That's really not even up for debate. Like FakeSteve said, regardless of the girl's reasoning, he acted like a douchebag. You can take that as an attack on his character, and I won't argue with you at all. However my feelings towards his character are based off of objective information clearly provided within the original post and are completely independent of the girl's reasoning, the guy's race, and whether or not the "situation was being read." I have to ask you, what point are you trying to make? Are you arguing that this guy wasn't out of line, and that he was completely justified in his reaction? If so, why do you think that? As well as this, you still have yet to address any of my other points or requests for evidence or reasoning supporting any disagreeing argument. Why is that? I mean, I really don't think I'm being difficult, unreasonable, or condescending here at all. I find this to be an interesting discussion and my requests for evidence or reasoning supporting other arguments have all been completely genuine. I don't know why that's such a difficult thing to do and why some people seem to ignore a lot of what I've said (although I can come up with some pretty good guesses).

It's a nasty little habit. I seem to edit most of my posts, sometimes many times, even for really tiny details that most people wouldn't even notice or care about. It's like an OCD thing ![]() EDIT: Well, actually, I don't really have any problems with grammar. I'm just really picky about things and like to change around my wording a lot to make things sound better.

Because I'm not really trying to make a point. I just felt that you were overly dismissive of the possibility that the guy has a legitimate complaint. Yeah, he's acting like a douchebag either way, but what he thinks is the problem is something that DOES happen. Whether or not its happening here is questionable, but I don't think the idea of Asian girls dismissing Asian guys because they're Asian is just a myth. It does happen (and Asian guys do it to Asian girls too).

It does happen (and Asian guys do it to Asian girls too). I agree that it's definitely not a myth, but I also think that it's something that some guys exaggerate to rationalize their lack of success (and like you said it's not just asian girls that do this, in reality guys and girls from all races have been known to do such a thing). My main point was just that there really wasn't much support given to his reasoning, in fact from what he wrote there seemed to be much more evidence working against his reasoning. Even if he's an expert at reading situations and he did pick up on all sorts of little details that supported his reasoning, he sure didn't make any effort to discuss those. You would think that someone who would go the extra mile and write something like he did would include the necessary support for their reasoning if there was any, ESPECIALLY someone who has a Ph.D (because it's not very easy to get a Ph.D if you can't do something as simple as support your reasoning). The fact that he didn't do this, as well as the abnormally harsh reaction that he had, should make any educated individual skeptical of his reasoning (and not only that but his reasoning came to a conclusion that more often than not just isn't true and is just used as a scapegoat, which should automatically make you skeptical). So it's not that I'm completely ruling out the possibility that he had a legitimate complaint (although it may seem like that), I'm just saying that there's really nothing to support that and he was most likely falsely rationalizing the situation. If he wasn't then it's very likely that we would have seen some kind of solid support for his reasoning, in which case it would be much easier to believe that he had a legitimate complaint. I agree though that we really don't know what happened and coming to any kind of definite conclusion isn't really possible, but you can definitely make some strong guesses. Anyway, I'm not really sure that there's much left to be said here. So, nice chatting with you ![]()
