Flash is the best player in the world right now not just because he does his homework and not just because he does his homework perfectly, but because on top of all that, he likes what he does. He has a natural aptitude for conceiving a theory and putting it into practice. He’s not just a progamer, he’s also a philosopher of retention and control. You feel as if at any given moment, Flash can tell you his body temperature down to the hundredth of a degree centigrade. He’s that composed.
Flash exemplifies what the essence of the Terran race has become and where it’s headed. The Terran race is math, abstraction, ice. It’s everything that distances you from the outside world. If you want to destroy your enemy and you’re a Terran, you don’t run over to his place and cave his head in like a caveman. No. You sit at home and you do your homework. You watch all his VODs, take notes, and watch them again. You memorize every tiny detail of the maps you’ll play on. And you practice your mechanics until they become as natural to you as your own bones. Compliation, calibration, and regulation; data, charts, and dossiers: that is what Terran is, and that is how Terran is going to stay.
Flash is the ghost in the shell, and the shell is progaming. He dominates mentally, which is to say, intangibly. He wins games before they’ve even been played. You appreciate Flash in the same way that Flash plays, which is to say cerebrally. Other players have a style. Flash has a theory. His victories are the proof of that theory. Jaedong has the best physical in the world, but Flash has the best mental. E-SPORTS is a physical sport like any other, but what makes it E-SPORTS is not that it’s a mental sport (since all sports are mental), but that the mental aspect can be differentiated from the physical aspect. When you dribble a basketball, you don’t think about dribbling the basketball. You’ve practiced the action so long that your body just does it. There is no theory of ice skating independent of the skating itself. Your body skates as well your training and concentration (that is, your absence of thought) permit you to. You don’t skate. Your body skates.
I love Jaedong and everything Jaedong stands for: focus, passion, relentlessness, activity, the striving for physical perfection. Jaedong epitomizes a different race with different units and a different attitude, a race of fire, one in which the body is the mind. But I can see the writing on the wall. I can respect the Terran for whom the mind is the body. Now that he has a good teammates and a stable, nourishing training environment to help shield his actual body from stress and overwork, Flash too is “here to stay.” Other Terrans will copy his build orders and even his execution, but they won’t copy the mind behind it all. A pure dominion of the mind: I can respect it.
But I can’t be charmed by it. Charm is bodily. It requires no reasons, only incarnation. Flash has no charm for the same reason Tiger Woods has no charm: he’s been conditioned to be completely premeditated. Golf is the most Terran of sports, a sport in which to be spontaneous is a liability.

Well said. I indeed love Flash because he is so cerebral, composed under pressure, and has excellent decision making. I can see why some people don't find his play exciting.

Yeah, Flash is so fucking good that Best has a 100% win rate against him. Unbelievable. Flash is too good.

I understand being a fan of a certain player, but HATING players is the dumbest shit I ever heard. Whats dumb is how people watch games of players they "HATE" and put them down the whole fucking time. Can't you just enjoy the SC scene. The pro gaming scene on TL.net is almost unbearable because of this.

You need to turn this into a FE With some more body, some pics and a video or two (flash highlight ahem*) this could be an FE

Flash is probably the best player in the world atm. But he sucks cause one word: cheeeeeeese.
He ruined series v Jaedong. Nobody likes to watch the game lasts 3 minutes. Cheap and lame way to win, he doesnt need that. Yes, you can argue that he has the skill to cheese Jaedong but its still lame. I expected to wath good game and what I got was ****.. I was dissappointed.

So basically you are disappointed because he did something else that you expected? Life is not fair, deal with it. Flash has absolutely no obligation to your expectations. I liked that game.

I for one, love watching games that last three minutes.
Imagine the hopes, dreams, and practice hours that Jaedong put into that game and Flash crushed them with a well timed rush three minutes in.
It's one of the reasons Starcraft is so good, because you can lose at ANY POINT of the game. This ain't no 3v3 ZC NR20 on battle.net.

Must say that I love when flash plays MnM though!

Flash is really really good. I'm not a Flash fan because I like players who show emotion and do crazy awesome builds. Flash doesn't really show emotion and his builds are usually pretty bland or reactionary to what his opponent is doing.
Given, that's how you become the best and that is why he is doing so well, but it doesnt make me a fan.
I love all progamers, but cmon, ZerO and FBH put on a way better show.

So Boxer sucks a lot, and has always sucked, following your ill logic.
You guys are complaining all day long about the good old days when people were using other strategy than 1 rax FE vs 3 Hatch Muta we have all seen and played 67563756768 times. Someone comes and play a prepared strategy, non standard stuff and you are all crying like jackass because it's "gay" and "cheese".
Buy a brain or something. You will notice that players in their prime cheese a lot. When they stop cheesing, that means that they are not as good as before. Cheesing needs a lot of confidence, of mind game. Cheesing is great. It keeps the game alive, it question standard playing which is incredibly greedy if you think about it.
Flash sucked when he started playing only more and more greedy: 14 CC after 14 CC. That sucks. But seing him stomping the best zerg in the world with a perfectly prepared bunker rush, with a 7 rax perfectly timed to catch first overlord, that's just amazing.
Look at Morrow replay pack. He won an incredible number of game with the same rush. So what. You know what is the conclusion? The conclusion is not that he is a cheesy noob, the conclusion is that he has been smart and everybody suck balls so hard that they can't defend against a bunker rush. If you can't defend at all against a bunker rush, then don't open 12 hatch, because, simple as that, you don't have the level for this opening. And if you can defend but somehow you fail, then don't rage at your opponent who has balls and took risks.

Lol don't open 12 hatch..
Try overpool/9 pool vs a wall (terran opening vulture) (especially with ling speed), it's fucking hard to come back.
Try 12 pool vs 1 rax FE. The timing is very different, and you may not have good muta micro to do very fast 2 hatch muta.
