Seriously though, I think Hot_Bid said that 80% of MLG is partying, who the hell doesn't go because one of their biggest issues is that they have to stand (or they lose their seat). the games are on the internet after anyways, why not just watch the games after you went to MLG if you don't like standing that much

I mostly agree with the OP / Hot_Bid and atmuh. Watching tournaments in your region from home (or a bar if available) on a big screen TV in HD with a bunch of friends has a lot of advantages. Playing games or just bullshitting in the downtime. At home most of the time sitting on a big ass couch is more comfortable in any case as chairs on venues. And also taking a nice toilet break becomes less of a hassle 
Tournaments played in other regions (like America if you live in Europe) are left out of the equation because most of the time you can't even afford to go there time or money wise and if you want to watch them you'll need either a bar or sitting alone behind your computer so you can easily go to bed when absolutely unable to keep your eyes open. If you first have to kick all your friends out it becomes annoying for eveyone
Edit: but that is just the comfort / conveniance aspect.
The whole meeting new people and the atmosphere of such a big venue not considered.

I think going to a live event is so much more than just watching the games on a bigger screen (and in a less comfortable chair) but it's rather difficult to reproduce the atmosphere of a huge hall full of nerds at home. I'd really like to go to an MLG one day, although currently logistics are difficult

When I went to MLG Anaheim.. I didn't even really watch the games. IMO going to a live event is about so much more.
It's about meeting all of these people you hear about and talk to in real life and having fun. You get to make new friends and just talk about the game we all love. You even get to go to the parties
And at home it's purely about the games, which is still awesome, but not the same.

2) I don't follow or care about what happened in Broodwar in 2003 or have encyclopedia knowledge of every high post count has-been in the scene

4) Posting "no one cares" can be said in just about every blog post on this site.

This is no secret. In fact if you'd read the 10 commandments you'd know this. It's one of the things that makes TL great; a forum newbie (like myself, relative to the more respected veterans) can't just go and insult great personalities and veterans with 10k+ posts and over one year of active posting on TL. I don't post on reddit myself, but if they treat everybody equally then I don't wish to. I'm sure Reddit is great and all that, but yeah.
If you think wp.org and reddit are fantastic sites, then that's excellent. If you disagree with TL's moderation policies, you can either try to post in website feedback, or you can go away from TL.
edit: Oh yeah, the "douche who quoted him", people aren't normally punished for agreeing with people, as long as they add something as far as I'm aware of.

If by nothing by image memes and "shit like this posts" are relevant, than sure r/starcraft is relevant.
How do you know TL's bias towards Rekrul is unabashed if you don't know anything about Rekrul and perhaps the other members who have been here for a long time and are most likely deserving of their special treatment as they have earned it.
