I have been practicing Starcraft II about 2 weeks now (from 6 month break). My belief is that Team Leviathan is a sponsored Starcraft II team, and I am annoyed by their arrogance and unkind demeanor. I challenge them to up to 3 best of 5 matches. I wish to show that they are not at all good or worthy of sponsorship, and that on the contrary they are a bunch of narcissistic nerds who are neither sincere about Starcraft, nor skillful players; nor are they respectful beings (I expect this latter claim to be evinced by their behavior). The first player to defeat me will receive $100 via Paypal.
If this is blog material, please move to blogs.
Jeffrey Haynes tell your starcraft team that i'll play up to 3 players in bo5, and paypal $100 to the first one to beat in me
Jeffrey Haynes match date a week from now, no observers, mutually streamed
Jeffrey Haynes since everyone on 'leviathan' uses map hacks and performance enhancing substances
Jeffrey Haynes i can't do much about the substances but i'd like any of the team members who is willing to play me to stream live from their computer so that their FP-view can be seen
Jeffrey Haynes my other requirements are no smurfs, don't recruit anyone outside of the team's current roster to play
Jeffrey Haynes i will have people to determine whether there are smurfs and i'll record the replays
Jeffrey Haynes if there are any smurfs then the money is forfeit
Jeffrey Haynes i reserve the right to choose one commentator of my choice to commentate the match
Jeffrey Haynes because i'm the one paying if i should lose
Jeffrey Haynes also, if any player should beat me i require a replay pack from that player of the player's previous games dating at least a month previous to compare and determine that the player is in fact the same player (and that i am not losing to a smurf who is not currently on team leviathan)
Jeffrey Haynes i will not be using any substances when i participate in this competition, and in the spirit of good sportmanship i request that any player on team leviathan who opts to play me be willing to do the same, however, there is no way to enforce this regulation but so long as my requirement of mutual livestream is followed i am willing to take it on good faith that leviathan is not dependent on performance enhancing substances and is in fact capable of playing Starcraft II with the degree of skill that their current arrogance suggests

Ooh, this looks like it'll be fun, Starcraft 2 has been lacking in the good grudge match department for awhile, we gotta get Day9 casting this!
|
Interesting. Be sure to have a neutral party agreed upon by both sides to determine whether or not, in the case that you lose, the money is forfeit or not. You can't be the person to decide that.

Failsafe, I love your posts in the high thread I hope you smash these apparent BMers!! Team failsafe. Update OP with date and times if they accept!

I'm confused. Need more backstory and who the hell Jeffrey Haynes is.

Oh lordy. Not sure if like. Is there any background information?

Here is a little back story to this. I am Mhodesty and currently playing for team Leviathan. Recently we recruited a new member, a pretty good terran player, who was friends with Jeff back in the brood war days. So we got all of us together in a skype call and opened up a peepmode session and started to play. Jeff opens up by trying to get onto the team. He stated that he knows for a fact that he is a significantly better player than any of us and that within two months he will be able to beat professional players (he actually said that he would be able to beat Idra if you want to know specifically).
We took him seriously at first too. We explained to him that the way our recruitment works is that we meet the player, if we like them we hang out with them for a few weeks to get to know them a little bit and then we decide if we would like for them to join our team. Apparently Jeff didn't like what he heard...
He then went on to get aggressive with us and insult us over the skype call and creating a completely un-enjoyable environment for all people in the call, so we asked the host to kick him from the call. He decides to leave on his own accord with a "Fuck you guys."
So I am not really sure why he hates us so much, we invited him to play and initially were seriously considering giving him a chance to try out for the team through our previously stated process. He also stated multiple times during the call that he was under the influence of alcohol (and who knows what else), and we told Jeff that if he wanted to come back when he was sober we would be willing to play with him again.
As far as this show match is concerned, there is no positive for us in taking this match, so I personally will not be doing as such. Also, we don't have the computers to stream FP right now, and that's why we aren't streaming all the time, so even if we wanted to accept your "challenge" we couldn't adhere to your demands.
At Leviathan we are an competitive organization competing in playhems, MLGs, and any other tournament we can. That being said, no one here is claiming to be bonjwa.

Jeffrey Haynes what's going on here? What's "Team Leviathan" (and why should we care :/)? Jeffrey Haynes at least clean up the OP a bit so it's not some random chat logs

hmm maybe i sohuldnt have invited him to practice...

This seems so pointless, no screenshots, no evidence nothing. This is you holding a personal grudge about a team not many people know about and with little to go on to behold your claims.
Even if they were sponsored and by your personal perspective, you dictate that they are, somehow, narcisstic/BM, etc. How is it your obligation or even your duty to not only call them out, but to discredit them from a sponsor they've earned or personally achieved.
You're seeking trouble, but you're not putting up much to show. The showmatch is a sham because it's neither on friendly terms nor really agreed by both parties as mutually rewarding. Talk about shoving a spotlight under yourself. The money isn't worth the challenge nor enable your call as acknowledgement that they're remotely true.

This guy is obviously drunk or high or something. Leviathan is a respectable team and I know MHodesty personally, and he's really hardworking and genuinely nice. He's also supportive, and from what I recall he's going to be/currently is the captain of a CSL team. There's no reason to bash a team and calling them out on a thread without any evidence of bad mannerism when you can settle things personally. Ridiculous BM and other readers should note that these claims are falsely based.

my experience from our skype call is quite different. my impression is that you're a bunch of deceitful, narcissistic clowns who abuse drugs to increase your performance in video games and rely on a chaotic nonsensical style of confusing mockery to antagonize other people. there was no substance to your team's dialogue except that it sounded like a rehearsed antagonistic concert that you've probably put on multiple times before and probably to great negative effect on other people.
when i heard that Aidan consistently beat your 5-0+ it was obvious that your team is not near my skill level (me having invested far more time in SC2 than Aidan and also having better results). anyway don't paint this picture i arrived pandering to your team because i had some high opinion of your team quality. just the opposite, it sounded like your team had a lot of money and a lot less skill, and so if you are in fact a sponsored team with available funds to sponsor players to tournaments MLG then it was in my best interest to apply and represent an otherwise unskilled team (because i am sure that your team would act in its own best interest sending me if i was indeed the best player -- and i can say with certainty that i would be).
i'm not sure why you automatically doubt my claims that i could beat professional players; was it something in my demeanor, or my declared unwillingness to abuse performance-enhancing substances to improve my play? obviously it's been quite some time since i played a video game competitively, but at least while i was playing competitively i had respectable results against famous players, (Artosis, LzGamer, Day[9], Idra, HuK, Assem, Dimaga, NonY). it's true that wrist problems probably ended my professional career prematurely and prevented me reaching the level that i otherwise would have displayed, but to be sure i could at least keep pace with players who regarded to be quite skilled.
i don't think the influence of substances weighs heavily on my decisions or that there was any bias in my behavior until it was clear that your team was openly hostile and more a team of well-rehearsed clowns than anything like serious sportsman with an interest in Starcraft. i'm not sure what you mean when you say that i hate you. my motivations were purely business, that is, i saw an opportunity to benefit both myself and your team by bringing superior skill to a financial organization, and i thought you would have no objection to that. to my knowledge i have no history with any of your players, nor are any of the players on your team famous enough to have caught my attention with their performance at previous events. i suspect a great deal of your sponsorship is probably obtained under the guise of being more skillful or enjoying more renown than is true of any player on your team.
i think you've done nothing but slander me and painted quite the false image of our interaction, and of course i am not surprised. while it's true that i left with the words 'fuck you', it's unfair to say that the words unwarranted. i recall the preceding sentence from your player with the annoyingly high-pitched nasal voice was 'I am going to watch Aidan beat you, and then I'm going to laugh and kick you from this call.' to that i think 'fuck you' is the appropriate response. your team has neither the professional conduct or the skill to achieve anything in Starcraft 2, and i hope that by issuing this challenge and your ensuing refusal that i can save your sponsors money and perhaps illustrate to other sponsored teams that i am a serious contender willing to put effort into my work.
i have no interest joining your team and i'm not surprised that you backed down from a challenge that gives you great odds at $100 with no negative consequences if you were to lose. i think it's a given that no one on your team is a 'bonjwa' since you don't even have a player on the featured streams listed, much less ever placed in GSL, MLG, NASL, TSL, IPL, or any other respected tournament.

to my suprise i have never heard of team leviathan so you can already guess i have never heard of their *cheating* although if you will play this match please update ur post with a stream link i'd love to watch the stream. Goodluck!

Failsafe sounds like a huge douchebag. I don't care if he was MVP level I wouldn't want to hang out or play with him either.

LevPosistomp here...
The level of confusion is what baffles me most here. Through the entire call I thought you were a hilarious guy with a sarcastic sense of humor, and all of a sudden you become angry and freak out. And what is this about "performance enhancing drugs?" I am "straight edge" for lack of a better term....so much confusion is going through my head right now.
Anyway, we are just four dudes having a good time, playing our best, practicing, and traveling to MLGs, trying to be a part of E sports. I am sorry that you do not perceive us as a legitimate team and didn't have fun on Skype with us. Nobody was trying to be mean, and I was laughing at what I thought were jokes coming from you. I even messaged Mhodesty and I was like "This kid is fucking hilarious, he has a great sense of humor" and then minutes later I learned you were serious the entire time when you left the call angry. I am not sure what you expected when you joined the call... did you expect a bored WoW guildmaster tone where we were talking about build orders? We are 4 close friends who laugh and joke while we practice.
Lastly, if you were the best player in the world, I wouldn't want to showmatch you, or even care if you're better, because the level of hostility you showed us last night was not something we like to be a part of. So if politely declining your challenge makes me or my teammates worthless in your eyes, that is fine by me, because your standards of what matters given your conduct last night are not important to me. Part of why I love Starcraft is that the community has thus far been so kind and welcoming to me and the guys that I play with.
If you want to talk to me so we can clear whatever confusion you have about the Skype call, I added you last night, so you are more than welcome to do so. I feel like most of this was a misunderstanding, but the offensive comments leveled at us as players and at our team are way out of line.

I've never heard of either party - why is this stupid drama even on TL? An amateur team of friends and some guy's anger have no place here :/
|
So essentially Failsafe is just namedropping people he has won against and talking shit about people he thinks he can beat? =/ And where exactly did the use of performance enhancing drugs come from, anyway? This whole thing sounds pretty silly to me, unless I completely missed a key aspect somewhere.
|
Would just like to say that the way that Failsafe conducts himself here compared to the members of Leviathan reflects upon his mannerism.
A mod should really close this thread, this is ridiculous.
