This is about the blog I wrote about the murder attempt of an American student in Jerusalem.

Meaning no disrespect to the mods, since I didn't manage to write even one reply in that blog I think it is fair to at least let me reply to "accusations" and to clarify some things.

I originally meant to add the sources but I was too tired, I apologize for that. Because I was tired I wrote it quite bad though I still think the story is interesting in itself and certainly blog worthy.

This is not hearsay. The fact that this was ignored in all western media made me want to share this with people from other countries. How come when an American journalist is murdered in Afghanistan it reaches all headlines but this story where the guy actually manages to get away is ignored?

The JPost account of the story which was used as a "source" and said to not fit my story, has little inaccuracies they state he ran through the forest for 40 minutes before reaching the Dung Gate. If you know Jerusalem you know that's impossible because the forest doesn't get even near the Dung Gate.. You have to go either through "Ras El Amud and "Siluan" (as stated in all other sources) or go all around.

As for the claim that my blog is nationalistic, yes it is. It is foolish to look at this incident (and countless others) as unrelated acts of (so many) psychopaths. There is a growing hostility and growing violence on many levels from the Arab population in Israel towards Jews. I know this is not popular to say but unfortunately it's true.

And I guess you advocate an aggressive offensive against the Arabian countries nearby Israel, don't you?

Somehow I feel this blog's gonna be closed too...

this has nothing to do with the Arab countries nearby. I also didn't write this to advocate any specific policy though I can think of several things that should be done to improve the situation.

"Growing hostility and violence?" Dude, if there's one thing that's been constant almost since the dawn of civilization it's conflict in Israel. Holy wars only die with the religions that foster them.

My rambling was not really on topic, I just felt the need to express myself. Put it into spoilers now.

Locke., I understand your anger to some extent, but there seems to be no solution to this conflict. If I were you I would get out of this worthless piece of land as fast as I could. You can live a happy life elsewhere,in some jewish community far away (if you like your culture). This "holy land" is not that good of a place to live anyway.

I don´t like what the zionistic movement has done to the middle east, it has given the arabic-islamic countries a common cause, a focus for their hatred, just like the crusades did back in medieval times. Both sides are so strong in zeal, that this conflict becomes dangerous for the world as a whole.

Don´t think I am antisemitic in any way, in fact I admire what jewish men have done for our country before the holocaust. Many great thinkers were among them. This was no coincidence: They lived between two cultures, and that gave them many choices. Some chose to be orthodox jews, some to be nationalistic germans. But some could also go beyond that and free themselves from their background, becoming great thinkers not bound by religion or nationality. They could take a look from the outside, what others, their mind restrained by society and heritage, could not.

I guess those men would not like to see your people becoming zealots over the possession of the so called holy land.

You're framing gang violence as a culture war. The fact of the matter is East Jerusalem is a shitty place to live and you've got a bunch of bored young men, on both sides, with knives committing violence. It's pre-gang warfare with the great conflict as an excuse. Jumping a guy 4-to-1 with an exacto knife is considered terrorism? Then every single country in the world has hundreds of acts of terrorism each year.

Just wrong, at least for the "bad land" part.
Israel itself is wealthy and has a good amount of exports going on, so what are you talking about?
You're telling the Israelis to leave their land because this piece of soil in your opinion is worthless? What?

I don´t tell anyone to leave, I said I myself would leave. No country is worth all that hate. The hate makes it a worthless piece of land, atleast to me. Even if I were a jew and would have the option to become a citizen right away.

I would find it interesting to know if you would advise all the arabs down there to leave, too. Instead of the Israelis of course.
Would stop the hate quite effectively, don't you think?

My topic got closed too. It's important for people to know about stuff like this. I feel if there was greater civil action taken by American citizens then maybe something would be done about it. There is a lot of wrong going on that could be prevented by the international institutions set up to handle them. The longer conflict goes on down there the worse everything will get. Ending the conflict would be the fastest return to normalcy.

Once again, I am not in any position to give advice. This was no plead to all Israelis to leave the country and solve the problem. This was directed to Locke. I said I, as an Israeli, would leave the country. Why? Because after a while there I would hate the arabs, too. It´s understandable, if one lives in a country that is endangered all the time.

I can´t say the same for arabs or palestinians. Why, you may ask. Because, if I were one of them, most likely I would have no job, no knowledge and no perspective and I couldn´t leave the country because noone wants me. Maybe I would try nonetheless, but the chances to succeed somewhere else would be slim. Israelis on the other hand are "global citizens", most are well educated, speak english quite well, and are welcome in other countries.

Yes, I think that Zionism was a bad idea in the first place - not unusual for an irrational movement based on religious belief. Many jewish people of the last 2 centuries would be with me on that one. I know the effects are irreversible now, so it´s useless to bitch about it, but this situation won´t be solved for a long time. Maybe the Israelis are lucky and the demographics won´t kill their state, but fear and hatred won´t just vanish.

What about the growing hostility and violence from the Jews to the Arabs. The Palestinians occasionally kill one or a couple of Israelis. When the Israelis attack, much much more people die.
From Wikipedia
On December 27, 2008, Israel launched Operation Cast Lead—a massive aerial assault and subsequent land invasion—against Hamas, beginning a major battle in Gaza. The Israel Operation began with an intense bombardment of the Gaza strip, targeting Hamas bases, police training camps, police headquarters and offices. Civilian infrastructure, including mosques, houses and schools were also attacked. Human Rights groups and aid organisations have accused Hamas and Israel of "War Crimes" and called for independent investigations and law suits. In the days following the ceasefire, the BBC reported that, "more than 40,000 Gazans were left without running water and 4000 homes had been ruined, leaving tens of thousands of people homeless.

I think it's only natural for the Arabs to hate the Israelis. If you go there and destroy their homes and kill their men, they'll retaliate if they are given the opportunity. They can't fight straight up, their weapons are hopelessly outclassed by the weapons that the Israeli army uses.

Can we not degenerate into israeli vs palestine arguments? There has never been anyone converted in their viewpoint on that conflict via arguments on the internet. It just evolves into a huge flamefest and angry people.
