Anyway, most of the time, when she says stuff like that all i can say is either "you're not fat" or "why would you need to do that" I wanna know what's the most subtle way of phrasing "i think you're hot" without being explicit about it? Something that implies i notice that she's got a good figure. What can i do with the situation, i don't want to be so direct cause she's attached, but i just want to flirt cause she's so funny. Sorry again if this is stupid, i don't have a way with words.    | ||

 If your good friends she shouldn't take offense. I have a friend who does that all the time. I always say stuff like that and if you lost anymore weight you might fall through a crack in the floor hahahahaha. | ||

As for telling her she's hot, say your friends think she's hot rather than you yourself. Again, having another source comes off as more trustworthy than you yourself, and having multiple people is great. This works for me all the time, although only if you have mutual acquaintances. It doesn't even have to be true since she will never confront them about it. Just make sure you get the point across not that they like her, but that they think she is attractive. | ||

Many girls look great, but get this idea from somewhere that they don't, and it becomes really hard for them to believe it when you say they look good. (I am speaking from experience-- I am a fairly slim woman with a good figure but for years I really believed I was almost obese because of remarks my father constantly made to me since I was little about how I needed to exercise more and stop eating food because my ass looked big in my jeans. (Yeah, he's an ass.) I developed an eating disorder and just stopped eating hardly anything for a few years.) If you are concerned that maybe she isn't eating right, or over-exercising to an unhealthy point, speak to a school councilor about it, or confront her about it. When she says she needs to lose weight, etc. it's better to get annoyed that sympathetic. Tell her to stop talking like that, it's bullshit. This is a different approach than many people take and will probably get more attention from her than saying no, no, you look fine (this will go in one ear and out the other). The best way to do this is to say something when she has NOT just said she thinks she needs to lose weight or something along that line. If you say it after she says something, she is likely to think that you are speaking reflexively to what she said, and not necessarily sincere. Instead, when you see her, find something to compliment her about-- tell her you really like her hair, or she looks really great in her summer dress, or whatever you happen to find attractive. This is a really nice surprise for many girls and makes them happy to hear that someone is noticing something they find attractive about them. | ||

just tell her she's hot, pretty, beautiful, or whatever you want. it'll flatter them, but wont change their perspective about themselves. everyone has insecurities about their body. girls tend to use the fat excuse more often | ||
