EPTSo who am I?
I AM COOLCRIMEFIGHTER. I've been playing bw and following korean bw since 2008. I'm going to be a freshman at UC Riverside this fall (still bitter about getting rejected from UCI). My highest rank on iccup is C- http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/gamingprofile/[dBhS]CcF.html. I've been struggling lately because I got a new laptop with windows 7 and I can only play in window mode.
The Beginning
So since I live in a city where EVERYBODY is asian, I was introduced to starcraft/TL by my friends at school. Here are some pictures of our TL crew.

nerds ballin out of control
Since they were already following the proscene, I was watching proleague shortly after I started broodwar. I didn't really have any practice partners at my skill level when I first started because all my friends were already playing at a decent level. I lost game after game, in fact I lost to one of my friends (pSikh0) well over 100 times before I finally beat him. Thats the thing about bw, you can lose every single game and still have a lot of fun. It also makes that first victory a lot sweeter. During this period of my bw "career" I really developed a competitive nature for bw and it made me fascinated with the proscene and teamliquid.

I went to this lan with a few of my friends and met a lot of cool people and had a great time. Even though the other people were just a little bit more skilled than me and my friends, we still had some great games and a great dinner afterwards (just joking about the skill btw). This was our first time meeting other people from TL and it turned out great.

this was basically a bunch of D level players getting coached. this is when i really actually "got better" at bw and put me at a level above all the rest of my friends. Big thanks to PsyonicReaver and Firezerg for coaching me!
WCG
Well WCG 2010 happened to take place in Los Angeles, which is near where I live. It was a great experience because I got to watch live bw and meet some really famous people. We got our tickets from one of our teachers at school which is kind of funny. Now to meet the people I met at WCG.

Final Thoughts
Even though the korean scene continues to live on, I'll still miss moments like this http://blip.tv/day9tv/college-starleague-finals-ucsd-vs-duke-game-7-3680256. Theres nothing like watching one of your favorite schools take down a beast like nony.I'll never be able to have experiences like these again because of the declining popularity of bw. I'm still grateful that I was able to have such a wonderful time with bw in my life and I hope bw has left the same great impression on you that it has on me.
