Then again most people work year round D: Yea for real if you have 2 weeks paid vacation be happy with what you got, if you have more than that then lol. Well some jobs take more out of you than others, so comparing raw number of vacation days may not be fair (apples and oranges). True. But the thing with shitty jobs is those usually have fewer vacation days as well, because blue collar jobs are an absolute necessity and the condition of the workers is often ignored. They may not be as mentally/psychologically taxing (to me at least) as I imagine teaching would, but it's hard to ignore physical exhaustion and overtime hours, and teachers have looong breaks, weekends, and holidays when all they really have to do is grade homework/tests or make up new assignments from the comfort of their home. Who brought teaching into this? Well... you I guess. Also, while I agree with many of your points about blue collar jobs, I think your generalizations about teaching aren't quite accurate. Teaching just isn't what you think it is until you do it. It was just an arbitrary example of a job that has a lot of vacation days but is mentally taxing (you are tired after a day of work even though you physically don't do much).

It is generally unfair to say that teachers physically don't do much. I'll agree the physical burden of a teacher is low compared to many hands-on jobs, but I think most people think that being a teacher isn't physically tiring, which is wrong (unless you are some lazy teacher who sits at your desk in front of the room all day, but most teachers aren't like that).

Relatively speaking it's easy. If a laborer becomes a teacher the physical load would be negligible, not so vice versa.

You are right, but I've done some jobs that involved labor (not quite as bad as the worst of the worst though), and I can say teaching is most definitely higher up there than you'd think! It's a lot more physically tiring than almost any other white collar job at least.
