Just a nitpick, but these aren't really reviews. You are basically just giving a synopsis. Putting that aside I have seen 4 out of 5 of these and agree they are great movies that people should try to see.

I haven't watched any of them. I almost got Tae Guk Gi but I was looking for something happy at the time, does it have a happy ending?
Anyway, recommendations threads are great. I will probably end up watching them all. Thanks!

Red Cliffs isn't good for people who aren't familiar with the Three Kingdoms story/general Chinese History IMO.

I'll check out Counterfeiters, sounds interesting. ^^

quite possibly. It's a horror film about a platoon in south korea after the vietnam war where their mission is to find a platoon who has been sending signals to Korea asking for help. The platoon gets there, and mysteriously they all go insane and start to die off one by one. great movie imo

A Chinese war movie, during the time zone of when the Dynasty Warriors take place, about the war between china. A great movie all around, it can be boring at a few times, but it really is quite a masterpiece.

Completely disagree. It was pretty shitty. Big name actors with completely forgettable performances. Barf of a script, which is a feat considering how awesome three kingdoms is. High budget trash. Do skip.

Taekgukgi looks pretty good and if you say it is I will watch it. Actually they all look pretty interesting except maybe for #5, I'll try to watch all of them in the end though.

Tae Guk Gi isn't really realistic ...
Could have been easily a way better film with less explosions and unrealistic hand to hand fights...
Too bad.

This is my favourite genre of Korean movies (Korean army + supernatural horror.) I enjoyed it for the most part aside from the annoyingly over-used cliche of the 'scary woman with long hair' The rest of the imagery and the acting itself was solidly creepy.

I hated the radio scenes. ARGH - noises scare me so much more than images.

I also enjoyed GP506 - korean soldiers versus psychotic zombie virus FTW. It was totally OTT at times, but I'll watch anything within the confines of the horror stable if looks fun.
