EPT1. Bring your own chairs next time. Maybe a tall stool if those exist. Either way, getting a seat, let alone multiple seats is a pain in the ass.

2. You are going to inevitably fall asleep or become drowsy during the games. I had the misfortune of having to watch 12 (i think?) TvT's in a row with my friends...of course I could have simply chosen not to watch them, but then I'd be extremely bored and stuck next to Disneyland for a really long time. Next time, I'm bringing my fucking pillow pet:

3. Attending something like this means a lot of nerds are going. A lot of stinky, sweaty, smelly nerds. For other's sake, put on some extra deodorant. For protection, sneak in some beef jerky. I swear, the smell of beef jerky overcomes everything.

4. There's going to be downtime. Major downtime. There isn't much to do there besides watch people play video games unless you're actually competing in it. If I wasn't broke, I would've thrown away $75 just to play.

5. Pepto Bismol. Tums. Something else to counteract the 20 cans of Dr. Pepper that everyone drinks. Holy shit, I would've stopped myself from drinking that stuff, but I couldn't help myself...I don't think anyone can resist FREE Dr. Pepper...

Other than that, I kinda enjoyed being there live. It's a little bit different than watching the stream cause you get to meet the commentators, the players, and the community. I did get to play 1 ladder game on the Alienware van (horrible setup I must say) and won. It was a TvT. At the time, DongRaeGu was playing MVP on Metapolis. Little did I know that the last 9 games would be ALL TvT...
I swear, I'm changing my race now just because I don't want to see or play another hellion vs hellion battle ever again. Jesus Christ, that unit dominated this MLG...
I did notice, however, that I learn less from watching their games than when I watched BW games back in the day. All I could see was macro, multitask, micro, and decision making from the winners (who just oh so happen to be korean)
I'm happy to see that there is some skill needed to play this game (haha), but I'm also disheartened because now the only difference that separates me from the koreans is the gap in mechanics, like it has been for the past 2 years in BW, beta, and now. Damn learning the game was so much easier than mastering this game. Even with all the noob friendly features, at the end of the day, you still have to mash your keyboard and click with the mouse.
And as a closing note, it was very interesting that the ladies that did show up to MLG, other than the sponsor girls that were paid to be there, were actually not that bad looking (give or take like 20 uggos). I was half expecting them to be like the girls at Anime Expo (the horrors...).
For those of you that went, how was your experience at MLG Anaheim?
And for those of you that stayed at home Sunday, you made the right choice (way too many freaking TvTs...)
