard for him to get angry with Hyungjun cos everytime he's about to get angry, HJ says "saranghaeyo" (I love you) and acts cute. LOL. He also mentioned that they're close friends and pretty much the same off camera.
The video clip is unsubbed but Shark talks about why he got hit by Ha Tae Ki and says some other very nice things about HJ: + Show Spoiler +

It's possible to play 3 years w/o knowing jack. BGH/FASTEST players (he talks about fastest/bgh often)
|
Lol yeah, he picked hunters to play with Oov, Bisu, and boxer xD
This show is actually becoming more entertaining than I thought Hyungjoon is a pretty interesting guy
