EPTrecently ive been having major issues with brood war and i am unable to play single player or even log onto battle.net.
This all started a few weeks ago when i downloaded that 7up (can't remember the official name) program, that allowed me to patch to previous versions. I downloaded it because i wanted to watch some cool yaoyuan replays from 1.15.
anyway, after i downloaded it, i set it for 1.15.1 to watch a replay, and it bugged out. I opened single player, it asked me to select my name, i did, then it crashed to desktop with the error message "Starcraft was unable to open a required file. blah blah blah. The problem occured when trying to load glue\PAICs\BackGnd.pcx The system cannot find the file specified.
Also i cannot use multiplayer because i get that message "cannot verify your version, please reinstall.
I HAVE reinstalled and tried again but so far it hasnt worked. Keep in mind that i am using a torrented copy of bw, but i use a legit SC cd key that i own (i lent someone my sc disc and unfortunately they moved overseas, taking it with them =/) Also, ive been using this torrented copy for years and it hasnt given me any problems, so i doubt its that. i think its something to do with the 7up program. maybe it deleted a file?
any help would be appreciated.
PS: plz dont attack me over using a torrented copy. I do own sc and bw legit, but i dont have the disc. i still use my own, legit cd key. i just dont have the money to purchase sc again just for the disc. :C
