Visiting Spain and France

Hi, I have the chance to visit Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Carcassone and Paris in the month of August with my girlfriend. Anyone who lives there / has been there can recommend me nice places to visit in these cities ? I'm particularly interested in historic sites while my girlfriend likes beaches and local-typical stuff.

Also, I'd gladly do something with a TL.netter while I'm there so let me know if you're interested !

Go to Granada for a night and see the Alhambra. Hands down the coolest thing in Spain in my humble opinion. It's several hours by train but so, so worth it. Make sure you have reservations well in advance (you can probably book them now online), because otherwise you will have to wait in line forever and may not even get in.

Hostels are already booked along with train tickets so it has to be those cities

Yea Granada is a MUST. I have been there twice and it is just awesome.

I don't think there are many things to see in Carcassonne except the castle ( kinda impressive but you won't need more than one day to visit it imo ). It is not a big city ( around 50 000 people ).

About Madrid, Paris and Barcelona there are so many things but i think that people who live here will give you better advices

I've always wanted to go on one of those rides on the river with the dude in a beret serenading you. Your girlfriend would probably enjoy that and although I haven't been there, I'm pretty sure they have it in Paris at least. Also, I'm glad this isn't another "hay i'm going to korea" threads.
