Hey, im on my gf's laptop and downloaded sc thru the new battle.net downloader thingy (she's at work atm and im bored), anyway, i'm trying to patch it, and it keeps giving me this error:
"unable to create file 'C:\Program Files\StarCraft\bnupdate.exe'

Access is denied.

RESULT: Prepatch failed"

Any suggestions? She's running vista and im lost. The weird thing is there's only one account on here computer, so I'd assume i'm on the administrator account, and have no idea why it isnt letting it create the file =[.

It's some sort of administrative problem I am guessing. I have never used vista so I can't help. Check the UAC settings. Just search for UAC

Is UAC disabled? If not try disabling it and running the patch again

I ran into this problem too. Use the icc patcher here, it works perfectly and it fixed the problem:

Hm, I assumed that he was just updating it by going to B.net but I guess thats the same thing.

Just download the patch, then right click and them click run as administrator. That should work.
