The schedule at OGN today said Starcraft, but surprisingly when I arrived it was actually the Shinhan Bank sponsored Dungeon and Fighter League 'King of Dungeon and Fighter.'

I know less than nothing about this game (except for having seen it a couple of times on television.) However, I thought people might be interested to see how different the set up (and players) are from SC events.

The stage is a central island where players stand up facing each other to compete. A placard girl announces the different rounds of fighting (D&F is a 2D beat-em-up) and ceremonies are done before playing upon the main stage you always see used for Proleague/OSL.

The crowd is free to stand around behind the low metal fence boardering the central island. It's a pretty casual set up, but the staging is really impressive (compared to other events.) with big free-standing banners and special metal fences which are lit up.

The current champion/successful teams sit on a sofa to one side with the championship belt for the duration of the games. The fan base itself is pretty much only guys with about 10-15 girls present in a crowd of over 100.

In the breaks between matches the mcs talk to fans and some of them even do dancing for the crowd. It's pretty random, but fun to attend.

One of the teams seemed particularly hellbent upon doing cute poses for my photos. I think (as usual) they were just shocked to see a foreigner - especially seen as Dungeon and Fighter is definitely one of the more obscure esports.

(These were just for fun so they're not my usual standard, but it was good practice and a fun experience.)
