hehe ig.voltron is a new zealand player (aka cakeman i think?). Not sure if hes B- skill level still but C+ would be believable. Anyway i thought his main race was p, but i don't know him to well. i do know hes one of the top new zealander playes though, but not sure if he is very active anymore.

edit: i think he plays p for all matchups except zvp where he plays z. maybe he was just screwing around that game though.

Im B- as well with Z and my T surely wont beat an even stats D/D+ player... Some people just never play the other races, you cant say shit about someones skill level on an offrace.... I cant even play with hotkeys with T/P.....

It is very common nowadays everyone states he would be B-. Actually like 1% of those reached B- but most stop at C-/C with good stats knowing they would get trashed on C+/B- and most likely fall back to C-/C with really bad stats (I'm talking about <40% ratio). I see so many ppl claiming to be B- it's not even funny. B- seems to be the "magical" rank where everyone sees himself "because if I would play on I'd reach B- easily". Yeah, like one game with 300 games and dropping back instantly.

Seriously, anyone can reach C-/C with decent stats when playing only foreigners, dodging weak matchups, playing all-in only and so on. Just look at matchlists, you can recognize such people at their gametime. If all won games are <12-15 min you know what's up.

if this ig.voltron is the same player as voltron on europe(that player played me in various 2on2s there) i guess its just that he really enjoys playing for fun/not for stats a lot which might explain why you thought his rank to be 'too high'.
fun players often dont relie on cookie cutter builds but on spontaneous strategic alterations etc. to throw you off., which is <FUNNY> if it works out

so i dont reallly wonder (if its the same player)

its hard to believe but some people dont play for fun and just practice 1 race/1v1 all day so its definitely possible. also ICCUP ranks are BS. C+ rank ive faced either amazing koreans that just crush me or cheesing retarded noobs that if it fails they are terrible. so doesnt say much about skill

I've played countless of games with this guy on west nillla low..(2v2 n 1v1)
Eventhough that's about 2-4years ago... I did play a few games with him roughly 4months ago.
Back then he didn't seem he had improved one bit.
If he really is cakeman[stfu]:
He used to play(/plays) random nilla low/fmp.
And from what I know I wouldn't rank him any higher than a D+.
(possibly he improved a lot during the last 4months?)

It's unlikely, but possible. I had B- last season, and my Zerg is pretty good, around C level, but my Terran is awful, like D+. It's not like B- players have really good off-races as well. I know many C+'s whose off-race couldn't get higher than a mid-level D+.

I just watched the rep. It looks like he has C- mechanics & D level strategic sense. So D+ seems like a fair estimate.

I'm not a real B-, but I reached it last season then sat on my rank for the last day. Assuming he is that kind of b- it seems very possible. I know I probably have a losing record with both of my offraces against D/D+ players in op irc.

I play alot of off race games on west and east to warmup for iccup and just do old school fun builds.

I definately have lost tvp vs D level gamers and pvz to some weird ling heavy builds or fast hydra.

he's b- in 2v2 D; its possible he is c-/c. Maybe my logic is wrong but if you have a decent partner and you two play alot together is pretty guaranteed that you will have a higher chance then winning people who just randomly 2v2.

You'd have to get super lucky to beat a B- if you are incapable of reaching D+, and by that I mean he has to screw up.
You have to rely on the B- playing sub par rather than you playing somehow amazing that one game.
The average B- player would rape the D rank player any map, any matchup, any time, any day.
