So it's been about of month of no Iccup and I decided to play some Terran. I tried toss for a while and it sucked so I'm staying with Terran.
I joined some D python game and my opponent was D-. Since my high rank is C I thought it would be easy win. Game lasts over 20 minutes and I lose.. I know my play is pretty shitty from inactivity but I didn't think that I could lose to some D- protoss ever. I'm actually shocked right now.
Rep Link Is that really D- level? Holy crap things have changed this last month.

ok i watched the replay, and man do i hate terrans like you. You are the pure definition of a turtle terran! You got your third way too late, and you never pressured the protoss at all, except with your petty dropship harass.
It's ok to move out with a few tanks/vultures!
Be sure to mine up the map to know where your opponent is at all times! Use your vultures to their max, 75 minerals for 3 mines + attack power? use them for all they're worth, use those mines!
You bunched up your tanks when you made your push, which made it very easy for protoss to stasis and move in.
You are just wayyyyyyyy too passive. Do something! Attack, harass, expand, do SOMETHING!
edit: also i watched your factories for a while, and half the time they weren't even making units when you weren't maxed!

never underestimate how easily a toss can gay you lol.

Well, I wouldnt call him D- level, but he certainly is not very good.
I think what cost you the game was your first initial push. You 2 are close bases, so it would be alot better to slowpush him with tons of turrets and mines. It wouldnt take long to push to his natural, and that would contain him, allowing you to hold your expansions. Instead you fast pushed him, got statis'd and lost all your units.
The 2nd push, when he was at your 3oclock expo, you sent all your vultures first, they all died, then your tanks came in alone, they got statis'd, and lastly you leave your 2 vessels over his army, and he just targets them and they die.
Personally, I think you should of abused mines ALOT more. He rarely even used observers with his army. He certainly didnt try to clear any mines, unless you call running into them with his army "clearing them" lol.
Other than that, you just had a bunch of macro slips (which is to be expected after a month of not playing)

He seemed like someone capable of getting D+ or maybe C- with this PvT. It could be that his other match-ups are pretty bad which is keeping him at D- but I am 100% sure that wasn't 'D-' level PvT.

Well I wasn't playing very safe because I thought he was actually D-. When I play D players I just attack move my unsieged tanks at the end and win. The rest of my mistakes were due to me being flustered that he could actually stop my first push.
edit: Other rep Other other rep These are two reps that I also played today. This is what I expect at the D levels and why I'm confused at that D- level's play. Both the players in the reps are d/d+ i think. My macro was wasn't much different but the end result was

You should probably keep your macro up, and go for more harass, etc. Especially with your APM, you could easily make a move out onto the map. Your skill level and rank tells me you can play much better than this, and you probably just underestimated that D-.
Don't worry about it. You let your guard down and someone took advantage of it. No need to beat yourself up over it.

my suggestion to you, then, is to play good regardless of who you're playing
and when you do a bunch of dumb shit that 'usually works against D- players' or whatever and lose, don't come to TL to make a blog about it wondering what happened
D- is circumstantial, you can't just plow a bunch of chobos if you're not significantly better than them, and these days you will not be

yeah....shit happens, I've lost to a 6-36 Protoss before and I am at least a C- Terran. Kinda sad.....=(
Never let your guard down esp when you vs a Protoss because at the lower levels it is very forgiving~

i remember a couple of months ago when luckyfool (B/B+ high?) made a blog about how he lost to D players sufficiently to push him into the D- rank. maybe you just got unlucky with opponents. keep playing and i'm sure you'll get your mechanics back.
