I wouldn't go out with her. Stay away unless you wanna get herpes (which has no cure at the moment) and then someone will be making a 'Say you liked a boy who had it, would you go out with him?' blog. | ||

according to American Social Health Association:"About 50 percent to 80 percent of the adult population in the United States has oral herpes (commonly called cold sores or fever blisters), with as many as 90% having the virus by age 50." so which one are u talking about? you probably have hsv1 already without knowing it | ||

@kentor are u sure u have cold sores? or maybe its just a canker sore? i would get it checked out...there is a big difference. | ||

i've never thought about getting it checked out. i've had random cold sores ever since i was a little kid and they're annoying especially right before picture day. oh well | ||

I would turn down any woman in the world who told me she had herpes. Think longterm , a woman with gential herpes has a very high chance of passing it onto a child during child-birth. Even with a C section the disease can be transmited. Not that you are dying to have children, but if it ever happens then you would be passing on her disease to an innocent baby. If she has coldsores, who the fuck cares I have them, you'll have them if you don't everybody gets 1 maybe every 4-5 months afaik(could be wrong though). | ||

And NO not EVERYONE has cold sores...ALOT of people do have the cold sore virus...most of which NEVER have an actual outbreak. edit: and just so u know cold sore outbreaks are a big deal...especially for girls cuz its a self esteem issue...i know this becuase my last gf had them...and i have known several other girls who do as well..and several males. edit: the part ur not understanding about ur quoted source...is that 90% have the virus...what u didnt seem to understand is most of these people never see an outbreak. | ||

But read what u linked. I'll say it again...90% of people have the virus...most NEVER have an outbreak. And even though it is fairly common...and the girls i speak of know this...nobody likes having something on their mouth/face that uneducated immature people will make fun of...im sure if u ask the people in in this thread...they will agree cold sores are nothing fun. | ||

i did some research and hsv 1 or 2 can both occur in the 2 common areas (mouth & genitals), and they are pretty much the same. from http://www.herpes.com/hsv1-2.html + Show Spoiler + The common myth is that HSV-1 causes a mild infection that is occasionally bothersome, but never dangerous. And no, public toilet seats are not a good place for bacteria/virus to grow and live. Unless of course there is stuff on the seat like piss or shit , but then who is gonna sit there anyways. There was a study where they swabbed random toilets and then swabbed people's butt cheeks and found that their asses/toilets were cleaner than their faces. (video of it somewhere). | ||
