I don't care if they are D players. I don't care if they're your friends. You play by the same rules as everyone else. That's unfair to multiple people: 1. The other coaches. We were not given this chance. Maybe next season it will be implemented, but as for now, you're asking to change the rules in a league you are signing up LATE for. Just because we need more teams doesn't give you an exception - if anything, the original coaches should be given this chance before you. 2. The players on the waitlist. You are taking away their chance to play and unfairly choosing people you know just cause you won't have it any other way. You are being a greedy bastard by doing this and therefore ruining the spirit of the league. IDC if they are D players, get to know new people dammit. It'll still be fun (I like my pupils already). 3. The organizers. You're causing l10f a lot of stress when you're asking to bend a rule. I don't even think this should be brought to a vote. Who cares if there are a couple byes or something? No one should get preferred treatment. If you had suggested this before signups were DONE and teams were MADE, then obviously it would be a different story. You're barging into a league and asking to bend rules.
I hope other coaches will read my post and agree with me, because I seriously think this is very uncool. I don't have any personal grudge against you Storr, and I hope you don't take this personally, but I believe in this case you are simply being ridiculous. As I said, next season if there is such a rule, maybe you will be able to choose your friends.
In conclusion, fuck you. Train your D friends if you want, shouldn't make a difference either way if they really are friends you want to train. If you want to play in the league, play by the rules everyone else plays by. You're ruining the spirit of the league. can I report that post, thats just attacking some1 for his opinion on something... i dont really know how to report around here What the hell? Seriously, you haven't been contributing anything for the last six pages of this thread. Poke brought up a good, cohesive, and well-structured argument, while this entire time you've been spouting off nonsense along the lines of "wut ur saying dosnt maek sens so ur wr0ng." Sure, Poke's argument was aggressive, but he brought up a good point.
yes he posted a good argument, but he also attacked a TL user which is against TL rules...

Also, no matter what the coach vote results are, THE DECISION IS FINAL. No more bitching. l10f has enough on his plate as it is. (That means, Poke, don't be a douchebag and make things hard on l10f by bullshit player switch requests if Storr gets his team. And Storr, if you're not playing, then you're not playing.)

"No, fuck you StorrZerg." you know people get banned for those types of personal attacks. Im sorry you are not fully aware of whats going on. I asked to be added with players, i was told it would happen. If i was refused my players then would have signed up just like everyone else. After much discussion. l10f has put this up to a vote for the coaches, I'm following the race and skill distribution rules, which means there will be fair play. You are picking from people who didn't even sign up. How is that fair? How can you read my post and honestly think you are being fair to people in this league? As I've said multiple times. My players would have signed up if l10f had not agreed to put my team up. Can you please read my posts next time with out flaming me more?
the thing is your players skipped the "random" drawing as far as i understand it. meaning not all or none of your friends were likely to get in. now if it did happen to turn out that way then its not THAT big of a deal i suppose

points 2 and 3 don't really hold any water.
2. its not as if storr's team is replacing another team or players. if the vote goes against storr 6 different people are not going to get into the league. in fact, it's more likely that 12 LESS people will be involved as teams 15 and 16 get dropped to keep teams even.
3. The request for the team was made before signups were over. That has been stated several times already by storr...

Unless Storr decides to be a good soldier and take on six random people, with the possibility that some of them might be his friends... But of course, that's not going to be possible, is it?

I would have a couple questions if I were one of the other coaches:
How well do you know these players? How often have you seen them play? How well do you already know their strengths and weaknesses? I don't think I need to expand on how this would affect the difficulty of coaching.
Do you live near any or all of your team? Will you have any in-person training sessions? Again, this would make things a lot easier, especially in regards to watching the mechanics of players. Watching someone play for just a few minutes, you can easily find out which things they're doing inefficiently. Meanwhile, the other coaches would have to ask questions such as 'which fingers are you using for x?' for every single mechanic in order to be as thorough.
Even though I missed out on being picked for this myself, these questions seem more important than the emotional angle is.

I do not live near any of them. And they are on during the same time i'm on which is how i meet with them. I have played games with them, but i have not spent any real time in looking at their strengths and weaknesses other than, bad macro (which i hear is quite common at D lvl)

Just let it go storrzerg. you pm'd when the signups were already closed, so your players couldnt POSSIBLY have signed up, even if you were not assured they would get a spot, so your argument here that 'otherwise they would have signed up' falls apart. You're being very selfish with wanting to do this, and disrupting a lot, theres really no reason for you to be SO insistent that what you're doing is justifiable, when you're trying to get an advantage for your students (bypassing random draw) that none of the others had. If you're let into the league, the coaches will half to hold a fucking vote each and every time some dumb shit happens instead of l10f and raptor just smacking down some predetermined rules on them. Again, you're being extremely childish with this. If you wanted to help your friends improve, thats fine, but dont threaten this tournament in its early and fragile stages to achieve that.

People are able to still sign up, and get slotted in when people drop out (if enough drop out)

I think everyone should chill out a bit about a starcraft league that two people are running for fun.

since it was done AFTER signups were done, this would mean that none of your friends would be in unless drop outs happened correct? which part of what you're doing is fair to 6 others?
