So I've been getting only Razer merchandise if money allowed. I just find their products well-suited for me, and they have a kickass logo.
I remember my first item being the Razer Krait, it was a great partner in helping me destroy people on B.Net and in DotA. But it started wearing and tearing, and started filling up with dirt, and in the end, it had to be laid to rest.
My next item was the Razer Mantis (control) version. My table has many lines, it's those wooden texture look kind, so if I don't use a mousepad my mouse goes haywire. This mousepad is pretty good, only complaint is that it's too huge. Should have bought the next gen mousepad >__> (I think it's the Goliathus? I bought it for my friend for his birthday).
The year ended with me buying a lot more Razer products, including the Singapore-only RA3-edition DeathAdder mouse, Lycosa keyboard, wire-management thingy Armadillo, 2 Razer Morays (1 white, 1 black, the white one died out due to mishandling).
If only I had money, I would have bought the Mako speakers, but it's like almost SGD500 >___> It has a sexy design though.
My friends would ask me why I buy only Razer, and I reply, "Because it's Razer".
So TL, how many Razer products do you own?
Poll: How many Razer products do you own? (Vote): 1 to 2 (Vote): 3 to 4 (Vote): 5 to 6 (Vote): 7 to 8 (Vote): over 9000 (Vote): Zero
I've heard a lot of people talking about Logitech mice and headphones, so...
Personally, I've never used Logitech products before. How do they fare against Razer (or any other brands) products?
Poll: Razer or Logitech? (And why?) (Vote): Razer (Vote): Logitech (Vote): Neither

You forgot the option - zero.

My mouse is Logitech, simply because the G5 is the best mouse ever. If a Razer mouse comes along and convinces me otherwise, maybe I'll buy it. Until then, Logitech > *. That being said, I like Razer because they support e-sports.

i own a razer copperhead and a logitech g15 keyboard and im totally satisfied with both. i wouldnt say that the copperhead is the perfect mouse, because it doesnt fit that good to my hand, but i think i will use it till it fucks up.

razer mice durability is shit, but i do love the razer mousepads(have white exactmat)
|
No Razer stuff yet, but I've already got it planned out for the summer (when I begin working).
Razer Lachesis + Razer Arctosis + QPAD CT|Black Small
I do use a Logitech headset, and it's nice, but I prefer the Razer mouse + keyboard. My friend let me use his once and it was pure sex.
EDIT: Well, technically I have the wristband, which I got when I bought a Krait + eXactmat to donate to a tourney, and I wear that all the time.

Although I really like this mouse, I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone. Besides this i have a G15 keyboard which is really good Logitech quality ftw, and a steelseries Mousepad & Headset also both really good using them for years without any problems. If this mouse dies I don't know what i'm gonna buy next but probably a Logitech G3 or something or something from steelseries.

I got an A4 Tech X-710F mouse and it has been working perfectly for the past 2 years. I have also a standard laptop keyboard. Labtec headset (which is very crappy... but fortunately for me I don't have to use one often). I do not plan on buying any Razor gear any time soon (if ever).

I have a razer salmosa that fakesteve gave me lol

Don't Razer products break really easily? That's the main reason I dont buy them, a mouse must endure at least few years of service until it is put to rest.

maybe they used to, but the Deathadder is so sturdy I could probably use it as bricks to build a house with.
deathadder is just <3 for everything except RTS games :p

logitech.
i have a mx510 at home, worked for 6 years with no problems. fits my large hand.
now use a smaller version of that mouse that costs 8-9$, works like a charm.

Razer Krait and Razer Mantis Control Edition
So far, I've no complaints. Used to use Logitech mice, found them to be ok. Planning on getting another Razer sometime this year, probably a keyboard or headset/earphones.
|
I own 7, but I voted 5-6 by accident because I forgot about the lachesis.
Razer: eXactMat Copperhead Lachesis Tarantula Moray (thanks fakesteve!) Barracuda AC-1 Barracuda HP-1
And I DEFINITELY prefer razer over logitech. I used to use logitech back in the day, but razer products are of much higher quality and have better features.

Razer: Diamondback Diamondback 3G Copperhead Deathadder Lycosa
The DeathAdder is the best mouse I've ever owned by a long, long way.
The Copperhead is the worst mouse by nearly the same distance.

The only reason I don't buy Razer is cuz the only Razer product that was available locally (as far as I knew) is the Razer Lachesis which cost around 55BD (approx 150 USD). Currently I use: Logitech G5 Mouse Sennheiser MX360 earphones Nonbranded mousepad (got for 0.5BD; approx 1.33USD) Laptop Keyboard/Speakers

The mice with designs similar to Copperhead die easily for some reason...

I have the Razer DeathAdder. The mouse wheel isn't working right, but overall a decent mouse. As for headphones, AKG-240 Studio all the way.

Seems a lot of people like DeathAdder. Is it the design? Or its cover not being able to wear so easily like other mice? I feel like getting Lachasis or something soon, want to get a new mouse.

Logitech G5 + Logitech G15 + Steelseries S&S
Really starting to consider getting a lighter mouse and if I do it will be a logitech since I've never had a bad experience with them.
|
I used to have a logitech G5, but I got a diamondback off the woot deal as a backup. The right click on the g5 started sticking so I switched to the diamondback for gaming. Now I never use the G5 anymore. I really like the low profile and wider buttons of the diamondback. The only annoying thing is those side rocker buttons are hard to press without shifting my entire hand.
|
I use logitech shit because ive had the same g5/15 for 3 years with 0 problems, the first razor mouse i got broke the first week, the side mouse button clicked in so i get logitech over razor

I've been happy with my Diamondback so far.
|
krait, deathadder, bluetooth wireless razer.
razer keyboards are trash though. my only complaint about the mice is that the cord is so thin.. none of the cords fit well in my mouse bungee
|
I'm using Razer Salmosa only.. I wanted to get a good mousepad too, but the place where i place my mousepad on is dam small (unless i get to cut it, which is pointless).. Razer provide high sensitivity, but their mousepad is huge, pretty ironic? My salmosa is good enough for me, but sometimes it will creak when i left click, which is pretty irritating (friction and more force is needed)
|
My Diamondback is fine, but truthfully, it really doesn't matter what kind of stuff you use. It's not like your apm will go up or your control will improve just because you spent 89.99 + tax on a name brand mouse or something.

I prefer Razer Salmosa and I love it. I think Razer mices have much better shape than the logitechs for claw grip users. I also doubt Razer's durability. The first Razer mouse I bought was the Diamondback 3G. I had to return it because the right click was significantly harder to click compared to the left click. I decided to buy the Salmosa afterward because the Diamondback felt big. Even the Salmosa that I have right now is not perfect. Right click is slightly harder to press than the left click.
|
I've been using a copperhead for like 6months now. It's not too bad for starcraft, however, it's absolutely awesome for FPS, along with the copperhead i use a razer mousemat, the speed one i think. The mousemat isnt really any better than an ordinary foam mousepad, although it's a lot larger and is very comfortable for resting your wrists on, and has nifty rubber gripping underneath it.

I have the Razer Viper cuz it was like $12 on amazon but it's a definite upgrade from the standard mice.

I don't like Logitech mice because they are much too complicated; for instance they have too many buttons in awkward places. I like razer mice because they are simple and work well.

I like logitech, but I only own the G5 from them. Nothing from razer though - I've just never tried it (nothing against them)
|
I have a Razer Diamondback and a Logitech Mini Optical.
They're both great mice, really. I'm thinking of getting a Krait or Salmosa, because they're like a fusion of those two mice.
|
Have had Logitech G1 for about a year and a half now.
Im divided between coolness of razers and quality of logitech. A also the price tag on razer, and a fact that i can only find 2-3 models in my town shifts if towards Logitech.

Logitech football mouse - fuckin awesome

Im using Razer Mantis and its pretty good + I have it for over a year now and its in good condition even though heavily exploited The only thing I dont like about it is that its waaaaaaay too big for me (countless cups of coffee spilled on it). But for a mouse I would recommend Logitech, mainly because its much cheaper with the same quality imo.

Razer is a good brand, and their ideology/business plan is appealing simply because they care so much about gamers.
However, for the money I spent on my comp hardware none of the Razer products really add up or fit my needs as well as the stuff I ended up buying.
For example: Headphones: Sennheiser HD555 > Piranha or Barracuda. I've tried both, won the Razer products through a LAN. They just don't stack up. I also don't see any reviews [ or reasons ] to pick any of the other high-end Razer phones over the sennheisers.
Mouse skates: Default are fine for me, esp with the new teflon from Logitech. Which leads me to my next point.
Mouse pad: Func 1030 since forever, again personal preference but the 1030 comes two sided and for the money I spent I'm glad it has those two sides. I don't have or need the desk space for the huge pads, even when playing cs I'm more of a wrist player.
Mouse: http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=1265679 nuff said. A lot of people are really misinformed about mice and all their technical data so that link is a really solid comparison and introduction into the gaming mice of the last few years. I own a mx518 first gen.
Headphones for music player: I prefer in ear when I work out or whatever and the v-modas I use are just higher quality no question and the price is around the same when I was comparing sets.
So yeah in conclusion, Razer kicks ass and their products are fine by me [ If I played dota/sc/rts only, I would definitely use a krait ] but if you stack your money vs the value, add in personal preference, most people come out using Logitech or another brand known to produce quality in that piece of hardware.

maybe logitech because of it's plug and play features.. razer is kinda driver-oriented.. :D

Any user with the most basic technological knowledge would never ever buy Razer. That is so obvious I don't even get why people still purchase their products.
Oh wait, marketing retards.
|
I use both. I have a Logitech G15 keyboard, G5 mouse and a Razer Lycosa keyboard. I like Logitech mice more because they're heavy (not all of them, true, but all the Razer mice I tried were very light). Also I like the Logitech shape more, it fits great in my palm and I'm not touching the pad at all.
As for the keyboards, I like the feel of the Lycosa A LOT (gummy, slim keys) but I HATE the fact that it doesn't have a few customizable keys (like the new G15). Sure, it has macros, but extra keys are just better for games, especially if they are on the left of the WSAD cluster.
My pad is a Steel Series 5L, and it's the coolest pad I ever tried. The surface is cloth-like but the bottom is plastic so it works great.

Deathadder has been proven to have skips, its a terrible mouse. Ever since then, razer = bad.

Then how about Tarantula? It has macro keys (but has no illuminating lights). Also, my Lycosa's keys' skins have been starting to wear D:

Logitech is cheaper than Razer generally, I think...which is important to me.
I need to get a new mouse, though...the first button on my Logitech MX310 is starting to wear out to the point where I misclick in games, and even when fucking web browsing. I'll have to reevaluate both Logitech and Razer's current line. I'm thinking of getting a Razer mouse just because they sponsored TSL, but we'll see.
|
I really like my Razer Krait and it was pretty cheap for a gaming mouse.
|
I bought a Razer 3g diamondback or something I think it was called. It was shit.
It was way too big for my hands. (I do have small hands, but from reading at the site, it should be still fit my hand size.)
I don't know how to explain it, but clicking on the panels or w/e on the mouse felt really clumsy and un-comfortable because the gap between the panel and the ''sensor'' was so large. (My mouse that came with the PC has no such gap, thus clicking on it is ALOT faster.)
That probably didn't make much sense. The bottom line is: I don't understand how that possibly could be a good gaming mouse, when the average office mouse that came with my PC was a lot better in SC, CS and in pretty much everything. And a lot more comfortable. And if you wonder if I gave it a chance, I forced myself to use and try it out on a MMO, SC and CS, on a few day period. But I just ended up using my old mouse.
Buying my shit from Logitech from now on.
|
On May 13 2009 01:25 konadora wrote: Then how about Tarantula? It has macro keys (but has no illuminating lights). Also, my Lycosa's keys' skins have been starting to wear D:
Well, I do have a keyboard with macro keys and a display panel (G15), but I wanted this one because I liked the gummy keys, which are also slim (big big plus). The tarantula had normal keys IIRC, so there was no point in getting that. Besides, a friend of mine won this Lycosa for #1st place in an ESL starcraft contest, and sold it to me @ pretty much half-price, brand new, so I figured, why not. I probably wouldn't have bought it from a store unless my Logitech broke down.
As for my logitech stuff, though they're quite old (3+ yrs), they didn't break down. The G15's illumination flickers sometimes between medium and high intensity on the right side of the keyboard, and the "paint job" on my G5 wore out especially where the finger tips touch, but apart from that, the equipment is working perfectly still. (I did change the Teflon skid pads with some SteelSeries a while back, because I screwed up the original ones while dismantling my mouse, but that could have been avoided had I some brains)
P.S.: NonFactor - I played with a DiamondBack a lot, and didn't have trouble with accuracy, besides, lots of people use it for professional gaming, so I don't think it's a general issue. Are you sure the sensor was clean? Even things like fallen hair can disrupt the sensor. As for the gap between the sensor/pad, I'm sure that was well-calculated by Razer... but then again, you could have had the back luck of getting a defective model. Though I doubt it.

|
On May 13 2009 22:00 konadora wrote: Does nobody use cable management devices? Or does every just tie them up with a string? lol
I don't. Keyboard is on the edge of the table to the left, cable just goes to the left and down to my comp. Mouse cable goes under keyboard, and off the table too. See, the thing is, my mouse has super sexy cable (love Logitech for this), which is pretty stiff (covered in textile) and doesn't "pull" to any direction if it's not 100% stretched, and it's not.
So I don't need any of that useless stuff. I'm willing to spend extra money for keyboards/mice/pads but other accessories like gloves, lights, cable management, seem really useless.
