also one of the main points of facebook is that you can stay in touch with old classmates. i've found elementary, middle and high school friends who are now spread all around the country/world.

Facebook > Myspace by far. I can't stand how messy myspace is compared to facebook.

I used to think the same thing as you when I first got Facebook. But Facebook owns Myspace in every aspect...I mean Myspace tries to copy Facebook's clean design/applications/etc but it still blows.

Facebook is for upper class rich kids while Myspace tends to be lower class. That's just how it is.

The nice thing about having more of your data on facebook is that everyone's legit. Only stalkers that you know are going to friend you .

The thing that kinda bugs me is that facebook doesn't have any Music Artists pages with music and show updates etc.
Main reasons why I used myspace (in no order):
Hook up with chicks.
hear new tracks from favorite artists/find new artists.
get updated on shows and events from said artists.
post funny stuff/news to my friends (even if there is an oversaturation that no one reads them)
see pics of friends and leave messages for friends.
Facebook doesn't have all of these things.
PS- I don't mind the captcha for more security but like 60% of the time I can't even read the shit and find myself spamming the 'get new words' link. And why do they choose these huge long words and/or jumbles of letters? A simple 4 letter word and number string would suffice, seriously wtf.

PS - what is the deal with girls always being/liking sarcasm? I don't understand why that it is necessary for girls to state this?
I see it all the time, myspace, facebook, if you look at the relationship seeking sites like craigslist etc.
Is it just one of those generic things that chicks write like: "I want a guy who's funny, smart, and blahh blah long walks on the beach"?

Well, Myspace was made to endorse artists, whereas facebook was made to make friends.

Iron Maiden is entirely mainstream. Most people do not like the music but that doesn't mean it's not mainstream. Shit I knew who they were when I was like 10 and I am part of that 'most' group.
And for the record I don't listen to bands. I kind of hate it when people always assume that everything is a band. Just say 'Group'. its a much more general term and doesn't offend anyones tastes.
and actually myspace was made like facebook was but it was bought and sold and commercialized. So I get what you are saying.
