Hi all ! This blog sums up my SC2 contributions to the TL community as a guide-writer,
as my guides began to be numerous and kind of "hidden" in the Sc2 Strategy section.

Who I am IRL

Hi there, my name is Quentin, i'm 20 years old, French. I recently moved from Strasbourg to Paris. I'm currently studying in a school called "EEMI" --> European School of the Internet that has just been created by french entrepreneurs.

Who I am as a SC2 player

My ID is aXa, i'm Zerg on the Europe server. I began as Terran during Beta and then switched to zerg. I'm a high-mid master player:
Season 2: Rank 17 master
Season 3: Rank 44 master
Season 4: Rank 19 master
I never played a lot (Only 601 win in 1v1 as zerg, 100 as Terran) but i spent a lot of time thinking about the game.
You can rarely get a "gl hf" or a "gg" out of me
My favorites player are, order of awesomeness: Idra, Nestea, Stephano, Losira, DRG.

The early guides

April the 11th
9 pool/zergling/baneling/infestor/ultralisk

My guides has always been about changing/avoiding the meta-game when it displeased me.

The story of the first guide was ever wrote is quite simple. It goes back to the time were Zerg has such an hard time against Protoss and could not figure how to deal against a deathball properly.
I figured out that zergling/baneling/infestor was a viable army comp quite a while before it became a common build in ZvP. Then destiny and morrow started used a similar style to great effect.

At the time, 9 pool against protoss was a great opening to use, because protoss didn't know how to react properly.

April the 15th
9 pool ZvZ: Opening and follow up

9 pool and I is about love. I first discovered 9 pool watching a Day9 daily about NEXlife. Then i figured it could be used in ZvP. 4 day's later, i refined the build for ZvZ, giving me an absurd winrate in this incredibly volatile matchup. I always hated the zergling/baneling on 1 base shenanigans. My second guide was born.
It created a controversy: Was 9 pool really worth it economically? The theoretical answer is no, if we use mathematics 9 pool is clearly worse than another opening. But in practice, it gives you so much edge in term of mind-games, planning and pressure, that even today it is still a good build to use on small/medium map.

August the 14th
aXa ZvZ, Ladder Season 3

I have the feeling that ZvZ evolves a lot faster that any other match up. This guide presents a better version of the 9 pool as well as an hatch first build i used for S3. Now with the metagame shift (muta into ultra) it is quite outdated. Still interesting for the 9 pool part !

The recent guides

September the 1st
aXa's ZvT: Let's start the agression

This is by far my best guide. Every time i feel a match up broken, and it clearly was at the time if you watched GSL, i felt the need to go very deep in the meta-game analysis and figure out what went wrong. After a night of reflexion (understand crashing my head into a wall because i hate terran) i came up with the idea that zergling could be as good mineral dump as marines are, giving a much quicker pace of tech/upgrade for the zerg player. Quickly after this guide, we saw stephano playing with a similar style to great effect. Of course he never read my guide, but i felt quite proud to have a theory valid in GM league
This thread created some hype. Kangaruthless casted some of my replays, then a fellow player challenged me to do a Bo5 against him
You can find the VOD's in the bottom of my thread, or at directly in Kangaruthless youtube channel.

September the 6th
aXa's ZvP: Revisting a Nestea's build

This build is so funny, you can't even imagine ! I love it. I was so tired being cannon rushed/ cheesed by protoss i found this little tricky strat to get some pay back.

I have to go now but i will make this blog looks better later

Axa, as a zerg let me just say you are one of my favorite posters.
I will say that they are more helpful to lower league players because they are kind of cheesey and require your opponent to play bad. I am masters and I have memorized the BOs and used them all a lot (except spine crawler rush). I stop using them when I start facing more opponents who are just better than me. They respond corrently and then I'm at a disadvantage.
For instance your zvz guides were like my bible until the 9 pool started to do absolutely no damage to the 14/14s and neither did the subsequent roach push.

I remember your ZvT guide on making random lings and calling it strategy, not sure how much of an actual contribution you are making.

A contribution can be good or bad. For example, my guides are a good contribution, because it helps lower league players, speed the meta-game shifting. Another example: your contribution is bad, because you're just randomly trashing someone on a blog, to no use. At least it made me laugh

Thank you for your contributions aXa, they're appreciated I spend a lot of time reading them and they have helped out quite a bit with understanding the game, especially with ZvZ.

I've gone through several of your builds now, most recently your ZvT style. I feel like the way you play is very similar to the way I would like to ideally play, so I was wondering if you have released any replay packs, or if not if you would be willing to?
