However, I was wondering if there is any way to get my new (old lol) ps2 hooked up to my 19inch lcd digital display? (My family owns a television, but it is not located in my room, and since my house is small, I'm afraid that my family would be distracted by me gaming in the living room). Various internet sources have suggested two viable options; component cables or getting a tv-tuner for your PC. Since I don't have either option and since I am hesitant into jumping into something without prior experience, I was hoping that readers who have a similar setup would be able to suggest a product that would do the trick for me. Thanks, and I can't wait to play some Final Fantasy.

As for your question, if your graphics card has the RYW plugs, it could be possible, however, I know of no other way to play on a monitor without a TV card or a VGA box. Also, you are really lucky to get all that for 65 dollars, its probably worth more than that if you trade it in to a store, you should keep it in mind. Your friend probably needs cash for street fighter 4 I bet. edit: http://www.amazon.com/VGA-Monitor-Input-Convertor-Selector/dp/B000JCLLUW This should work for you.

Final Fantasy X-2 had some nice features (Mainly the job change mid-battle was an interesting aspect that I would have like seen carried over to other titles as well.), but all that aside the game itself is heavily geared towards a female audience and unless you're a girl, die hard FF fan or not; be warned. Grats on your PS2! have some fun, man.

Jkjk, and FFX is beast, X-2 is hard to play through if your not a hardcore FF fan(which i'm not, which is why i haven't beat it yet lol) or your not really intersted in the story. Mostly motivational things lol.

I honestly thought FFX' story sucked massive anus. The sphere grid system was really good though IMO. Also, PS2s are still great for fighting games.

However, PS2 is awesome to have because all the Rock Band / Guitar Hero games and equipment are going down in price now that PS3 is out. So if you're into those rhythm games, score! : )

And yeah, I originally wanted the ps2 for persona 4, so that's going to be the first game I'm buying when I'm done with these Oh, and I only wanted FFX-2 incase I grow really attached to the characters in X. That and so I can say I own all 3 ps2 final fantasys

I also like Final Fantasy 10, also best in the series for me. X-2 I stayed away (FFX had a perfect ending dunno why they sequeled it =(). Couldnt get into XII though, played till after 1st disc, absolutely detested XII after going through a good 3/4 game. FFIX is a good game as well. Final Fantasy games are so expensive cause they withstand the tests of time. Great games even when compared to games of today. Much like Starcraft =), it's still like 19.99 + Tax for the chest when other games that came out in the year are like 5 for a 1$

I made a thread about this like a year or 2 ago. You can get a thing that costs a bundle to do it. And it might be buggy. Who knows. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=65166

SSBM and mario kart is all you need. Pretty sure we played smash for about 5 hours last night... Happy feet! WOMBO COMBO! FFX is a good game, doesn't really feel like a FF game though, if you get that. X-2 sucks dick. I didn't even mean to complete it, i was just training up that big plant thing that Yuna has and i soared through the bosses in no time, i was like wtf? Worst thing about X-2 is Blitz being automated... FF12...i played that game for 45 hours and i had no fucking idea what in the fuck was going on, let alone why 2/3rds of these characters were along for the ride?

I've been playing FFX a bit. It's more like a visual novel than a game, but so linear you're walking in lines. I'll judge it when I finish it though.
