Lomo (there's a reason why "homo for Lomo" was a thing back in the day) IntoTheRainBOw (probably the player who nailed the "guy that looks like a chick" look) XellOs (his "don't give a fuck" appearance was popular with the ladies, but he was actually a good player so maybe a bit unfair to put him in here) Pure (guy had an immaculate jawline and was above average in height)
The last three there all had some great successes. I don't know if I'd say known more for their looks. I know them all well and had never seen them.
Context: I recorded a reaction video to SC2GG Commentator Idol from 2009, and I was cringing because I had commented on progamers' attractiveness, rather than respect them for the gameplay. But I was reminded in Reddit, of all places, that this was a whole mood, and that you can respect both body and gameplay.
In other news, people in 2021 still recognize ForGG.

And these aren't just random decent fighting game players - these are players who have won tournaments like EVO Japan and CPT.
This got me thinking... what if something similar happened with Starcraft players in a Korean boy band? After all, pros are already celebrities and I'm sure there are plenty of women (mostly in their late 20's and 30's) who would be into these guys.
What do you think? Could something like this ever work in Korea? If you could choose 5 Starcraft pros to star in a Korean boy band, who would you pick?

That would depend on whatever you believe are the qualifications for making a good boy band
If any of y'all remember HoeJJa from KT, he was the Zerg that was incredibly inconsistent except for in the playoffs & played with a left-handed mouse.
There's a Korean interview with InfestedZeratul (who does amazing work either interviewing old prominent Korean Starcraft figures like the creator of Fighting Spirit or the KeSPA referee who decided to call the Jaedong vs Flash power outage game & reviewing games of the past) where he explained he now works as a personal trainer (& loves that he got to play video games as a progamer & now as a personal trainer). He also spoke about his time at the KT house & that he would probably play Terran if he were to become a progamer from the beginning.
The Terran player 910 from MBCGame was also very big with working out apparently but stated he has more fat than HoeJJa & doesn't want to show off as easily.
